00:00:00How much money have I given away over my career?
00:00:02$10,000.
00:00:03$70,000.
00:00:05$456,000!
00:00:07$20,000!
00:00:09Somewhere over $100 million.
00:00:10Very few people know what a day of my life is like.
00:00:13No one knows what 45 days are like.
00:00:15How are we doing, Jimmy?
00:00:16It's nap time.
00:00:18John, it's 5 a.m.
00:00:19And we're still not done filming?
00:00:21Good night.
00:00:24What you're about to see is 45 days of my life.
00:00:27This is going to be one of our most reveals.
00:00:28If something can go wrong, it will go wrong.
00:00:30We're in a really bad spot.
00:00:31YouTube shoots.
00:00:32Better be a banger!
00:00:33Beast games.
00:00:34Do you ever get emotionally attached to the contestants?
00:00:36Like, that would hurt.
00:00:37My personal life.
00:00:37Some of the lowest points of my life,
00:00:39some of the highest points of my life,
00:00:40on display like never before.
00:00:43Do you still enjoy doing this?
00:00:45Depends on the day.
00:00:46I might be filming in five separate states tomorrow.
00:00:48Guys, pray for me.
00:00:49If you like the BTS on my channel,
00:00:51these are the extended cuts.
00:00:52Here we go.
00:00:53I'm the director.
00:00:54I'm one of the executive producers.
00:00:55Showrunner.
00:00:55I met Jimmy.
00:00:56We were both about eight years old.
00:00:58We had one leak.
00:00:59This massive building is a sound stage for the Beast game.
00:01:02We had someone sneak into our set.
00:01:04John hits the hardest question.
00:01:05Yeah, that's what no one else will.
00:01:06That's why I told him to hang around.
00:01:08Which of the news articles about you hurt the most?
00:01:10Oh, boy.
00:01:10Season one was tens of millions of dollars over budget.
00:01:13Yeah.
00:01:13Whoops.
00:01:14We have an imminent bad weather situation.
00:01:17And it was the biggest storm in decades.
00:01:18It was pouring and lightning.
00:01:20Seconds away from dumping over a couple of million dollars worth of beer.
00:01:24Oh, my God.
00:01:25All that water could break.
00:01:26Jimmy, pause.
00:01:27Jimmy, pause.
00:01:27All power and control room went down.
00:01:29We didn't know if that footage was gone.
00:01:31We got a problem.
00:01:32I never get this kind of accident.
00:01:34I'm a little scared.
00:01:36Welcome to week one.
00:01:43Let's do this.
00:01:44Do you remember what you told me right after Beast game season one ended?
00:01:54If he guesses correctly, he will win.
00:01:57Ten million dollars.
00:01:59Are you actually going to want to lock in number six?
00:02:02Or do you want to keep investigating?
00:02:04I'm locking it in.
00:02:06Did you read her like a book?
00:02:07Oh, my gosh.
00:02:08This would be crazy.
00:02:09What?
00:02:10What?
00:02:12What?
00:02:12What?
00:02:13Whoa!
00:02:15How did he know?
00:02:16What?
00:02:17What are the odds?
00:02:18Oh, my God.
00:02:19Such a good moment.
00:02:21Oh, my God.
00:02:21Oh, my God.
00:02:22Oh, my God.
00:02:23You earned $10 million.
00:02:25That's good.
00:02:26You just won $10 million.
00:02:28And you're the first winner of Beast game.
00:02:3010 million.
00:02:32How do you top this?
00:02:34I mean, this is great.
00:02:35But, yeah.
00:02:38There are plenty of ways to top this.
00:02:40Crazier than this.
00:02:41Oh, yeah.
00:02:42No doubt about it.
00:02:43Way better.
00:02:44This is great.
00:02:45As we see 10 million and all these world records.
00:02:48At that moment, I was obviously thinking the sets could have been better.
00:02:51The, you know, we were also tens of millions of dollars over budget at that moment.
00:02:55I was also thinking, yeah, maybe we don't burn a small fortune while filming this.
00:02:59I pulled reviews from some of the harshest critics of season one.
00:03:02Okay.
00:03:03A demonstration of how money alone can't buy truly entertaining television.
00:03:06I mean, at the end of the day, like, I love season one.
00:03:09Now, I agree, though.
00:03:10It's not perfect.
00:03:11But to act like it's terrible is just absurd.
00:03:13You know what I mean?
00:03:15To a big mess of chaotic, shaky camera angles and awkward interviews.
00:03:19With some CGI sparkles added on top in a desperate attempt to impress us.
00:03:25Can you read the Rotten Tomatoes reviews?
00:03:27The audience scores 88%.
00:03:29Critics score 20%.
00:03:31I think, at the end of the day, this was our first attempt.
00:03:35Like, you gotta remember, we've only filmed YouTube videos.
00:03:37Does any of this fuel you for season two?
00:03:40Like, do you want to prove them wrong?
00:03:42I think it will hurt a little more on season two, because I've said this before.
00:03:45I thought season one would be, like, the perfect competition show ever.
00:03:48It's bigger, larger prizes, more contestants, world records.
00:03:51But I think season two is going to be what I thought season one would be.
00:03:54So I think it would hurt a little more if I got blatantly mean comments like this on season two.
00:04:00I think season two could make a run for an Emmy.
00:04:08Yeah, that's funny.
00:04:10So you're making a short while you're running away.
00:04:12Progressively, more and more money.
00:04:13It's ironic, because most people going into a show this ginormous,
00:04:16I mean, the biggest unscripted show ever, budget-wise, set-wise,
00:04:20probably would have taken a couple weeks off mentally prepared for it.
00:04:23And I'm having non-stop Olympic-level sprinting, burning myself to the max going into it.
00:04:31Yeah.
00:04:32Yeah.
00:04:36Two, one.
00:04:43All right, I'm going to pitch it.
00:04:44So we have 100 smart people, and then there's a reveal.
00:04:47How epic.
00:04:48The whole thing's moving while they're climbing up.
00:04:50That's the craziest idea I think I've heard all day.
00:04:52That's good.
00:04:55Leading up to Peace Games, I was filming a multi-million dollar video
00:04:58where we had a person trapped in a private jet.
00:05:00He stayed in it.
00:05:00He kept it.
00:05:01Then I shot for a different video where we had two people trapped in a prison for 100 days.
00:05:04We did it!
00:05:07Jimmy, what's this year today?
00:05:08We're at the gym that Steph just built.
00:05:10Can I introduce you to somebody?
00:05:13Just trying not to draw too much attention.
00:05:15You got Mr. Peace in the building.
00:05:19I'm Mr. Beef right there?
00:05:20Yeah.
00:05:21Jimmy's about to do the halftime show at the All-Star Game.
00:05:23He went 100 grand right here.
00:05:29Obviously, since I run a chocolate company, I'm always trying other different chocolate
00:05:32products.
00:05:33I want to see what's out there in the markets.
00:05:34Jimmy is checking out his feastable display.
00:05:39How's it going London?
00:05:41There are so many people lined up here.
00:05:44They're giving away these limited edition feastable bars.
00:05:46They're literally shutting down the streets of London.
00:05:49Police escort.
00:05:50All these crowds are coming.
00:05:52The only time that people get police escort is for the Prime Minister.
00:05:55This is crazy.
00:05:57We were doing a video where we were comparing a $1 bunker to the most expensive bunker in
00:06:01the world.
00:06:01I was in Kansas for that.
00:06:03Flew back to give a workout.
00:06:05We had bouncy dogs try to find army forces in a junkyard and whoever they found last got
00:06:10money.
00:06:10I might be filming in five separate states tomorrow.
00:06:12Guys, pray for me.
00:06:13I need to finish this before Beast Games.
00:06:15Basically, I had to wrap filming a ton of main channel videos because once Beast Games
00:06:20started, I had to disappear for 45 days.
00:06:22We're going to see if the fastest animal on earth can beat the fastest car on earth.
00:06:26Get back in.
00:06:27Jesus, they're so fast.
00:06:29That was close.
00:06:30Maybe like a second difference.
00:06:32I almost had it.
00:06:35How are we doing, Jimmy?
00:06:36Nap time.
00:06:37John, you want to see my bed?
00:06:39It was horrible.
00:06:40I wasn't sleeping that much.
00:06:41I was just grinding away.
00:06:43Good man.
