Shocking footage emerges from Iran’s mountainous regions where armed tribesmen reportedly opened fire on U.S. military helicopters during a high-risk rescue mission. The helicopters were searching for crew members of a downed American fighter jet when they came under rifle fire from local fighters.

According to reports, the incident took place in remote areas of southwestern Iran, where tribal groups targeted Black Hawk helicopters involved in the operation.

In one account, a tribesman described firing multiple shots at the helicopter, aiming at the pilot’s window and fuel tank, before the aircraft pulled away. The situation highlights the extreme danger on the ground, where even civilians and local fighters are actively engaging U.S. forces amid escalating tensions in the region.

00:00People's dealings have all become about their own interests.
00:03We were sitting inside our house and we'd always heard these fighter jets making a strange unusual sound.
00:08When they come from that direction, heading for Tehran, Isfahan or any other part of Iran, their sound is always
00:14heard.
00:14If we look outside, we see some of them at a very high altitude and others we don't see at
00:18all.
00:18Just his voice is coming, yes.
00:20Suddenly a sound came. The sound was very close. We came outside.
00:23I saw two helicopters flying back and forth from the other side of the village.
00:27There were also two fighter jets in the entire formation.
00:29One fighter jet went towards Lord again, then circled back and headed this way.
00:33They came down into a valley or a low ridge around our village.
00:36The fighter jet flew extremely low, even lower than the helicopters.
00:40This is how the level rose. This is how it went up.
00:45I had the weapon completely under control.
00:47I had it ready to shoot, to hit the plane, no matter how high it flew.
00:51I'm telling you this because I spent about 30 months in the war zone during the Iran-Iraq war.
00:58How nice.
00:59Then my wife said, don't shoot, don't shoot, they're friendly, don't do this.
01:04So I quickly called the Basish base in Malaj, Malaj sector, Jansaran Jalil.
01:09I told them what was happening.
01:10They said, these are enemies, shoot them, open fire.
01:13They passed by, then on their way back, they cleared the path and returned.
01:17One of them gained altitude.
01:19Fighter jets were chasing them, all of them.
01:22When one of them raised their hand, I fired two shots at one.
01:26I then saw another coming from the valley, from the valley at a very low altitude.
01:30I didn't bother with the others anymore until this one arrived.
01:34I fired a couple of shots at the window or at the clear opening above it.
01:38I shot at the window twice.
01:40I also fired two more shots to explode its cargo.
01:43I aimed and shot directly at its cargo.
01:45I even fired four shots at this particular one.
01:49I actually told my family, I told my children, you absolutely must not come outside.
01:54I'm going to move away.
01:55Keep a safe distance from the house.
01:56If they're going to shoot, they should only hit me, not anyone else.
01:59I absolutely must return fire at them.
02:01I swear to God, I told my own child by his very life not to come.
02:05All of a sudden, as we fired three or four shots, I saw him screaming,
02:07Dad, just shoot.
02:09He was yelling curses at him.
02:11Shoot him, shoot him.
02:12He wouldn't back down.
02:12Shoot.
02:13Dad.
02:15Have you been watching the news these past few days?
02:17Yes.
02:18What was your question?
02:19Why?
02:19Why do you think he was an enemy?
02:21He definitely had to be taken down.
02:24It is his child.
02:25Was that your image they showed from behind?
02:27Yes.
02:28He showed a specific segment of it.
02:29The moment he goes up and then comes right back down shouting, Dad, hit it.
02:33Yeah.
02:33The film wasn't complete where you were hiding behind the pillar.
02:35All this.
02:36Yeah.
02:36This is a continuation that this helicopter then spun from behind the pillar and I hit it twice from this
02:42side of the pillar.
02:42After it spun to this side, I hit it two more times.
02:46The last shot I fired at its window.
02:49It slightly tilted its nose towards me and then went off again.
02:54Yeah.
02:55Everyone there was watching it.
02:56It half turned its cockpit towards me.
02:59Then it moved off again.
03:01He wanted to find out who was shooting.
03:03I don't know.
03:03He panicked.
03:04It lost its grip.
03:06God knows.
03:06But it took a really bad and sudden turn.
03:09I've shot sparrows with this very weapon.
03:12Everyone knows.
03:14So a sparrow for this kid.
03:16Let's go from sparrows to choppers.
03:17Yeah.
03:19Well, a helicopter is something like a Nissan.
03:23This thing, it's just incredibly easy.
03:26I fired four or five rounds at them without a scope.
03:30The last one I shot with a 700 scope.
03:33Also the vent.
03:35Do you mean the vent?
03:36The vent, yes.
03:38Once you understand how far away it is, sir, this thing is at 500 meters.
03:42You'll need to hit it with three or 400.
03:44This has a range of up to 2,000 for the aircraft.
03:46Yes, 2,000 for the aircraft.
03:48So that when it comes, it can just go.
04:16Therefore, you will right now если появ不好意思,
04:20lassiad shoulderが付ければ、さて
04:26buenasセットなど。 You almost
04:27must have trouble. Welcome back.
04:32Seriously. Hello,
04:35Hi. Hi. Hello,
04:37Hello.
05:03Imagine this, villagers with
05:06old hunting rifles, taking aim at one of the most advanced military helicopters on Earth.
05:13Sounds unbelievable, but it's happening right now in Iran.
05:18In the rugged, mountainous region of southwestern Iran, local tribesmen have stepped into an
05:24active conflict zone.
05:26Armed with bolt-action rifles, many of them decades old, these men are firing at low-flying
05:32U.S. Black Hawk helicopters.
05:34These helicopters aren't just flying by, they're part of a high-stakes combat search
05:39and rescue mission.
05:41The trigger, a dramatic aerial incident.
05:44Iran claims it shot down a U.S. fighter jet, believed to be a two-seat aircraft.
05:50Reports suggest both crew members ejected.
05:53One has already been rescued by U.S. forces.
05:56The second pilot is still missing.
05:58And that's when the situation escalated beyond the military.
06:02Iranian authorities called on local tribes and villagers to help locate and capture the
06:07downed pilot.
06:09Soon, videos began circulating online.
06:11You see groups of tribesmen scattered across hills and valleys, dressed in traditional clothing,
06:17looking up at the sky, and firing at distant helicopters.
06:21Above them, U.S. Blackhawks flying low, fast, and deploying defensive flares.
06:27It's a surreal contrast.
06:29Modern military technology versus raw human resistance.
06:34Realistically, it's extremely unlikely.
06:37Blackhawk helicopters are built for combat zones.
06:40They have armor, countermeasures, and electronic defenses designed to handle threats like small
06:46arms fire.
06:47Rifles like these are not meant to take down aircraft, but that doesn't stop the attempts.
06:53Earlier today, Iranian state media reported that an F-35 jet was downed over central Iran.
07:00The American crew reportedly ejected, prompting an immediate U.S. search and rescue operation.
07:06But what was supposed to be a routine recovery mission quickly turned into a dangerous engagement.
07:12According to Tasneem News and IRGC-linked outlets, Iranian air defense systems actively
07:19targeted the U.S. rescue aircraft, including Blackhawk helicopters, C-130s, F-35s, and MQ-9 drones.
07:28The operation was described as precise and coordinated, aimed at preventing the Americans from retrieving
07:34their downed pilots.
