00:11You know, Tung Ling was a great man for AirAsia. He did a lot in the early days when we
00:18first
00:18started and we can never thank him enough for one supporting AirAsia, believing in AirAsia.
00:26When I first saw him, we only had two planes and I told him my story in Equatorial Hotel.
00:33I crashed a party. He didn't know me and he listened to our story and he said okay I
00:41will help and he got me a meeting with Tun Mahate and then we grew. So he gave AirAsia
00:49the chance to survive and we will never forget his contribution. So I think
00:55Malaysians benefit a lot from what he did for us and now most people can fly and
01:03he was a great man. Always smiling, always humble, always had time for everyone no
01:10matter how senior he was. I was nobody. I just bought AirAsia with two planes but he
01:16gave me a lot of time and patience. So I will never forget that. I respect him a lot.
01:29I think he said to me people like AirAsia so we must help. This is an airline that helps the
01:40small man and he said you know you're very popular so we must try and help. And I think he
01:46saw it at the early days that M.A.S. served one richer people.
01:53And we served the masses. I always said to him that this is not competition. This is creating a new
02:00market. You know my tagline was now everyone can fly was to allow people who never flew before a chance
02:07to fly.
02:08So you know he almost 25 years ago he saw that we were not competition to M.A.S.
02:19And I think finally you know when you talk to M.A.S. now they also see that we are
02:23different. It's like a Mercedes-Benz
02:26and Kanchil. We are two different products serving two different markets and both of us M.A.S. and us
02:34contribute to the Malaysian economy.
02:37And so he was an early he saw it early which was great. And I miss him because he's always
02:45always smiling always positive and never a bad word to anybody.
02:51And I'm sure I caused him many headaches with my mouth to the press because I'm very outspoken as everyone
02:59knows.
03:00But no we had a great relationship. Okay. Thank you very much. I got to sign the book.