00:06:45Yeah.
00:06:46Whoops.
00:06:50This is insane.
00:06:51While I was on my way to Vegas, the team had already been spending months building an entire
00:06:55set in a freaking desert.
00:06:57The giant spectacle that's on camera needs a giant spectacle behind camera to keep it
00:07:03all going.
00:07:04A thousand plus people moving around.
00:07:06Twenty different power generators, trailers, offices, round the clock catering in a mess
00:07:12hall that could sit a thousand people.
00:07:14We have as much gear, if not a little bit more than the Olympics uses.
00:07:17I've produced a lot of different shows.
00:07:19America's Got Talent, Wipeout, Lip Sync Battle.
00:07:23Beast Games doesn't compare to any traditional kind of TV shows.
00:07:28So, here's what we're up against right now.
00:07:31When you look in there, it looks really scary, because it looks like it's going to be like
00:07:34two weeks before we're ready.
00:07:36I'm trying to push people as quickly as possible.
00:07:38Klitsner is one of the few people that matches my freakish energy of getting into the details,
00:07:43caring about every little thing.
00:07:44I think a good chunk of his role is just going around and finding the fires and fixing them.
00:07:48I feel the pressure of every part of this show being successful on my shoulders.
00:07:53We had one leak, and somebody wrote a thing in Vegas about, like,
00:07:58hey, Beast Games is shooting in this big building.
00:08:00We do know, though, that this massive building is a soundstage for the Beast Games.
00:08:06We can't put up a sign that says, Mr. Beast Production,
00:08:09because everybody at the airport is going to look at that and go, oh, Mr. Beast.
00:08:12So, we were like, hey, Summer Camp.
00:08:16Right now, we're at the airport.
00:08:17The first contestants are about to arrive for Summer Camp,
00:08:21which is the code name for Beast Games.
00:08:23And that code, and what it turned into was kind of special.
00:08:26I'm excited to be at Summer Camp.
00:08:29You gonna win it all?
00:08:29I feel like I'm gonna be a killer.
00:08:31I'm going on the show to win the money,
00:08:33donate my liver right afterwards to my best friend who has cancer.
00:08:35I've been practicing by doing six-foot lache jumps,
00:08:38press handstands, handstand push-ups, dead hangs.
00:08:41I love my son, 18 months old, sweaty.
00:08:44I'm doing this for me.
00:08:46And already you're gonna feel like,
00:08:47this is what I would expect in a Mr. Beast video.
00:08:50So, you're already subconsciously getting your contestants in the mindset.
00:08:55Get ready now.
00:08:56One of you in this room will win $5 million.
00:09:01We have hundreds of thousands of people who want to be here.
00:09:04We chose the best 200.
00:09:07200 contestants.
00:09:09From the moment they arrived at the airport today,
00:09:12that is their first steps into the competition.
00:09:15You are the show.
00:09:17We are undertaking the biggest show that will be shot in 2025.
00:09:22The things we do are unlike anything that has ever been done before.
00:09:26We're still doing a lot of building in there right now.
00:09:29We're dealing with fires every day, but that's what we do.
00:09:32We're problem solvers.
00:09:33We're making the world's biggest competition.
00:09:37And we just happen to be filming it.
00:09:39It's time to introduce the theme of Beast Games 2,
00:09:42Strong vs. Smart.
00:09:48We put them through the car wash, which is like, you know, getting fitted for an outfit,
00:09:52taking pictures, giving their hero shots, getting pre-interviews with them.
00:09:56We're going to also take away their cell phone.
00:09:58Our goal this season was, through the casting process,
00:10:00to find people with superlatives.
00:10:04We had some of the smartest contestants in the world.
00:10:06There was the human calculator.
00:10:08Someone that memorized, like, what was it, a thousand digits of pot.
00:10:113.1.1.5.9.2.6.5.3.5.8.9.7.9.3.2.3.8.4.6
00:10:14.6.4.3.
00:10:15Dude, what the heck is that even?
00:10:17And then we had these, like, giant mammoth people.
00:10:20Huge muscles, strongest of the strong.
00:10:22Get the ambulance ready.
00:10:23You got to pull.
00:10:24Come on.
00:10:25I'm a professional wrestler, so I just go around the country beating dudes up.
00:10:28Five-time world's strongest man.
00:10:30We had American Ninja Warriors.
00:10:32The frickin' strong team over here is trying to challenge me to do a push-up contest.
00:10:35Okay.
00:10:35Oh, okay.
00:10:36All right.
00:10:36Two.
00:10:39Three.
00:10:39Three.
00:10:39We're gonna show these strong people we can do a push-up, too.
00:10:42I want you to channel all that childhood trauma.
00:10:45Go!
00:10:47They might know how to count, but we know how to count by 45s, right?
00:10:52We really did our best to basically give Jimmy the opportunity to go up and go,
00:10:57who are you?
00:10:58And they go, I am a rocket scientist.
00:11:00And then we go, wow.
00:11:01I immediately now could resonate at minimum with who you are as a person.
00:11:06By the way, that's like 101.
00:11:08That's how behind we were in season one.
00:11:11Tyler, in one word, creative genius.
00:11:14I get two words.
00:11:15I don't care.
00:11:16He started off as a janitor cleaning for like eight bucks an hour.
00:11:19After working with him for a summer, I was like, you should drop out of college and come work here
00:11:24full-time.
00:11:24You're pretty creative.
00:11:25And Tyler was like, you know what, screw it.
00:11:26And ended up dropping out.
00:11:27So I just put him on my hip for five, six years and just taught him everything I knew.
00:11:30And after a while, he just became like a second me.
00:11:35We're about to go to dinner with all the contestants.
00:11:37We could spend over $500,000 tonight.
00:11:40Just to get him in the mindset of what Beast Games is.
00:11:42So it's going to be a little bit of fun tonight.
00:11:43Here we go.
00:11:46The welcome dinner, it had a spark to it.
00:11:48It's a bunch of people who for the last days, weeks, months have been fantasizing about what it would be
00:11:54like to be at Beast Games.
00:11:55Now we got all the contestants here in this restaurant.
00:11:58How's it going?
00:11:59How you guys doing?
00:12:02Excited?
00:12:02Perfect!
00:12:05Jimmy has generously given all of you a gift of $1,000.
00:12:13Now that you all know you have $1,000, if over a hundred of you say yes, we'll flip a
00:12:18coin and do double or nothing.
00:12:25Raise your hand if you want us to flip the coin.
00:12:30Flip the coin! Flip the coin! Flip the coin!
00:12:34Flip the coin!
00:12:34For double or nothing!
00:12:40Timber! Timber! Timber! Timber! Timber! Timber! Timber! Timber!
00:12:44Timber! Timber!
00:12:46Oh, it's good.
00:12:48Oh, no!
00:12:53Unfortunately, you have lost out on the $1,000 gift that Jimmy has.
00:12:57Just give him $1,000 anyways. I feel that.
00:13:09I had breakfast with Jimmy. A little nerve-wracking because his question to me was,
00:13:14I need you to tell me why Beast Games cost so much.
00:13:16Episode one's going to be a beggar!
00:13:18We give away tens of millions of dollars in prizing that no one else does.
00:13:23But on top of that, every set that we build and use once, a traditional TV show would use for
00:13:28an entire series, ten episodes.
00:13:30We use it for one episode, sometimes half an episode.
00:13:33Still needs a lot of work.
00:13:34We had a mandate from Beast. You guys need to be on budget this season. End of story.
00:13:38Last year, we were massively over budget. This year, we're trying to be on budget.
00:13:41But I can't lose money this time. I can't.
00:13:45So, we took that very seriously.
00:13:47How did you do that?
00:13:48I'm a f***ing wizard.
00:13:50Well, that's obviously what we pay Miller for.
00:13:52And so, that's where I've noticed you kind of, your brain has to be in a certain zone.
00:13:56So, if you're in production mindset, you're not going to be as creative as possible.
00:14:00When I'm on set, I need to be in creative mode. I need to be thinking about how do I
00:14:02maximize the content.
00:14:03I don't think a lot of the overages we did on season one necessarily equated to better content.
00:14:07So, this season, I mean, we're spending millions more on screen.
00:14:11I mean, we have a camera that costs half a million dollars that Marvel uses.
00:14:15That gives me a little heart palpitation early on because I know everybody falls in love with these ideas.
