00:28:44survival has been my favorite show for a long time so i think what brought me all the way out
00:28:49here to fiji it's literally on the other side of the planet from where i live was the chance to
00:28:53get
00:28:53to do the things that i love to do and then get to share that with people that are on
00:28:56a show that i
00:28:57love and getting to come up with what i would want for a reward you know what the meal that
00:29:00i would want
00:29:01to have if i was out here that's cool so it's a cool thing just being a part of something
00:29:05that you
00:29:05love man and contributing something to it i mean that's that's where it's at like there's nothing
00:29:09else that i could ask for first time i went spearfishing about 17 years ago we were in the
00:29:26muhammas and i just absolutely fell in love with it being able to interact with nature and being able
00:29:32to be immersed in it and being pushed in places where people don't normally go it recharges my
00:29:37batteries every time that i dive i see something i haven't seen before it's literally another
00:29:47universe being underneath the water makes me feel small in the most incredible way i find a lot of
00:29:55peace under the water but there's definitely different challenges sometimes the visibility is not as good
00:30:00and then sometimes you're in a lot of current so you're always reading what's happening around you
00:30:05i imagine that's the same in survivor you got to adapt to whatever's happening and you learn how to
00:30:09be around sharks there's sharks every day that you're spearfishing and you're battling them for the fish
00:30:23when you're close enough to get a shot and it hits the fish it's an amazing feeling but that's half
00:30:28the battle then you got to get the fish in your hands as fast as you can because the sharks
00:30:33they're
00:30:33going to come after the fish but once you pull the fish into your body the shark kind of stops
00:30:40pursuing
00:30:40it catching such a big gnarly fish that's that was satisfying but i didn't want to just bring a bunch
00:30:46of little fish i wanted to have something impressive so i can't wait to bring some amazing food and
00:30:51they're going to eat good we're going to cook it up and feed them well charge them up for the
00:30:55rest of their
00:30:55time here we are all extremely fortunate oh this is incredible oh my gosh
00:31:07what up my man you guys oh my god look at that oh holy crap dude oh my god zach
00:31:18shows up with two
00:31:21giant fish much bigger than the ones i caught when i was spearfishing i didn't know you could
00:31:25spearfish fish this big honestly hey great to meet y'all i feel like i know i was already impressed
00:31:34because i'm a fan of his music then he shows up with the skills of spearfishing and he's making us
00:31:41this gourmet meal this is so cool we're gonna eat so much what got you into survivor we just hooked
00:31:47the
00:31:47first time you saw it or you have like a yeah i love the unpredictability of it but i've seen
00:31:51all
00:31:52of you play so i'm like it's weird i feel like i know you you know like this is this
00:31:57is wild how's
00:31:58your camp that's good good you should come back to camp with us though and sleep overnight for the
00:32:04full experience would you lay off zach for a second he's not coming back to our camp being a fan
00:32:10it's a
00:32:11blessing to get to hang with him and i've always wanted to be a part of the show so it's
00:32:15a dream come true
00:32:16for me this is just next level thank you zach my pleasure sanctuary is the place to be i can't
00:32:24believe this we are the most lucky survivor players in the world right now and i can't help but think
00:32:30one tribe's going to tribal council and it's going to have a miserable night and the other

00:54:07You know, I remember a bit of what Ozzy did on TV, but in real life, Ozzy is the most
00:54:12humble, down-to-earth, kind dude.

00:54:18I'm not trying to, like, you know, kiss your ass or something, but it's genuine.
00:54:20And as much as we're all trying to, like, factor in existing relationships, I think the new relationships forming have
00:54:28been some of the most interesting and powerful that I've experienced in Survivor.
00:54:32And I've loved getting to know everybody here.
00:54:34And yet, you're all about to write down a name and completely blindside one of the six of you.
00:54:40So, Ozzy, one way to look at this is it's a crisis point.
00:54:44If you vote out the wrong person, this tribe may not recover.
00:54:48Well, Jeff, the fact of the matter is this also presents an opportunity to build trust.
00:54:53Look, I'm willing to put it all out there for these guys, these guys that I've played with.
00:54:57They can trust me, and they know that in situations where we need something, I'm going to go out and
00:55:02do the best job I possibly can.
00:55:04Christian, Ozzy's looking at the other side, which is if you survive, the bond gets stronger, and that purpose can
00:55:11lead to more cohesion.

00:55:13But there's the big if at the beginning of that, if you survive.
00:55:16And part of that is trust, trusting that not only the group is cohesive, but that whatever vote comes next
00:55:23is also not going to come your way.
00:55:26Steph, how do you balance your individual gut versus trying to assess what the group gut is to make sure
00:55:34that they are aligned and it's not you tonight?
00:55:36It's hard. I mean, I'm trying to trust my gut, but in a game where you're getting so much information
00:55:43from so many different people, it's really hard.
00:55:46There is no 100% your gut is right. Go with that.
00:55:50Angelina, how do you balance it?
00:55:52I always let my instincts be the last word, and it's the observations. It's the head. It's the heart.
00:55:58It's all baked in saying, this is what I feel is right. This is what I'm drawn to. This is
00:56:03the right next step. That's all I've got out here.
00:56:05Mike, obviously it has to serve you. It has to serve everybody when they make a vote, but it also
00:56:12has to serve the group to some degree.
00:56:15Well, the thing that's difficult is I have pre-existing relationships with some of these people.

00:56:27And then there's also, yeah, your individual, you know, affinities.
00:56:32And so when it comes to voting, it's like, yeah, there's some people you'd rather lose with than win with,

00:57:12That skill is something that I've honed over the years.
00:57:15And it is something that like, yeah, you wonder if it can be put to work out here.
00:57:20And it's a muscle that I guess it has a, there's a natural aspect to it.

00:57:27Kristen, the interesting thing about what Mike just said is, he said, in my job, I have to create things
00:57:32and I have to sell people.
00:57:33I have to almost con them into believing me until I'm able to deliver the finished product and show that
00:57:38it was worth it.

00:57:44But what I'm getting at is, that's a skill every single person needs in this game.
00:57:49What makes it unique with Mike is that that is his actual profession.
00:57:52Well, I'll be honest, I've never heard Mike describe it in that way, that that's part of his job.
00:57:56But like, I can see it.
00:57:58I think that in every one of our professions, there is some kernel we take with us that is useful
00:58:04here on the island.
00:58:06So then, how about for you?
00:58:07From the standpoint of, in your career, things are very black and white, I'm guessing.
00:58:12That you look at things, if I do this, this will happen.
00:58:15Versus out here, it's much more vague.
00:58:17Yeah, I mean, a lot of my perspective has changed after playing Survivor.
00:58:21Or even in my own profession, for sure.
00:58:24I mean, it gave me a lot of ideas for my research, for one.
00:58:28But more broadly, it opened my eyes to when you're working in a world where all the information you have
00:58:36might not be true.
00:58:38How do you investigate what's true and what's not?
00:58:41That's just how it works in all kinds of professions.
00:58:44So, yeah, it does recontextualize things.
00:58:47I mean, I think it makes me more aware.
00:58:49And I think that's a good thing.
00:58:51Emily, how often during an afternoon where you're trying to figure out who to vote out, do you change your
00:58:57mind or consider changing your mind?
00:59:00I think you have to come into conversations with an open mind, which means being open to changing your mind.
00:59:06And I would say it happens half a dozen times.
00:59:09Sometimes it goes A to B and then B back to A and then to D and then to C.
00:59:13And I will say, sitting here in Tribal Council at this exact moment, I am having a sinking feeling.
