00:00For those coming that were joining on the press conference,
00:03we'll do a quick recap of some of the NASA astronaut Christina
00:07Cook is also working through troubleshooting steps
00:11of the waste management system
00:14that's aboard the Integrity spacecraft.
00:24The toilet fan is reported to be jammed.
00:30Now the ground teams are coming up with instructions
00:33on how to get into the fan and clear that area
00:38to revive the toilet for the mission.
00:44In the meantime, they're getting their contingency,
00:49their backup waste management capabilities,
00:54specifically for urine.
00:56The fecal collection of the toilet,
01:00that specific capability can still be used
01:03with the waste management system aboard Orion.
01:08You can see the cab camera 2 light turn on.
01:12We are not streaming video.
01:13We're just getting a list of questions.
01:16And Integrity Houston for Christina and toilet troubleshooting.
01:24Go ahead.
01:27Okay, Christina, we're ready for you to attempt reactivation
01:30of toilet by removing the urine hose from the cradle.
01:33Please allow it to run for one minute, and then if that's joy,
01:37you can deactivate toilet and give us a call.
01:45Copy.
01:46And understand I'm not putting the water in the funnel at this time.
01:51Correct.
01:52Not yet.
01:53Correct.
01:53Not for this time.
01:58In work.
02:02The one place that we can go during the mission,
02:04or we could actually feel like we're alone for a moment.
02:12So here's a little tour of our toilet trainers.
02:16So this would be the floor of the Orion capsule.
02:19We have it set up here like this so that we can practice in gravity.
02:23But this would be the door.
02:25So if you were looking at the toilet from inside the capsule,
02:30this would be the floor.
02:31You would float over to it, open up this hinging door,
02:35and float on in.
02:41So here you can see the toilet,
02:43and there's enough room for you to float in here and close the door.
02:48This is just a toilet that we use for training and mocking up things
02:51to get a perspective on how we're going to manage the system on orbit.
02:56You have a urine hose.
02:58So this is where you collect all your urine.
03:01And then this is just like a toilet seat,
03:03and this is where the solid waste is collected.
03:07The feces get sucked down into the bottom, into a bag.
03:10And you close that off, and you squish it down into the bottom,
03:14into the canister.
03:21During the mission, we'll have to change out that solid waste canister a few times,
03:25and all of that comes back to earth with us.
03:28As far as the urine goes, it gets collected.
03:31And a few times a day, we vent that urine to space.
03:36We're pretty fortunate as a crew to have a toilet
03:39with a door on this tiny spacecraft.
03:43The one place that we can go during the mission
03:45where we can actually feel like we're alone for a moment.
03:48We're great.
03:49This is your favourite vehicle,
03:50with maintaining everything more.
03:51And if you enjoyed it, you would float here to direct them.
03:52We'll be our favourite vehicle out and MCC.
03:53It's a에요.
03:55I more than the noun flywheel PCB는데요 program.
03:57Check it out.
