'No Filters! How's This Possible?' - Man shares his view of the glowing pink sky in Birmingham

When the sky over Birmingham turned a brilliant shade of magenta on January 8, 2026, many residents were left in disbelief. Among them was Kaider, who captured a quick video of the scene to share with his inner circle.

The footage shows a surreal, "Stranger Things" style glow illuminating the heavy snowfall of Storm Goretti.

While it looked like a cosmic event or the Northern Lights, the truth was much more local. The vivid color came from powerful LED grow lights at St. Andrew’s Stadium, the home of Birmingham City Football Club.
