00:00We're talking about US military at the moment inside of Iran and possibly being shot down,
00:07which we do know that has been confirmed. But as you said, it could have been a technical failure.
00:13But this war is hugely unpopular in America. And that's according to all the polling data
00:20that has come out in the recent weeks. How is Donald Trump going to get people on side
00:26if more US military servicemen die in this conflict?
00:31Well, I think we don't wish this, but I think Iran strikes against our forces or Americans
00:38will actually move public opinion in favour of punishing Iran. I think that's been the course in the past.
00:47I think the president has laid out a compelling case. Keep in mind, Leanne, that the vast majority
00:52of Republicans in his base support. And we also have to understand that President Trump,
00:59even before this conflict, opinion polls among independents and Democrats is always
01:05challenging, to say the least. And it's been the case for all presidents in modern history.
01:10So you have at least 40 percent of the country always against the president, anything he does.
01:16So we have to keep that in mind. But I am proud of him because he's doing what is right.
01:23He's staying
01:23the course and not being swayed by public opinion polls. Ultimately, had public opinion polls dictated
01:31the conflict in World War II, we wouldn't have entered the conflict, or certainly Britain wouldn't have.
01:37So I really believe that when there's a commitment from a leader to set the course straight,
01:43ultimately, the dividends will pay off. It's a question, and he's laid it out for the American people.
01:50We have to pay a price now, or we're going to pay a much higher price in the future with
01:54a nuclear-empowered Iran.
