00:00How about UCLA, Joe?
00:0179-51 over the South Carolina Gamecocks,
00:04who the Gamecocks blasted UConn,
00:07and we had a little bit of extracurricular activities
00:09between the two head coaches,
00:10Gina Armiema and also Dawn Staley,
00:13but apparently that was all the fight the Gamecocks had
00:16because there was no fight against the Bruins.
00:18The Bruins absolutely took them apart in the third quarter,
00:21winning that quarter by 25-9,
00:23and it was a wrap from there.
00:25First national championship for UCLA, Joe.
00:29It's hysterical, Donny,
00:30because every one of their points was scored by its seniors.
00:35I mean, that's kind of crazy right there.
00:38Lauren Betts was the big center there.
00:41She's been there for a long time,
00:43and she came up a little bit short in the Final Four last year,
00:47not this year,
00:48and this was one of those classic situations here
00:51where it felt like whatever South Carolina had left in the tank,
00:55their one goal, their championship was about beating UConn in the Final Four,
01:00and they just didn't have anything left when they took on UCLA.
01:05So, and that was really the,
01:07that was evident from the get-go in that game, Donny.
01:10Yeah, it certainly was.
01:12Absolute blowout.
01:12Let's get to the post-game presser here for the champions.
01:15UCLA.
01:15Any questions for Coach until her time?
01:20Yeah, it's hard to even know what to say.
01:24First of all, thank you to all of you for partnering with us,
01:27you know, for this amazing game.
01:30I remember my dad used to say,
01:32if you can, I mean, he knew I loved to compete.
01:35He goes, if you can take something that you love
01:38and continue to compete
01:39and impact people's hearts in the process,
01:43you found a good thing.
01:44And this has been a calling, not a job,
01:48and I just am like so,
01:50it's just, I've been saying it all day,
01:52but I don't even know how else to say it.
01:53It's immeasurably more than I could ask or imagine.
01:55And so I just am really grateful,
01:57but it's really, it's not about me,
02:00it's about watching these incredible young women be dream chasers,
02:04to watch them grow in ways that they will remember
02:07and it will stick with them for the rest of their lives.
02:09And it's about their work and their habits yielding.
02:13And we say this, we want to recruit courageous.
02:16I'm kissing me, choked up.
02:18Because there's a lot of times where we wondered if it could be true.
02:21I said, I wanted to find uncommon, courageous women
02:24that were willing to make uncommon choices
02:27that maybe possibly could yield an uncommon result.
02:30And today it did.