00:14:21And then it's like, we got to start dialing it back to stay within budget.
00:14:39Holy cow, dude.
00:14:42Yeah.
00:14:43Holy.
00:14:48When you think of a desert in Vegas, you don't think of a rain storm.
00:14:51What the heck?
00:14:52You know what I mean?
00:14:53This was a wild weather day.
00:14:55We had record rainfall.
00:14:57We farted by rain thunder, even hail.
00:15:00They were calling it like a freak storm of the half century.
00:15:04And we got an alert.
00:15:05We all sheltered in place.
00:15:06Set doesn't happen.
00:15:08And it happened.
00:15:09We're already a day behind and we're on day one.
00:15:12All right, I'm going to be on set in like 15 minutes.
00:15:14Like, this is all happening in real time.
00:15:16More storms moving through the valley today.
00:15:17This one dropping heavy rain and dime-sized hail.
00:15:21First thing on my mind is I need to get in a good headspace before I get there.
00:15:26Because I don't want people to see that I'm nervous.
00:15:29Rain came in.
00:15:31Rain was pouring really hard.
00:15:34It actually groped through our set.
00:15:36Everything was pristine last night.
00:15:37Now, not so much.
00:15:39Like, the thunderstorm definitely came through here and it's eating up everyone's time.
00:15:44And the tent is like breaking.
00:15:46There's stuff flying off over there.
00:15:48It looks pretty bad.
00:15:49What are the chances we don't film tonight?
00:15:52Chances we don't film?
00:15:54Everything.
00:15:55Just saw that lightning.
00:15:5780% we're not going to film.
00:15:5820% we have a shot of filming.
00:16:00If we are here for another day, how many hundreds of thousands of dollars will that cost?
00:16:05This could trigger a few hundred thousand all the way to potentially a million or two dollars.
00:16:11The storm really messed up a lot of the circuitry, a lot of the electronics,
00:16:14and caused a lot of delays that pushed things into the last minute.
00:16:17And every day we were delayed.
00:16:18I think it was like a million dollars in pushed plane fees.
00:16:21Because we were chartering so many planes to move equipment.
00:16:23It's like half a million dollar in crew fees.
00:16:25It's all this stuff.
00:16:26So we're on such a crazy tight timeline.
00:16:28Yeah, that storm was pretty brutal.
00:16:30That's where the morale gets low.
00:16:31Because then you have a thousand people that are working on the set.
00:16:35And like, am I actually working for something that's just going to get tanked?
00:16:38It woke us up.
00:16:39For a moment I thought we wouldn't have in episode one.
00:16:41We're running out of time.
00:16:43Yeah.
00:16:43I don't want to be in a rush situation.
00:16:45Rule number one.
00:16:46If something can go wrong, it will go wrong.
00:16:48And you just got to roll with it.
00:16:49It happens.
00:16:51It thundered.
00:16:51Safety said we couldn't have people in the metal building for five hours.
00:16:55Ruined all our plans.
00:16:56But here we are.
00:16:57We're just starting a little later.
00:16:58It's 1 p.m.
00:16:598 a.m.
00:17:00A.m.
00:17:01It's 1 a.m.
00:17:011 a.m.
00:17:02What did I say?
00:17:02A p.m.
00:17:03Oh, I don't know.
00:17:04I'm tired.
00:17:07Like I'm walking into like a football arena.
00:17:11Is there anything that could go wrong?
00:17:13Yeah.
00:17:13Like it seems that you guys are...
00:17:14Yeah.
00:17:14What do you mean?
00:17:15Yeah.
00:17:15There's a million things.
00:17:16Like we, right now, we have 2 hours and 10 minutes to film a game that's projected to
00:17:20take 5 hours.
00:17:22We are in a really bad spot.
00:17:23The challenge is about to begin, guys.
00:17:25Alright.
00:17:27Yeah.
00:17:28Hundreds of millions of people might watch you.
00:17:31Be yourself.
00:17:32You can't take things back when it's being recorded by a thousand cameras.
00:17:36Be smart.
00:17:37Is that cool?
00:17:38Yeah.
00:17:39Woo!
00:17:39Woo!
00:17:41Hey, Sean.
00:17:42I'm getting to the point where I just don't care about anything other than starting.
00:17:46Can you get on the mic clips and say, we're rolling in like 2 minutes.
00:17:49Everyone in their place is now on the deck.
00:17:51Everybody get in the places now on the deck.
00:17:53We are rolling in 2 minutes.
00:17:55All cameras rolling, please.
00:17:56And then rolling.
00:17:57Here we go, everybody.
00:17:58Come on.
00:17:58Control room.
00:17:59Six months of preparation.
00:18:021,100 crew members to pull this off.
00:18:07All right.
00:18:08In 3, 2, 1, go.
00:18:11Once again, I am standing on $5 million of real cash.
00:18:16And competing for this $5 million for 100 of the strongest people on the planet.
00:18:22We're going to the city one way or another.
00:18:25I don't care what it takes.
00:18:27Alongside 100 of the smartest people on the planet.
00:18:31You were confident when we met you at the airport.
00:18:32Now you're nervous.
00:18:34It's a little bit more real now.
00:18:36Welcome to Season 2 of Beast Games.
00:18:41Send us up.
00:18:43Let's have some fun.
00:18:44Notice how the floor is getting further and further away.
00:18:49You're the head of camera, right?
00:18:50Right.
00:18:51The DP for the series.
00:18:52Yeah.
00:18:52What are you looking for in a shot this important?
00:18:54We're looking to cover reactions when the set raises.
00:18:57We're going to bring the stage up at 40 feet and blow these people's minds.
00:19:05Oh!
00:19:06How many cameras do we have here rolling?
00:19:08Four hundred and eight.
00:19:09We have all our main cameras here and then our GoPros.
00:19:12Once we get really good one-liners, then we're going to go right into gameplays.
00:19:16My gosh.
00:19:17You know what's really easy to do?
00:19:19Congratulations.
00:19:20You 50 just made it to the next round.
00:19:22Let's go back and talk about what you were thinking about right before the challenge.
00:19:26Most shows will do that.
00:19:28They'll sit just like this and they'll go, man, you know, when I was in the middle of that challenge,
00:19:33man, this is what I was thinking.
00:19:34We don't do that.
00:19:35We do, hey, Jimmy just announced the rules.
00:19:39What are you thinking?
00:19:41If this is it, tell my wife I love her.
00:19:43I fear one thing.
00:19:44That's God.
00:19:45Amen.
00:19:45All you have to do is climb down the road, grab the blocks, come back up, and put them in
00:19:51the order I tell you.
00:19:52I don't want to look down.
00:19:53Wait.
00:19:54You could be eliminated right now.
00:19:55What's going on in your head?
00:19:56You got to pull the weight up to get the cue.
00:20:00This is as real as it gets to be able to talk about what you're feeling in the moment, about
00:20:04a challenge that's coming up, potentially for $5 million being thrown out the window if you lose.
00:20:10That's real.
00:20:11Two.
00:20:12One.
00:20:12Go!
00:20:18They're up.
00:20:18They're going.
00:20:19All right, everyone is now climbing down their trap door.
00:20:22Let's see who the first 50 to come up are.
00:20:26People, finish.
00:20:27We have a finisher.
00:20:28One win.
00:20:28I think he might be the first one up.
00:20:30No, you have the team.
00:20:31Oh, wait, number two.
00:20:33Oh, you were the second.
00:20:34Wow, there's actually a lot of people struggling to get it.
00:20:37Oh, great shot.
00:20:43Come on, use your legs.
00:20:44There's nine more spots.
00:20:46Five million dollars.
00:20:47Dig deep.
00:20:48There have been people down there for like 15 minutes.
00:20:51I don't know how they're still hanging on.
00:20:52The strong game had a hundred contestants and we needed 50 people to make it through.
00:20:59You couldn't have less, couldn't have more.
00:21:01Uh-oh, she's slipping.
00:21:05I'm sorry.
00:21:1141 are through.
00:21:12Wow, we're not going to get there.
00:21:13Who would have thought that despite having a hundred of these giant mammoth people,
00:21:18huge muscles, strongest of the strong,
00:21:22that over half of them didn't even complete it,
00:21:24which blows my mind.
00:21:26We ran so many tests.
