00:01No secret the Mets offense is struggling right now just 14 runs in their last six games and with so
00:07many new faces this year you wonder how easy it can be for this group to avoid really pressing as
00:14far as the Giants are concerned they came in the last night last in the major leagues and run score
00:19but they were very aggressive in their approach against David Peterson epitomized by their rookie catcher Daniel Sousa Francisco Lindor
00:27will lead off against Tyler Malley whom the Mets have not
00:29faced since 2019 when he was in his third year with the Reds it's only his third career start against
00:35New York for a two strike hit so Lindor snaps that off to 12 days aboard to start the night
00:44so a lead off single for Lindor and here's Soto you see that all seven games this year so finds
00:49the hole on the right side back to back hits for Lindor and Soto to start the night so Soto's
00:56now hit in all eight games this year the Mets up the table set in the first
00:59first inning so now Bo Bichette who gave the Mets the early lead last night with a run scoring double
01:04probably swung the bat better last night than he has in any game this year robbed of a home run
01:10by Harrison Bader he lined into a double play his last time up and now he gets an RBI opportunity
01:15in the first inning tonight and he lives one in the right center field that's down for a base hit
01:20Lindor turns third he'll score easily Soto goes to third three straight hits for the Mets Bichette drives in a
01:27run and it's one nothing New York
01:28well that's something great to see right there as you said Bo Bichette's been showing signs of getting back to
01:34hit himself which we all thought would happen when he got on the road right there he stays through the
01:38baseball very inside out hitter anyway Mets have been one for 32 with runners in scoring position over the last
01:45four games before that hit by Bichette now Luis Robert and Robert takes ball four so Robert continues to be
01:52discerning and the Giants are going to challenge that call as well and that one missed
01:58so Robert who was called out on the challenge on a 3-2 pitch last night this time the Giants
02:05fail on the challenge and the Mets of the base is loaded with nobody out that's granted back to the
02:09mound now he comes home for one belly on the first for the 1-2-3 double play exactly what
02:16Malley needed he gets to come back or to get two outs and in a spot where they were willing
02:22to give up a run to get the double play
02:25they give the double play without giving up a run and Mark takes a strike and he's going to challenge
02:30that call it appeared to be outside Charlie Ramos the home plate umpire he's already been challenged three times in
02:37this first inning he's one for two and the end doesn't prove to correct it is ball four so the
02:42Mets again have the bases loaded the second walk given up by Malley
02:45Semien snapped an 0 for 20 stretch with an infield hit last night he has two hit three hits this
02:51year two infield singles and a ball lost in the sun so Semien is yet to get untracked hit hard
02:57towards short pass Saddamas in the left field a base hit Bichette is here they're going to hold up Robert
03:02as the throw comes in from left RBI single Marcus Semien what a monkey off his back to give the
03:10Mets a 2-0 lead
03:11talk about a guy that is desperate for a hit just 3-4 23 is a Mets the Mets have
03:18a 2-0 lead that's the good news the bad news is that Juan Soto has come out of this
03:23game something happening to Juan Soto so here's the video of Soto going first to third on the top of
03:30the inning he's grimacing stayed in there it was forced out at the plate definitely looked a little bit of
03:38a grimace and Juan Soto left the game due to right
03:41half tightness certainly you're going to be safe with him right now and Bo Bichette leads off for the match
03:46that leads off and he bangs his second hit of the night so Bichette seen two pitches from Tyler Malley
03:51he singled the right center to drive in a run of the first and now he bangs one in the
03:55center home third inning Harrison Bader leads off for the Giants against Nolan McLean who's retired the first six tonight
04:01and Bader hits one toward the holds cut off nicely by Bichette and he gets the throw right on target
04:07wasn't elegant by Boll but he made it work
04:11and that's the first down we got a broken bat from Bailey and an easy 4-3 put out for
04:15the second out of the inning the counts no balls and two strikes and Encarnacion as he strikes out to
04:21our Encarnacion and
04:22Nolan McLean has gone perfectly through the first three innings fourth inning Mets up to nothing they got both their
04:28runs in the first inning against Tyler Malley and that's lined over short a base hit for Vientos so Mark
04:34just keeps on hitting didn't get opportunities to start the year but he has forced
04:39Carlos Mendoza to keep him in the lineup in time when a lot of the other bats are cold Vientos
04:45has gotten off to a nice start Semien is a guy who over the course of his career has had
04:50trouble getting off to fast starts and the question is at age 35 whether he has the bat speed to
04:57be the kind of hitter he was when he was hitting 45 home runs in the season it's this one
05:01out to center field hit well Bader back on the warning track at the wall it's out of here Marcus
05:07Semien with his first
05:08home run is a New York man a two run shot and it's four nothing New York well and right
05:15on cue Gary he said he doesn't have that 45 home run power and he goes straight away here in
