Salvadorans create a salt carpet over 1 km long for Holy Week

Some 2,000 Salvadorans create a colorful 1,070-meter-long carpet made of dyed salt for the Good Friday funeral procession to walk over. "The mega-carpet of San Salvador" was made with 800 quintals of salt that was dyed in shades of 150 colors and is "the largest" of its kind in Central America, says Perseo Medina, coordinator of the Secretariat of Culture of the capital district.
