00:01The Mets the last two days have seen their offense disappear they've gone one
00:05for their last 29 with runners in scoring position as a result despite
00:10giving up only seven runs in three games they dropped two out of three to the
00:14Cardinals on the hill tonight for the Giants will be Robbie Ray lifetime
00:18against the Mets 4-2 the 3-1-1 ERA the door just three for 21 to start the
00:23year but he has drawn seven walks it's tough to defend what went on Wednesday
00:26right that being said it was one day it was one day this is uncharacteristic of
00:30Francisco Lindor so if it just winds up being one day and we don't see this
00:35again from him then okay he's human I get it it happens if this becomes a
00:39pattern then all of a sudden you look at me say what's going on here and he
00:43misses high ball four and the door is on will lead off walk bouncer to first
00:47charged by Schmidt he turns throws a second for one Adamas back to first not in
00:52time so one out and one on now Bo Bichette just three for twenty seven to start the
00:57year Bichette drives one toward the left field corner that ball is going to bounce
01:01all the way to the wall Soto digging for third Tim Leeper is going to wave him
01:05around the relay throw to the plate by Adamas it hits Soto and it's backed up
01:10nicely by Ray it's an RBI double for Bo Bichette and three batters into the game the
01:16Mets have a 1-0 lead first extra base hit as a man for Bo Bichette high fly ball in
01:22the
01:22center drifting back is Bader still backpedaling and as he gets to the edge
01:26of the warning track toward right center a bit he's got it inning over David
01:31Peterson back out there today five and a third his first time out look very
01:35sharp the sinker working again to get some ground ball Devers ropes went into
01:38right field where the Giants come up with their first hit of the game round
01:42ball toward the hole backhanded by Lindor out at second semi on the first not in
01:47time Ramos just beat the rap at first beautiful play by Lindor going in the
01:52hole and getting it right on target to Simeon for the second out arise now seven
01:56hits and 23 at bats swing and there's a drive down the right field line deep way
02:01back there and it is off the brakes it goes toward center field on the carom
02:06coming around third Ramos he'll score and the Giants have tied it Tyrone Taylor was
02:13waiting for the carom but you never know which way the ball is going to come off the
02:18bricks out there and hit up on the pillar between the third and fourth
02:22archways so Ramos scores easily and a rice gets a triple now Chapman drives one
02:28down the right field line slicing toward the corner and that's a fair ball scoring
02:33is a rice heading for second as Chapman the throw in not in time well that's when
02:38Chapman's going good when he gets that ball the other way so back-to-back RBI hits and
02:43here's John who lead John and spirit at first by Vientos and he drops it here comes
02:50Chapman and the arrow on Peterson brings in the third one of the inning for San
02:56Francisco things are going right for the Giants today so the Mets who got
03:01themselves to run against Robbie Ray in the first inning now to fight from
03:05behind the end to timers one deep to left that's gonna sell way out of here Mark
03:10Vientos with his first home run of the year to cut the lead to three to two now
03:15Vientos after sitting for the first four games of the year getting a chance to play
03:21three days in a row and he is showing that he wants to be in the lineup fastball
03:28right down the middle and the inning is over the Mets get a run back though on the
03:31homer by Vientos Daniel Susak in his first major league at bat he bloops one in the
03:36right center field base hit and on the first pitch he gets himself a base hit and
03:42the the Susak family and community there's a lot of them down in the lower
03:46deck man they just erupted down there they're having a party Schmidt little jam
03:51shot pop-up into no man's land and it's gonna fall I think Robert would have had a
03:58lot easier to play but Semien was calling all the way and Robert did not call him off
04:03and Semien unable to make the play Leodamas hits one on the ground that could be two the
04:09flip to Semien for one and on to first and a much needed double play swing and a
04:13miss got him with a high fastball and so Peterson works around a couple of hits in
04:18the second so a leadoff single for the Giants 111 miles an hour off the bat
04:23Giants haven't had many hits that hard in this young season yet ground ball base hit into
04:29the right field arise pulls it through the hole Ramos stops at second did a good job
04:34of picking up his third base coach Hector Borg who gave him the stop sign chopper
04:39slowly hit Chapman got a hit they're loaded look Peterson's given up some loud
04:45contact but he also has been dinged up a little bit with pop-ups this one and a
04:51little infield hit and an error that he committed by himself Lee hits a drive to
04:55center field going back quickly Robert he will square up make the catch tagging