00:21:28We had people that were very strong try it,
00:21:30people that were weak, heavy, light, and day of,
00:21:33adrenaline hits, sweaty hands, you know, it's unscripted.
00:21:37I needed 50 human beings to make it back up with their blocks,
00:21:42and 42 made it up.
00:21:45Well, if 50 aren't going to make it,
00:21:46does that mean you're going to give more of the smart team?
00:21:48No, and so we've got a tie-breaker rule.
00:21:50Okay, so we're about to go to a tie-breaker rule.
00:21:53Everybody in push-up positions.
00:21:55And so our backup plan was doing a push-up contest
00:21:58because it was a very simple way to showcase strength.
00:22:00So everyone you see here are people that either didn't go or fell down.
00:22:05We're starting off with the women to get us to 25 women,
00:22:08then we're doing the guys to get us to 25 guys.
00:22:10Down, up, down, up.
00:22:13Up!
00:22:14Do you worry that this may not be the most interesting content?
00:22:17Like, this isn't the most visual after going from that to this.
00:22:20This will never make the show.
00:22:22Oh, really?
00:22:22Yeah.
00:22:23It's kind of confusing.
00:22:24And if they wanted to see the deep dive,
00:22:26watch the BTS video, you know?
00:22:28If you're in push-up position, welcome to Beast City.
00:22:33Congratulations.
00:22:36How did someone this large win?
00:22:38Let's go!
00:22:39Can I be honest?
00:22:40A lot of what you just watched almost didn't make the final cut of this video
00:22:44as we edited it.
00:22:45And that's not because of the footage,
00:22:46but because the music almost wasn't right.
00:22:48Like, watch this.
00:22:49If you're in push-up position, welcome to Beast City.
00:22:54Congratulations.
00:22:57It's the same edit, same story, but completely different feeling.
00:23:00And that's all because of the music.
00:23:02And that's why I love using today's sponsor, Epidemic Sound.
00:23:05I've been using them for years now to find the best music and sound effects

00:23:45Alright, back to the video.
00:23:46Contestants, come on in.
00:23:48Let's play the next game.
00:23:49We got to the small table.
00:23:51She has the same IQ as Albert Einstein.
00:23:54I'm going to stack a random assortment of blocks into a tower.
00:23:58And once I knock it over,
00:24:00you'll have 60 seconds to recreate that tower
00:24:03using the blocks on your platform.
00:24:05Our first block is yellow,
00:24:08and our final block is green.
00:24:12Have fun!
00:24:14Alright, reveal the results!
00:24:17Your tower was still standing when the timer hits zero.
00:24:21Okay.
00:24:22Well, like we do with every single game on this show,
00:24:24we have a ton of people in the control room,
00:24:25lawyers, fact check all the eliminations
00:24:27to make sure they're accurate.
00:24:28This is the verification process.
00:24:30We have our producers.
00:24:31They've all got an individual iPad.
00:24:33That iPad displays a photo
00:24:35that was taken off their block stack
00:24:38at the moment the clock hits zero.
00:24:40I don't think people realize
00:24:41how many millions of dollars we spend
00:24:43to ensure these games are fair,
00:24:44and how high of a rigorous standard
00:24:47these games are held to.
00:24:48I mean, we have independent third parties,
00:24:50lawyers, everyone reviewing games, compliance.
00:24:53We'll be doing this over and over again,
00:24:55adding more and more blocks
00:24:56until 50 of you are eliminated.
00:25:00Four blocks, they got them all right.
00:25:02Six blocks, they got them all right.
00:25:03And then Jimmy was like,
00:25:05this is too easy.
00:25:06And I'm like, yeah, no one's out.
00:25:07This is too easy.
00:25:08Four blocks! Four blocks!
00:25:10We're cutting the time in half
00:25:12and adding four extra blocks.
00:25:16Have fun!
00:25:23Oh, it's populated with a lot of red squares.
00:25:25Hey, maybe over 50 people got out.
00:25:27I don't know why we did it.
00:25:28That eliminated more people than we needed.
00:25:30Like, it was a disaster.
00:25:31So 18 got it right.
00:25:32What do you want to do?
00:25:33Obviously, we have compliance.
00:25:34It's like telling us exactly
00:25:36how to navigate something like this.
00:25:37So now they sit crisscross
00:25:38in the middle of the floor, confused a little bit.
00:25:41And then we then play a handful of other rounds
00:25:43to try to get it down.
00:25:43Last round, obviously, I got a little carried away.
00:25:47So this time, I'm going to give you guys 60 seconds
00:25:51to do 10 blocks instead of 30.
00:25:53Number 13.
00:25:55Red.
00:25:56And the final block.
00:25:58Blue.
00:26:00Three.
00:26:01Two.
00:26:02Blue.
00:26:03It's going to be the final round.
00:26:05Let's see how they're doing.
00:26:09Two.
00:26:10One.
00:26:10Hands off.
00:26:11One of the primary roles that I have on the show
00:26:14is to manage the budget and the time.
00:26:17The time that we do everything.
00:26:18When we were doing the blocks game,
00:26:20I'm living in that moment right now.
00:26:22Like, sweating bullets.
00:26:23Like, guys, we've spent twice what we were budgeted to today.
00:26:27And we're still going.
00:26:28And we're still going.
00:26:29This is why we take an incredibly long time
00:26:31to review every single one.
00:26:33How much longer do you think we'll go tonight?
00:26:34I don't know what's going on.
00:26:36Look outside.
00:26:37Like, it is, like, 6 a.m.
00:26:40The sun is, like, coming out.
00:26:42And that means that the set is going to start to look different
00:26:45because sunlight is seeping through.
00:26:47They're sending construction workers to, like,
00:26:48patch up the holes in the set.
00:26:52All right.
00:26:53The result is...
00:26:55And you, 50, are moving on to the city!
00:27:00Congratulations!
00:27:02Welcome to the Top 100 of Grease Games!
00:27:16I definitely made myself proud.
00:27:19And I hope I made everybody else proud, too, like my parents.
00:27:24Like, it was just such a surreal moment.
00:27:26Because when I came up, I heard Jimmy running around.
00:27:29And he was like,
00:27:30Oh, I think this is the first one.
00:27:31This is the first one.
00:27:32And I finally look around, and I realize there's nobody else.
00:27:35And he was talking about me.
00:27:36Got it.
00:27:37So the confidence is revived.
00:27:38And, um, I don't know.
00:27:40I'm ready to destroy some other contestants, to be honest.
00:27:55Tyler, what's about to happen right now?
00:27:57Bro, they're about to walk in the city for the first time.
00:27:59Let's just put the strongest in the front,
00:28:01smartest next to them.
00:28:02Okay.
00:28:08Welcome to the city!
00:28:14It's the world's largest music!
00:28:19This is insane!
00:28:22I am so blessed and grateful to be here,
00:28:24and I'm so happy I applied.
00:28:27This is literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
00:28:30Jimmy, did you ever think growing up in Greenville
00:28:32that you'd be able to build your own city here?
00:28:36No, to be honest.
00:28:37I have a town inside the town now.
00:28:39You know how crazy that is?
00:28:41I mean, during the day, you'll see,
00:28:42we brought in a ton of trailers, offices, catering,
00:28:45our own water supply, and a new control room
00:28:47to basically build one of the largest basecams ever
00:28:49for TV production.
00:28:52I'm here with Steven, who's one of the designers of Beast City.
00:28:55How many months did it take to build all of this?
00:28:57Just under two months of construction,
00:28:59starting with groundswork and then concrete.
00:29:01Last year, the jump-up was like a doom city.
00:29:04And this year, they wanted more of a futuristic utopia.
00:29:07So we've got video game references,
00:29:08we've got sci-fi movie references.
00:29:11So we only had four weeks to get all of the designs
00:29:13roughly together.
00:29:14They continued to evolve a little bit after we built,
00:29:16but we had to be budgeted, concept-designed,
00:29:19and then it was shovels in the ground.
00:29:21How did you stretch your dollar even further,
00:29:23like, to make it look like this with less money?
00:29:26There were a few things that helped us out.
00:29:28The towers last season were astronomically expensive.
00:29:31They were incredibly tall.
00:29:32We had to be able to put 40 people on each level simultaneously.
00:29:35All of those things sort of snowballed the cost of that.
00:29:39Steven Leinhart is a great example of somebody
00:29:41who just cares about everything that we do.
00:29:44And I gave him the basics.
