01:03And for today's game we'll be checking out Stunt Race FX on Super Nintendo.
01:09And this was like, I'd say it wasn't one of my favorite racers on the Super Nintendo.
01:16I love the whole 3D aesthetic.
01:19Thanks to the FX chip, you know, made famous in Star Fox and other 3D games.
01:30So yeah, go ahead and check out the manual itself for Stunt Race FX.
01:37So I've always loved this aesthetic where, like, clay models were supposed to, like, represent some sort of form of
01:443D aesthetic.
01:47It's always been a favorite, like, uh, type of medium for me.
01:55But anyways, yeah, so, got the cover here.
01:58It's also the game label.
02:03But yeah, I love how the monster truck's, like, super aggressive.
02:07Giving the little yellow car a dirty, uh, dirty look.
02:11And he looks scared for his life.
02:14Red one's just hauling ass.
02:16He's like, screw you guys.
02:17I'm out of here.
02:18And then he has a big rig in the back.
02:21He looks equally pissed because he's in last place, probably.
02:26But yeah, let's go ahead and, uh, open her up.
02:30So, got the table of contents.
02:33And the cool little tread marks from tires.
02:43Alright, so we've got some controls actions here.
02:50Ah, man.
02:52I always love how it's, like, so detailed when it comes to these manuals.
02:55Especially when it comes to, like, Nintendo game, like, controls.
03:03Because they show you everything.
03:05It's like, oh, yeah.
03:06Little, uh, graphs, little charts.
03:09Very detailed.
03:11Love that.
03:24All right, moving on.
03:27All right.
03:29Starting the game.
03:32Game selection.
03:37I'll tell you, just the menu fare here.
03:51Moving on to the next page.
03:53All right.
03:56And we've got the car selection.
04:00Little profile for each vehicle.
04:03There's that pissed off, uh, monster truck here.
04:09Yeah, that's pretty cool.
04:11Count on me for stunt driving.
04:15Four-wheel drive engine.
04:17How's that weight?
04:18He is a monster machine with huge tires and great grip performance.
04:25Undeniably, he is the best car to choose for stunt tracks.
04:36All right.
04:37And that's four-wheel drive there.
04:40And then we've got the yellow coupe.
04:43I think that's supposed to be a girl.
04:45Because look at the, look at those, uh, eyelashes there.
04:51For intermediate driver.
04:53Just medium.
04:54So yeah, it has all these stats here.
04:56Body build, acceleration, max speed.
05:00Don't think I'm only built for safe driving.
05:06It's like, we want more speed than four-wheel drive.
05:08And use cube to step it up.
05:11So that's stable performance.
05:12Tight steering.
05:13Boost.
05:14Meter consumption is lower than other cars.
05:16Control well.
05:17Can save a lot.
05:19Boost is a function for increasing the car's speed temporarily.
05:22Drift is churn technique while skidding.
05:26And then we've got the F-Type.
05:29It's like a Formula One car.
05:32That one's pretty cool.
05:33I mean, it looks like a straight-up, like, RC car.
05:37I think that's what I like about the F-Type here.
05:50All right, moving on to the next page.
05:52Oh, and it says, when you're a super driver, try me out.
05:57So I guess, like, in Hydra Thunder, when you use, like...
06:02Ah, I forgot which boat it was.
06:04But, like, the highest-level boat.
06:05And the announcer's like, you're crazy.
06:09Always loved that.
06:12Okay, anyways, moving on.
06:17Oh, yeah, and I forgot there was a motorcycle.
06:19Yeah, two-wheel drive.
06:22You can select two-wheel drive only in free tracks.
06:27Yeah, that's pretty cool.
06:33This is two-wheel car that you can select on free tracks.
06:36However, blah, blah, blah.
06:38LNR for cornering.
06:43Oh, yeah.
06:44There was that big trailer.
06:4718-wheeler here.
06:50So I can hardly wait for the race.
06:52Trailer can only be used in the bonus game.
06:55Trailer of special vehicle.
06:56You can use it only in free tracks.
06:58Bonus game because of the huge size, flexibility, hitch.
07:01Cabin trailer.
07:02He is very hard to drive because his camera angle is different from other cars.
07:06Yeah, that was always an interesting little, like, minigame mode.
07:10For a bonus game, you know.
07:13You know, it's funny.
07:15Like, the character designs for each of the vehicles with the eyes always reminded me of those old-school Chevron
07:22commercials with, like, the cars with the eyes and the mouth.
07:28And they're talking.
07:32Yeah, that's what the character designs remind me of.
07:35So the Chevron cars.
07:38Talking cars.
07:40From, like, back in the day.
07:50Alright.
07:51So now we'll also get players name registration.
07:56My name is FTY.
07:57Fly.
07:58Fly.
08:04Travel cart selection.
08:06After selecting speed tracks.
08:08So select button.
08:10Name registration.
08:11Cart selection.
08:23all right moving on and then we got difficulty or course selection
08:31master class experts and novice
08:39each class has four courses and a bonus game
08:54test run till free tracks becomes available you can select test run as practice mode practice
09:07mode oh that's kind of cool I just realized on the top of each page is the same tread marks
09:12that were
09:13on the table of contents except they run through the whole manual here I like that little detail
09:18as the rule okay more detail about stunt tracks here or actually just selecting the tracks for
09:30stunt tracks the first course that I would recommend is rock field one battle track selected
09:46blah blah blah hmm which way should I go for details reading course beginning page 34
10:07cool little art there like that what was the data box information box this is the best three time
10:15records of course all right little point system for each speed race cup
10:37and heads up display explaining everything loose meter damage meter plotty blue blue blue
10:50imagine if they would have done like a spin-off or it was like a battle racing game where you
10:54had
10:54weapons that would have been wild I wouldn't mind like a twisted metal game in this version or in this
11:06format
11:09damage the car gotta go for that tire no poor little formula one car lost the tire disqualification disqualification and
11:28game over
11:36bonus game
11:38oh yeah so that's the one with the big rig
11:44definitely an interesting bonus game for sure
11:49kind of reminds me of that 18 wheeler game on dreamcast
11:53they can play that one in the arcade and then I guess play it on dreamcast but I never actually
11:57own the game
12:00definitely need to pick it up if I ever find it on the cheap
12:11okay basic course design stunt track this is a one player game try to go through as many
12:15checkpoints as possible so yep got a little map there each course has four areas blah blah blah yeah
12:31a special course if you can reach the goal in all four of the courses you can challenge the special
12:36course and you will control a car from the viewpoint of a radio controlled car
12:40oh no way that's sick oh that is neat okay
12:47don't remember if I unlocked that or played that it's been so long since I have so
12:53yeah I might have to check that out sometime
12:57all right an awesome battle tracks two player mode
13:04you can compete complete against both clock and your opponent simultaneously a one-on-one match
13:10winner is the first driver battle tracks there are no gyms