04:59from third Ramos he'll score tagging from second arise he goes to third it's
05:04four to two Giants and that's just an excellent job by Jung-Hoo Lee that's your
05:09goal the bases don't nobody out you're looking for two sack fly at bats Bader hits
05:13a drive out towards right center field Robert sprinting back into his left he'll
05:17make the catch on the run tagging from third arise he comes in to score Bader gets
05:23the sacrifice fly five to two Giants at bat number two for Daniel Susak and he's got
05:30another hit there is no stopping that young man and Smith takes ball four and that will
05:36load up the bases the first walk David's given up and he just doesn't have it swinging
05:40a mess Peterson finally puts an end to this third inning it's Francisco Alvarez who took
05:46a fastball for a call third strike his first time up he rolls over one down to third Chapman
05:51right behind the back to fair ball and Chapman boots it away so Alvarez gets credit for an
05:57infield hit and that gets Tyrone Taylor to the plate as the tying run that one is hit to
06:02left field going over is Ramos to the edge of the warning track he reaches up and makes
06:07a catch so walking an infield hit but no runs good curveball by Peterson to strike out
06:13Ramos Peterson who seems to have found something that's working just a lot of those curveballs in
06:19this inning gets that four seamer in for a strike David Peterson strikes out Louisa rise
06:25back-to-back strikeouts for the left-hander six strikeouts for Robbie Ray well and he
06:30did something there that he had been able to do all that long and that's get the leadoff hitter
06:34out goes with a high fastball above the hands gets the swing through got seven strikeouts
06:39Robbie Ray's best inning three two and that just missed ball four so after retiring five in a row he
06:46walks Lee with one out it looks like it will be a true piggyback situation and Shawn Minaya will
06:52come in to replace David Peterson and Susak draws a four-pitch walk so his batting average and his on
06:58-base
06:59percentage are both still a thousand here's Casey Schmidt two on two out looping fly ball the longer
07:04left field line it's falling it's in there base hit coming into score is Jung-Hoo Lee an RBI single
07:11for
07:11Schmidt six to two Giants so Minaya has come in and struggled tell you one thing that Robbie Ray
07:18has done tonight that he didn't do in the first start against the Yankees I mean he's using all of
07:22his pitches there's a swing and fly ball into center waiting for it is Bader he's got it just a
07:28lazy fly ball
07:29right at him and Robbie Ray departs gave him five and a third Ryan Walker last year seventeen saves 60
07:37strikeouts at sixty one and a third swing and a pop fly into center field in a hurry here's Bader
07:42on the
07:43run makes the two-handed catch inning over Shawn Minaya continuing on gets his first full inning of
07:50relief Devers tonight a single swing and there's a high drive into deep left center back goes Luis
07:55Robert at the warning track at the wall he leaps over the 399 foot marker it just would not come
08:06down
08:07seven to two Giants and Devers gets his first home run of the year there are not that many left
08:15-handed
08:15hitters who can do that on a night like tonight that's why the Giants traded for him so here's
08:21Blade Tidwell just called up today the former Met Simeon hits one on the ground Adamas to his left
08:28the spinner robber too late and Simeon finally snaps his 0-4 he had been 0 for his last 20
08:34the second
08:35longest 0-4 of his major league career chopper to third Chapman for one throw to first double play
08:42swing and a ground ball to short Adamas gobbles this one up throws all the way across in plenty of
08:47time
08:48and Blade Tidwell welcome back to the big leagues and up comes Daniel Susak who's just having a great
08:54game tonight he's two for two plus a walk plus a successful challenge looked in command behind home
09:00plate and a liner up the middle base hit he finally threw him a fastball and Susak was ready for
09:07it
09:07but on base four times he's three for three and uh I know it's only game seven but he's leading
09:14the league
09:15and hitting one out single for Soto and he's now hitting the first seven games of the year
09:19so they're just waiting for Robbie Ray to get out of the game he definitely does not look comfortable
09:25against Robbie Ray and there's a swing line drive the first a leaping catch by Schmidt for a double play
09:30Schmidt was shallow having held against the runner came off the bag as the pitch was thrown and then
09:37made a leaping catch reacting very quickly Blade Tidwell the former Met minor leaguer is trying to polish
09:44off his first career save a bloop behind third going back is Chapman over near the foul line into the
09:51shallow outfield and he makes the catch check swing the ball skims off the bat into the glove of Susak
09:57strike three the big ranking ball again and this one Vientos could not lay off and the Giants make it
10:05three out of four this week and they take game one from the Mets seven to two back of Robbie
10:10Ray
