The World Health Organization is sounding the alarm: an attack on Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant could trigger a catastrophic nuclear accident.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that targeting nuclear facilities poses "catastrophic risks" with long-term, far-reaching health consequences. The Bushehr plant was reportedly struck on Saturday—the fourth such attack since the US-Israeli offensive began on February 28.

"Any attack on a nuclear site could trigger a nuclear accident," Tedros said on X, adding that the risks grow with each passing day of the war. He called for urgent de-escalation, stating that peace remains "the best medicine."

The war has already caused thousands of deaths and injuries. Iran has responded to US-Israeli strikes with missiles and drones toward Israeli-controlled areas, while also targeting American interests in Arab countries.

The escalation comes despite reports of progress in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, mediated by Oman. Washington and Israel accuse Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons; Tehran insists its program is peaceful. ☢️⚠️🌍