00:29:46It's going to be strong and smart.
00:29:47We want a strong area, smart area.
00:29:49I just remember going, man, it would be really cool
00:29:52if we had a 24-hour Starbucks.
00:29:56I'm talking to Steven.
00:29:57Can you just have the ability to build a little hut?
00:30:00He goes, yeah. Great.
00:30:02Awesome. Thank you.
00:30:03I'm going to get working on this.
00:30:05So it allowed us to now go to Starbucks and go,
00:30:07you have to do a 24-hour Starbucks.
00:30:09Because it's going to be something that everybody talks about.
00:30:11So our city is about to get upgraded with a Starbucks.
00:30:16Logistically speaking, we should have a runner every single morning
00:30:19before everybody wakes up, go to a local Starbucks,
00:30:22pick up all the product, bring it on over.
00:30:25You know, you can have sandwiches.
00:30:26You can have this, you know, you have like a guard
00:30:28and you have them having like a name tag.
00:30:29Like, hello, my name is guard.
00:30:31Like that could be really funny.
00:30:32Bro, the content's going to be sick.
00:30:34Yeah, because episode five, you can ask for anything.
00:30:37Can I put an order from Starbucks?
00:30:39Absolutely. What would you like?
00:30:40Can I do a brown sugar cold brew?
00:30:42Absolutely.
00:30:42You just won free Starbucks for life.
00:30:45Dude, my wife's going to be so happy.
00:30:47She's going to go there every day.
00:30:48I think we should do this thing up, man.
00:30:50This is supposed to be the greatest time of the contestants' lives.
00:30:52Like, they should, when they leave here, miss it.
00:30:56They should be like, my God, I wish I could live in that city forever.
00:30:58Like, that's our goal here, to create, you know,
00:31:00a utopia where they can strategize,
00:31:02you don't have to worry about anything,
00:31:02and it's just about gameplay.
00:31:06Three, two, one!
00:31:10Open the door!
00:31:12You're my favorite.
00:31:13Yeah!
00:31:14You're my favorite.
00:31:14We are about to play the most insane game you have ever seen in your life.
00:31:18I'll see you guys there.
00:31:30One of the things me and Jimmy kept talking about is, if we want to one-up season one,
00:31:35it's not going to be through spectacle events like we typically would say.
00:31:39It's not rent a bigger stadium.
00:31:42Like, that's what everyone kind of, I think, was expecting.
00:31:45Something big could be something that didn't seem as extravagant or expensive.
00:31:50It's just something bringing back people that people cared about.
00:31:52You can't just snap your fingers and make a hundred million people,
00:31:55or however many people end up watching season two, instantly care about people.
00:31:58So, the best way to do it without rushing it and give it time to breathe,
00:32:02was just to bring back the people they already knew from season one.
00:32:05And they are in place all blindfolded in a room?
00:32:08Okay, thank you.
00:32:08Yep.
00:32:09Alright, I'm coming over.
00:32:14The first winner of Beast Game!
00:32:16What?
00:32:21Ten billion dollars!
00:32:22Ten billion dollars!
00:32:25Ten billion dollars!
00:32:27Our whole idea for bringing back the ten contestants from season one
00:32:31was from the criticisms.
00:32:32Which is kind of funny.
00:32:33Like, they said that we couldn't tell stories,
00:32:35we couldn't build characters.
00:32:37And what better way to do it in season two
00:32:39than bringing back the people that we've already fully built?
00:32:41Take your blindfolds off!
00:32:43See who you're around!
00:32:44Hey, everybody!
00:32:45Whoa!
00:32:47Whoa!
00:32:47Whoa!
00:32:49Whoa!
00:32:49Whoa!
00:32:50Oh my gosh!
00:32:51Did you see us on episode ten?
00:32:52It was as good as a fan.
00:32:54It was so good.
00:32:58Everyone cares about Tawana.
00:33:00Everyone cares about Jeff.
00:33:02People want to see what happens with the Habibi brother.
00:33:05What better way to do it than bringing those people back?
00:33:07Y'all got a phone call from myself that said,
00:33:10would you like to potentially, maybe, be part of season two?
00:33:14You guys really were the heart of our show for season one.
00:33:18Like, there's no guarantees.
00:33:19The only guarantee we have at this point
00:33:21is that you will be walking out with the potential
00:33:24to enter into season two of Beast Games.
00:33:39Contestants!
00:33:40Come on in!
00:33:41This is crazy!
00:33:43What's going on?
00:33:44It's like a mental asylum.
00:33:45What is this?
00:33:46Jimmy is going to go, all right,
00:33:47some of you might have hoped that maybe there was a bribe.
00:33:50We haven't bribed anybody yet.
00:33:51Before we eliminate half of you,
00:33:54I have an offer.
00:33:56Guards, come on in!
00:33:57We'll have ten guards.
00:33:59We're going to come out with a million dollars,
00:34:00a hundred thousand each.
00:34:01Any one of these players can step forward,
00:34:04eliminate themselves from the game,
00:34:06and take a hundred thousand dollars.
00:34:07And that's it.
00:34:09They're out of the game.
00:34:10And then Jimmy says one more thing.
00:34:12To receive this $100,000 bribe,
00:34:15you don't have to eliminate your friend,
00:34:17not your best friend.
00:34:18All you have to do is eliminate yourself.
00:34:21And the catch is, if they step forward,
00:34:24they have the option to take any one of your $100,000.
00:34:27If they take yours,
00:34:29then you will be entered into these games.
00:34:32Season two.
00:34:32Can I have one more thing that I forgot to mention?
00:34:36Guards!
00:34:36Take off your hands!
00:34:488% of the most notorious contestants from season one,
00:34:53and if you take their bribe,
00:34:55they will take your spot in the game.
00:34:58I know somebody's bringing back Dino.
00:35:01Oh my God, he's the coin flipper!
00:35:02We need him!
00:35:03I'd love for all of us to get in
00:35:04and see what we can do with these,
00:35:06with this new, uh, this new match of folks.
00:35:12You just won $100,000!
00:35:17Now, you'll have to decide which one of these ten
00:35:20you want to swap with.
00:35:22I think, Dino, you deserve a great shot.
00:35:26Dino is officially back in Beast Games!
00:35:30Let's bring back the winner.
00:35:31Oh my gosh!
00:35:33Jess already won $10 million!
00:35:35JC, make sure you leave some money for the rest of the people.
00:35:38JC, that was good.
00:35:40Star that.
00:35:41I think a lot of people had a lot of preconceived notions about everybody.
00:35:43Everybody saw JC steal $600,000 from everybody.
00:35:47So it's going to be fun to watch.
00:35:48Just the dynamic of him in all of these situations.
00:35:53I knew you would take it!
00:35:55That's what, $100,000!
00:35:57Officially gave away a million dollars in this one.
00:35:59Oh my gosh, I'm gonna buy a house.
00:36:01I'm gonna have a down payment for a house.
00:36:03This is the most incredible blessing.
00:36:11People don't know this, but we had someone sneak into our set.
00:36:14Like, literally.
00:36:15I didn't know.
00:36:16Anyone here interested in $100,000?
00:36:18I'm going on my side.
00:36:19Oh!
00:36:21Interesting.
00:36:22There's definitely a rack in there, but I'm acting like I don't see him.
00:36:25Oh, buddy.
00:36:26Oh, buddy!
00:36:27The contestants ratted you out!
00:36:29That wasn't supposed to happen until later in the show.
00:36:31Why is this money moving?
00:36:33Oh, no!
00:36:35Ow!
00:36:36Ow!
00:36:36I was trying to step on your thigh.
00:36:39Oh my gosh!
00:36:40That was totally by accident.
00:36:41Which one of these guys ratted me out?
00:36:42This is bad.
00:36:43Okay.
00:36:43Alright, the walk of shame.
00:36:45This is so bad.
00:36:46This is so bad.
00:36:47Shout out to whoever pointed him out.
00:36:49Not shout out.
00:36:50Not shout out.
00:36:51I gotta fight that guy.
00:36:52Shout out to that guy.
00:36:53I gotta fight that guy.
00:36:54As another way to market the show, Sanan had the genius idea of letting Eric hide on set.
00:36:59Eric is, like, getting in the money right now as part of a video he's making for his YouTube channel,
00:37:04which will get millions of views like his other sneak-in videos.
