00:01An army corporal is facing seven assault charges after allegedly attacking fellow soldiers,
00:06including one who suffered grievous injuries inside a military camp in Bentong last month.
00:1137-year-old Sukritasu appeared before Magistrate Muhammad Ayman Azahan in Bentong on Monday,
00:17where he entered a plea of not guilty to all seven charges.
00:21According to the charges, the incident unfolded at the armory store of Company C,

00:30On the first and most serious charge, Sukrit is accused of causing grievous hurt
00:35to a 24-year-old fellow soldier, Muhammad Amirul Razik Rosafindi, at 8.30am.
00:42That charge is framed under Section 325 of the Penal Code,
00:45which carries a maximum sentence of seven years' imprisonment and a fine upon conviction.
00:50Later that same evening, at around 8.30pm,
00:53six more personnel at the same location are alleged to have been assaulted by the accused.
00:58The victims are aged between 19 and 22.
01:01Those six charges are brought under Section 323 of the Penal Code,
01:05carrying a maximum penalty of one year's imprisonment,
01:08a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
01:11The prosecution proposed bail of RM10,000 for the first charge.
01:15The defence sought a reduction, noting that Sukri, who serves as a storekeeper,
01:19earns a net monthly income of just RM1,800.

01:36until the case is concluded.
01:38The case was fixed for document submission on May 18.
01:49And this is the truth without reason.