05:21a ballpark it's not easy to go straight away hit that one on a line now you did not give
05:28up many home runs last year gives one up now Alvarez it's one deep to center Bader back at the
05:33wall and it's out of here same spot Francisco Alvarez with his first home run
05:38his second home run of the season five to nothing New York just gives you an idea how deep this
05:44Mets lineup can be once they get going and they've gotten going tonight five runs and eight hits now against
05:51Malley of three and a third that is retired to start the ballgame playing the struck out three which has
06:01helped his pitch can he's at fifty five pitches and it's bounced weakly to the right side McClain picks it
06:06up takes it himself to first base for the
06:08three out fourteen in a row retired for Cowboy Otani they call him quarterback a football player an outfielder he's
06:17an athlete strike three called inside corner frozen solid five perfect innings so far we go to the six that's
06:26a whole lot of zeros on the San Francisco side
06:29Ola McClain perfect through five innings sixty seven pitches give the lower third of the order in the sixth Harrison
06:35Bader and that one stayed inside the ball for the Giants at their first base longer of the night that
06:43was pretty close it was very close and it's inside ball four so back to back walks for the seven
06:50and eight hitters to start the sixth inning so fly out to right for Encarnacion Bader again now third
06:56Bailey stays in first so they're at the corners one out and back to the top of the order with
07:03Willie Adamas this is probably the last inning for Nolan McClain one way or the other at eighty seven pitches
07:08in the air right center field headed toward the gap and that's going to split it and go to the
07:14wall it bounces over the fence for a ground rule double that'll bring in Bader Bailey has to go back
07:20to third the first hit of the game for the Giants is a long ground rule double from Willie Adamas
07:26McClain and McClain at ninety three pitches for the night his work is done five and a third before he
07:32gave up a hit after a couple of walks Adamas with the run scoring double to get the Giants on
07:38the board tremendous night for Nolan McClain but it ends after five and a third now a rise left handed
07:45hitter also and he takes up and in it's away and the Giants are on the board but well it
07:55kind of takes away the sting
07:56from not getting that other run with that ball bounced over the fence and it's a three-run deficit for
08:02the Giants it's got to be a pass ball take it really gets the roll over baby throws it on
08:10target to really and that retires the side that's for the five to two leaders we start the seventh Francisco
08:16Alvarez leads off and Alvarez slugs with a deep left field forget that second home run of the night and
08:22that one goes a long way beyond the ambulance
08:26third home run of the year second of the night for Alvarez six to two New York so the Mets
08:32would hit just five home runs in their first seven games a bit three tonight and they've all come from
08:38the bottom part of the order and Bichette lines one in the right field for his third hit of the
08:42night that one hit it toward the gap cut off by Lee Bichette trying for two and he's in safely
08:48with a double
08:49Lindora stops at third so Bichette two singles and now an opposite field double his second two base into the
08:55year and he puts one in the center field that's going to be down for a base hit Lindora is
09:00in the score Bichette will stop at third Luis Robert down to the count 0-2 just like Bichette gets
09:07himself a base hit to make it 7-2 New York and Vientos dunks one in the right center for
09:12a base hit
09:13the ship comes in the score Bichette has been on base four times tonight as RBI single makes it 8
09:20-2 New York
09:22well
09:23the seagulls have found their prey
09:27pizza goal garlic fries but pizza pizza in the house
09:31it's the pizza goal
09:32oh they're sharing
09:34see they know the unwritten rule
09:37they've made no to share and they know to come down between innings rather than coming down while the game
09:42is going on Encarnacion at third Adamas at first
09:47little pop up shallow center field
09:51and it falls and the rise is going to have a hit and an RBI and the Giants get the
09:57break and the breaking ball hit the short
09:59in comes Lindor and makes the play to retire the side Brett Beatty is the only Met not to reach
10:05base tonight
10:06that's lined the other way by Beatty Ramos comes on and can't get it
10:09it goes all the way back to the wall Robert Grayson for third he's going to be waved around by
10:15Tim Laper
10:15Beatty stops at second with an RBI double ball gets loose but backed up by Chapman
10:22Brett Beatty after a rough night has himself an opposite field double the drive and a run to make it
10:289-3
10:29New York rolled over to the right side a rise we'll get the out of second no chance to double
10:35a binge
10:35and Beatty comes home with the 10th Mets run of the night
10:38Garcia with the sweeper picks up his first strikeout and the Giants are down to their final out of the
10:43night
10:44fly ball right field Ben just against the ground turns around and finds it and that is the way this
10:50one ends
10:52almost a perfect night for the Mets smart only by the injury concern to Juan Soto but Nolan McLean
10:58was spectacular the Mets breakout with a big night Alvarez two home runs Bichette at three hits
11:06semi and a home run three RBI's as the Mets went at 10 to 3.