00:37:07You weren't supposed to see this.
00:37:08I'm just gonna hang out here as long as possible.
00:37:10Hope to God that nobody notices.
00:37:12He also hid in the earlier part of episode one.
00:37:15I didn't find him.
00:37:16He hid as a guard.
00:37:19Oh my God.
00:37:20I recognize that voice.
00:37:22What the?
00:37:23How long have you been here?
00:37:26Who gave him this?
00:37:28You look crazy, right?
00:37:30That's great.
00:37:31How long did it take me to get into this outfit?
00:37:33Oh, you're only looking at, like, what, six hours?
00:37:35This is Sanana's brainchild.
00:37:37It has been a month, huh, prep, for a singular moment.
00:37:42It's like Adam and Eve after getting his first paycheck.
00:37:44Okay.
00:37:45Alright.
00:37:46I will do anything to take home noise.
00:37:48I will do anything.
00:37:50You think this is crazy?
00:37:51You wait until episode three, bro.
00:37:52Are you coming back for one more?
00:37:54Oh, I'm coming back again and again.
00:37:57I won't stop until I come back with a victory, brother.
00:38:00This is the best subplot to this show I've ever seen.
00:38:04We're gonna give you the option of choosing between a bowl game,
00:38:12playing a balance game,
00:38:14playing a game of bluff,
00:38:17or playing a game with blocks.
00:38:19We will not be telling you anything else about these four games.
00:38:23I wanted to show such a different looking set,
00:38:25an environment that you've probably not seen before.
00:38:28And so immediately your eyes go,
00:38:29I must be watching something new.
00:38:31I'm interested.
00:38:31I want to see what episode two is.
00:38:33We did a video where I did, like, 24 hours in solitary confinement.
00:38:36And it was, like, this white room.
00:38:38And I really liked the vibe of that set.
00:38:40And it helps you really focus on what you want people to focus on.
00:38:44Lots of strong are waiting to see who goes where.
00:38:46So, like, smart are stepping in and strong are staying back.
00:38:49One is gonna duke the luck.
00:38:51What are you choosing?
00:38:52These people are literally the only reason that there's a TV show.
00:38:56You know what I mean?
00:38:56Like, they're just leaving notes constantly.
00:38:58She just wrote a note telling them that one of them doesn't think
00:39:01that the pictures actually represent what the minigame is.
00:39:05And then an editor later will potentially use that if it makes sense.
00:39:08If they need, they're like,
00:39:10Ah, we want somebody to question what the games even are.
00:39:12Now they can look that note up, find that,
00:39:15and then be able to implement that clip.
00:39:17Interesting that Jeff's already got a little posse that he's trying to swing.
00:39:20Boarding around the previous winner like he's some god.
00:39:24Blocks is getting bigger and bigger.
00:39:25This is good.
00:39:26Three, two, one, make your decision!
00:39:33All right, all the contestants pick their game, and then we'll start soon.
00:39:37Russ, am I good to go? Can I have Jimmy go?
00:39:39All right, Jimmy, you're good.
00:39:41It's time for the first game.
00:39:43The 18 of you are going to be playing dodgeball until nine of you remain.
00:39:49Here's how this works.
00:39:51You do not throw the ball until the lights go red.
00:39:55The lights will be red for 10 seconds.
00:39:59In that 10-second window, you must throw your ball.
00:40:04Round one is underway.
00:40:05Here we go, here we go, here we go.
00:40:06Let's think about this, guys. Come on.
00:40:10Take a look at this. All of these people are all monitoring.
00:40:14Multiple angles, multiple people.
00:40:17Everybody goes through all of the footage here.
00:40:19It looked like he was getting hit in the head when he, like, twisted around another angle,
00:40:24but when we looked above, you can see the ball go right past him.
00:40:27You two, your balls collide in mid-air.
00:40:29So Yvonne and Eddie are out.
00:40:32He stepped on it! He stepped on the line!
00:40:35Anybody get hit?
00:40:36No, we have no hits.
00:40:37God, that is so confusing.
00:40:39I want you to get out playing dodgeball.
00:40:41Not because you stepped on a red line.
00:40:43We have one reel out and three.
00:40:44That's what I'm saying.
00:40:45I know, it's pissing me off.
00:40:46We want to see people get hit with a ball.
00:40:48Yeah.
00:40:48You know?
00:40:49This next one is going to screw them up.
00:40:52We're going to put three lines.
00:40:53Three lines.
00:40:54You're the first to hear it.
00:40:56You guys control the red lines.
00:40:58Yeah, so we get a little note from the producers.
00:41:01They tell us what they want to set, and then we hit the box.
00:41:05Oh, she's alone!
00:41:06Oh!
00:41:07Fire!
00:41:07Fire!
00:41:08Oh, Akira!
00:41:10Oh!
00:41:11They've only seen two spokes and three spokes.
00:41:14We have four spokes, we have five spokes.
00:41:16Ready and red.
00:41:19Oh!
00:41:20Oh my gosh!
00:41:22They got two out!
00:41:23That's game!
00:41:24Dude, there's a moment where we thought you got out and my heart's sick.
00:41:27Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:41:29I'll see you in the city, man.
00:41:30You keep surviving, man.
00:41:32Bro.
00:41:33And I will stay surviving until the end.
00:41:35At least top ten.
00:41:38You guys all picked bluff.
00:41:40That means you guys shouldn't have a problem lying to each other.
00:41:43That's what this entire game is about.
00:41:49Open the door!
00:41:50I need to go back to the city.
00:41:52I wouldn't like anyone in this room.
00:41:55If I don't make it out of this room, and she makes it back, it's gonna be really ugly for
00:42:00whoever eliminates me in this room.
00:42:03Okay, 49 is aligned with 50, 55, and 1783.
00:42:07Can you call out the numbers again?
00:42:0949 is with 50.
00:42:1055, 173.
00:42:13Trying to get 162 in against Kareem406.
00:42:17It wasn't just the season one contestants that we brought back.
00:42:20We brought back player number 49, Lewiston.
00:42:22He was the husband of the girl that the Habibi brothers bullied in the cubes.
00:42:26Kareem and his brother Haslam gaslit my wife on national television to get her out.
00:42:33You guys, I told you I'd do it.
00:42:36Me and my brother are secretly talking to each other the entire time.
00:42:40And basically, she doesn't know.
00:42:42Whoa.
00:42:44We didn't even know if the Habibi brother was gonna even be in the show.
00:42:47But our goal is to give opportunities for content.
00:42:50You can say whatever you want, but you did what you did.
00:42:53Be careful.
00:42:54They'll make you the villain.
00:42:55That was an opportunity that, in theory, could have fizzled out.
00:42:58He could have just been player 49.
00:42:59No one would have even known.
00:43:01But instead, that storyline happened.
00:43:03He happened to want to get revenge.
00:43:06We didn't tell him to do that.
00:43:07He happened to want to.
00:43:08And they both ended up duking it out in episode two.
00:43:10You're blue.
00:43:11Yeah, you're blue.
00:43:11Three seconds left!
00:43:14Jessie, her yellow.
00:43:15Jessie.
00:43:15They're not telling you.
00:43:17Time is up!
00:43:18Turn around, blue team!
00:43:21Oh!
00:43:22Oh, Kareem, now I feel sorry for her.
00:43:24No, you do not.
00:43:25I'm sorry, Kareem.
00:43:27You have red on the back of your head.
00:43:29You have been eliminated.
00:43:30And everyone's gonna look at it and go, wow, that's crazy.
00:43:32Some might even say it's rigged.
00:43:33But at the end of the day, the truth is, is we provide a lot of cool opportunities through casting
00:43:38to get sick outcomes.
00:43:41Kareem is in that room right now, and that was just one of the most cutthroat things I've ever seen.
00:43:46I was excited for him to have, like, a new beginning, show people that he's more than who he was
00:43:50in season one.
00:43:53He just cut it short.
00:43:56What's up?
00:43:57Not much, man.
00:43:57How are you feeling, man?
00:43:59Like, what's your immediate reaction?
00:44:01I'm Egyptian.
00:44:02We're immigrants, you know.
00:44:03I've faced adversity my entire life, and it's not something that I'm not used to, but it's never been adversity
00:44:09of character, and I think that's kind of where that kind of hits me a little bit harder.
00:44:15Because that's just not who I am, you know.
00:44:18And that's very important to me.
00:44:20It sucked for the last year to always be in a position of adversity.
00:44:26Always start from a negative and try to show people that I'm competing for a game, you know what I
00:44:31mean?
00:44:31I'm doing what I can.
00:44:32I'm kind of psyched that that's the way it was ended, and it ended a little sooner than I would
00:44:35have wanted it to, but...
00:44:38These custom-made breakaway hearts that will be on these scales with these custom rocks to counterbalance these.
00:44:47And even with all the care in the world, this stuff is so fragile, it's very easy to lose one,
00:44:51and they just go.
00:44:52These are glass, so be very careful.
00:44:55This is the best balance game I've ever put onto you.
00:44:57Yeah, it's gonna be good.
00:44:58This might be my favorite game of the show.
00:45:00They're very, very sensitive to, like, the slightest touch.
00:45:03We lose, like, probably 50 to 60% of these things.
00:45:07Not only do they have very few of these hearts with these rubies inside, but if it breaks, that causes,
00:45:12like, a 45-minute cleanup.
00:45:14And that causes overtime.
00:45:16Three, two, one.
00:45:18Hold the pin.
00:45:19Make sure you hold it up.
00:45:21Oh, my God.
00:45:25Out of all of the games, this is the one I'm most nervous about.
00:45:32The way I looked at it was, like, what is a game that is completely balanced for both strong and
00:45:36smart people?
00:45:37A strong person can lift up a heart and curl it and go, I know what 20 pounds feels like
00:45:42when I curl.
00:45:42A smart person may not do it that way.
00:45:44They may do something else.
00:45:45So you get to see the contrast of how their brains operate.
00:45:48What round is that?
00:45:4922.
00:45:50Moment of truth.
00:45:51When you're ready, pull that pin.
00:45:55Oh!
00:45:56Oh, yeah.
00:45:58Oh, my God.
00:46:05Just picking up the red rubies from last round.
00:46:08Hey, anything else?
00:46:12It's time for the final game!
00:46:15The fourth game of the episode is going to be a block game.
00:46:19We're actually going to be going back to the city to play a 50 times bigger version of blocks.
00:46:28This is going to be freaking crazy.
00:46:30They all think those flags are coming down.
00:46:31They're not.
00:46:32They're going to have to climb 50 feet in the air.
00:46:34So you have to build this thing, climb up it, grab the flag, and the first team to grab the
00:46:40flag moves on.
00:46:41It's about to be game time.
00:46:42Make sure you get good shots.
00:46:45Do you think, honestly, this game favors this strong?
00:46:47No, this game, I can tell you without a doubt, favors communication.
00:46:50Because you only need one really athletic person climbing this thing on either side.
00:46:55And that's it.
00:46:56Like, as long as you each have one, which they both have one.
00:46:58And then as long as the runners are decent, you're just going to alternate blocks.
00:47:02So we set up test after test for the big block game in episode two.
00:47:06We tested that 10, 12, 15 times.
00:47:09We're putting ourselves in real time of what's going to happen.
00:47:12Every block has a purpose.
00:47:14If you put the block down like this instead of like this, it could mean that your tower falls,
00:47:18or it could mean that you're not high enough to grab the flag.
00:47:20All the potential options of things that could happen, somebody might say this.
00:47:25You know, and he's like, it would be great if as they're building it, it tips over.
00:47:32We're like literally pitching and writing a game by pretending of every scenario, five, six scenarios of what could actually
00:47:41happen.
00:47:49At the end, how cool would it be if two people were really close and one person jumped and missed
00:48:04it?
00:48:04Johnny! He's going for it! He's going for it!
00:48:17That happened!
00:48:19Seven hours later!
00:48:22Oh my goodness! That was a nail-biter!
00:48:26Intro to episode three. You just saw it. It's really good.
00:48:31And with that, the second game is over.
00:48:37How we doing, boss? The magnum opus.
00:48:39This is it. This is it. This is it.
00:48:41Bro, this is happening. I will live in this city for days.
00:48:45What are you going to do to make sure the contestants don't rat you out?
00:48:48Because last time, Jimmy didn't find you. A contestant pointed you out.
00:48:51Have you ever read The Art of War?
00:48:53No.
00:48:54Can you see this? We're at war, John.
00:48:57I don't know what little video you're filming here.
00:49:00This is a battlefield, okay? It's me versus Jimmy on a 1v1 right now.
00:49:04Why wouldn't I read The Art of War?
00:49:08How prep do I look this time, huh?
00:49:11Go ahead. Go ahead and make fun of this prep.
00:49:13See, I have a pee bottle here because I'm assuming I might be in there for days.
00:49:21Okay, you're inside the bush. Jimmy and the contestants are literally right over there.
00:49:25There's 50 people left. We told them all to split up into groups of five.
00:49:29So they picked their teams. There's some cutthroat, some backstabbing, some outcasts.
00:49:33And we told them that half of them are about to be eliminated. That's all they know.
00:49:36Between us, it's going to be freaking crazy.
00:49:39You're like, this next game is wild.
00:49:40How are you feeling about your team?
00:49:42I feel really good.
00:49:43I feel really bad.
00:49:44I feel really good.
00:49:45I feel really bad about this team, bro. I don't know.
00:49:47Why do you feel bad? Because you don't think we have the strength?
00:49:49I think we could have used a little bit more muscle instead of JC.
00:49:53Let's go, bro. Lock it in with us.
00:49:55I got you. I got you. I got you. I swear to God, JC, if you cooked me.
00:49:58Basically, it's a game where you have to jump on these teeter-totters and progress through the course.
00:50:03There's a lot of strategy in it. You know, I'm excited to see the smart people.
00:50:07Maybe, like, grab the strong and kind of point them in a direction.
00:50:09Hey, listen, you can go super fast. If you fall, our whole game's over.
00:50:12So slow and steady might win the race.
00:50:17So episode one, we got punched in the face with a giant storm. We got through it.
00:50:21Episode two went pretty smooth.
00:50:23We kind of felt like we were in a little bit of a rhythm just for episode three
00:50:27to get punched directly in the face by Mother Nature again.
00:50:31We have an imminent bad weather situation coming, so we need to roll cameras immediately and start this.
00:50:37How much time do you have to film this?
00:50:38We have, like, a small window. We probably have less than ten minutes.
00:50:40It rained harder that night than I have seen in a very long time.
00:50:45This thunderstorm literally just sat on us, nonstop, insane.
00:50:50The roads flooded. The whole city's flooded.
00:50:53The thing is, rain, we can film it. When we film main channel videos, it's raining all the time.
00:50:57But I can't remember the last time it thundered in a main channel video.
00:51:01Like, that literally never happens.
00:51:02Man, this becomes really difficult. In about 30 minutes, it will be unsafe to do anything.
00:51:08Lightning was striking all around us, literally. Like, striking.
00:51:13As soon as the lightning strike is within ten miles, everybody has to take cover immediately.
00:51:17We can't film. We had to send the contestants back to the city.
00:51:20Trying so hard. This is the live IRL version of what we're going through.
00:51:24We had to send ourselves back to the trailers and rough out the storm.
00:51:28We've just been sitting here on lockdown for the past three hours.
00:51:31Some of the worst thunderstorms and lightning in Greenville's recent history are happening right now.
00:51:36And Klitsch is about to walk in to address the crew.
00:51:39So, have a seat. The bigger thing is the next steps of what we're going to do to salvage the
00:51:44episode.
00:51:45Just be on standby. We are going to get this thing done.
00:51:48So, thank you guys. Thanks for sticking it out.
00:51:51What's the probability we filmed today?
00:51:54It all comes down to the lightning. Safety.
00:51:57The first ten hours after I wake up, those are like the most prime time.
00:52:01Like, my highest energy, I'm going to be the best on camera.
00:52:03I was just sitting there waiting, and you just drain it all.
00:52:07And by the time it's time to film, you know, is when you're at the lowest of your low during
00:52:10the day.
00:52:11It's brutal. But honestly, that's like the least annoying problem of the rain.
00:52:15The real problem is now I also have hundreds of people in the crew sitting around.
00:52:18It messes up the tech. It delays everything.
00:52:20It's not only just that game, but it's the other games we're working on.
00:52:22Of course, with the bad luck, we also get some of the good luck.
00:52:26We found these little pockets and windows of time to get out there and film a quick game in between
00:52:31lightning storms.
00:52:32Because it's storming for a little bit, there's an hour window.
00:52:34We literally are like, oh, green light, we're good.
00:52:37We just got the clearance. It's actually safe to film. The lightning is still far enough away.
00:52:41It's raining, but they're covering the cameras.
00:52:42And we're just going to try to get as many run-throughs of contestants going through this obstacle course as
00:52:47possible
00:52:47before we have to shelter in place.
00:52:52Contestants! Come on up!
00:52:53Let's see which team wins round one.
00:52:57Three!
00:52:58Two!
00:52:59One!
00:53:00Go!
00:53:01Oh, angry. It's just blitzing.
00:53:04Remember, if you are so involved, it's over.
00:53:17How many minutes do we have right now to film the next, like, run-through of the obstacle course with
00:53:22the contestants?
00:53:22It's minute-to-minute. You know, any change in the direction of how it's going and we've got to just
00:53:27lock it down,
00:53:28get everybody out, get them to shelter, get them into the vehicles that we've got standing by over there.
00:53:33What do we got coming up?
00:53:34We've got a big storm coming in over here.
00:53:36We might be able to get another one in.
00:53:39Who's going first?
00:53:42We had such a tight turnaround.
00:53:45Basically, we're under the impression if we didn't film all of the games, which seemed impossible at the time,
00:53:51we weren't going to be able to go to the Survivor Island and film that entire episode.
00:53:55We couldn't miss that. We were stuck.
00:53:57All right, JC, I think she's building confidence.
00:53:59I wouldn't fall too far behind.
00:54:01Going for it, JC.
00:54:01The answer was, we had to work faster than we've probably ever worked on any episode,
00:54:08and we had to film four games in one day.
00:54:13My team is officially moving on!
00:54:19I never doubted these guys for a second.
00:54:21I told him he would have to get on his hands and knees
00:54:24and beg for forgiveness for ever doubting me and my team picking abilities.
00:54:30I am so sorry for doubting your team picking abilities.
00:54:34Okay, come here.
00:54:35I am so sorry.
00:54:36I am so sorry for ever doubting you.
00:54:38You're stuck with me.
00:54:41Congrats, man.
00:54:42We're going to get more money for JC.
00:54:43More money.
00:54:44More money!
00:54:47More money!
00:54:48More money!
00:54:48If we had to just do this show under normal conditions,
00:54:53it would be immensely challenging.
00:54:55We just keep getting stuff thrown at us.
00:54:57Our control room, the roof was seconds away from leaking
00:55:01and just dumping over a couple of million dollars worth of gear.
00:55:05That's a water bubble that just develops.
00:55:08Oh, my God.
00:55:09All that water could break over the control room.
00:55:12Absolutely.
00:55:13We've got a lot of issues in here that we've got to fix.
00:55:16Not only are we looking up praying that lightning's not going to strike
00:55:20in a 10-mile radius to then shut down the chute again,
00:55:23we also had lightning struck so close that one of our servers got all messed up.
00:55:29And so there was a point where right before we're about to go,
00:55:33and I hear in my comms, Klitsch hears in his comms, we've got a problem.
00:55:36Jimmy, pause. Jimmy, pause.
00:55:37All power and control room went down.
00:55:40Really?
00:55:40Yeah.
00:55:41The whole last game we filmed, we didn't know if that footage was gone.
00:55:45We had no idea.
00:55:46It was a giant trailer that we had full of servers.
00:55:49Three or four petabytes of data full of air conditioning pumping in there.
00:55:54And when the power went out, guys who managed the servers themselves
00:55:57were like literally hand fanning off trying to keep everything cool.
00:56:01It was a mad scramble to do whatever we could.
00:56:04I need 100% confirmation.
00:56:05And I went over there.
00:56:07They were like, Klitsch, we're good, we're fine, everything's working.
00:56:10I'm like, awesome, show me the footage.
00:56:12We have to check.
00:56:14Simply put, you have to check.
00:56:16So we checked the footage, it was there, it was great.
00:56:18But man, was that a scare.
00:56:21Welcome to the final round.
00:56:24Here we go.
00:56:25Let's go.
00:56:27We got this.
00:56:29Three, two, one, go!
00:56:33They're both racing to get position.
00:56:34They're about to meet at the wide.
00:56:37Tyler's guarding the exit with the justice.
00:56:39What's he got, Eric?
00:56:40Come on!
00:56:43How do you think about the safety of this with rain?
00:56:45I ran through it and it was hard enough when it wasn't wet and rainy.
00:56:48Yeah, but you still did it.
00:56:50Somehow.
00:56:50And I saw you had a bunch of other testers and volunteers running through it.
00:56:53We have a whole other team that's behind the scenes managing that version of safety.
00:56:58Safety is first for us.
00:57:00You have to make sure our people are safe.
00:57:02We do testing to break the games.
00:57:04We do it to literally say, we didn't come up with a good enough game.
00:57:08It broke.
00:57:08Here's why.
00:57:09Let's fix it.
00:57:10And so when you tested actually, you went up against Logan.
00:57:12He actually was blocking your way because we have a why and then we have a path that
00:57:17both of you share and he stood on the path.
00:57:19Because we didn't have any rules at that point.
00:57:21We were like, hey, just see what happens.
00:57:23So Logan blocks you.
00:57:24You had to skirt around him and we're like, oh, there's like interaction there.
00:57:28I was surprised.
00:57:29I wasn't rammed off the platform there.
00:57:31If somebody's standing there and $5 million is at stake, I'm going through you.
00:57:36We can't have that.
00:57:37Somebody's going to get hurt.
00:57:38So we changed it.
00:57:40So rather than keep somebody on this shared path, we adjusted.
00:57:43And we said, okay, stay on your platform.
00:57:46If you have a jousting stick, you reach over and you joust the other person on their separate
00:57:51platform.
00:57:52And that was based off of the test that you ran with Logan.
00:57:58How many?
00:58:00How many?
00:58:01How many?
00:58:01You're good, go.
00:58:02Go Mike!
00:58:03Let's go!
00:58:09Go before he gets position on you.
00:58:12They're about to meet at the Y.
00:58:13I'm doing this for my brother and my family, bro.
00:58:16Don't take that from me.
00:58:26It is a fight to the death!
00:58:32Can we go to replay and see the push with the hands?
00:58:35Can we go to instant replay?
00:58:36If you watch like a replay in a football game,
00:58:39we look at everything from every angle possible
00:58:42and we don't decide how we're moving forward
00:58:45until we're in agreement.
00:58:46What happened? We just raced from the set.
00:58:48There's a lot of questions about this joust in particular.
00:58:53What happened?
00:58:54You'll see the right arm of white grabs the side,
00:58:58now goes for the head.
00:59:00Oh, that's where he gets illegal.
00:59:02That's the illegal move.
00:59:03And he's out.
00:59:04No matter what.
00:59:05Sorry, guys.
00:59:31You lost so bad.
00:59:33I've been inching closer and closer.
00:59:34When I saw the bush on the pavement.
00:59:37Yeah!
00:59:40My schedule is literally planned down to a minute.
00:59:43We're shooting with Jimmy's body doubles.
00:59:45Everything has to be perfect.
00:59:47When do you need me there?
00:59:48It was a miracle if a day was less than 15 hours from it.
00:59:50Start here, take a bullet hole.
00:59:52Oh, my God!
00:59:53That's how you do it on Survivor!
00:59:55They've taken this genre and just steroided it.
01:00:00Quite a few precarious spots.
01:00:02We're prepping to race a cheetah.
01:00:04Do you ever think you'd die when you were doing your YouTube videos?
01:00:08Real quick, I just wanted to address all the comments on our videos
01:00:10about whether or not we're doing a Beast Game Season 2 reunion.
01:00:14And the answer is yes.
01:00:15I was so caught off guard.
01:00:17We're starting with that?
01:00:19We haven't never before seen clip.
01:00:20Oh, gosh.
01:00:21No, you love this.
01:00:22Come on.
01:00:22Let's talk about it.
01:00:23That's a crock of crap.
01:00:26We just filmed it last week in North Carolina with Jimmy and the finalists.
01:00:29And let's just say it got pretty crazy.
01:00:31So make sure you subscribe and ring the notification bell
01:00:33because you're not going to want to miss this video.
01:00:35And I'll see you next time.
