00:00Talk to me about finding this chemistry between your characters.
00:03I hear you guys might go all the way back.
00:05We go all the way back.
00:06We go really far.
00:07We go all the way back.
00:09I was born in Oklahoma, but I was raised in Tokyo, Japan.
00:12And at the age of 16 years old, I came back to Oklahoma.
00:16I really struggled to make friends.
00:18But there was one girl who asked me to be my friend, and her name is Jenny Marsden.
00:23That's his younger sister.
00:25And so we were 16 years old, and he had just...
00:28I didn't want to hang out with her, so I told my sister to hang out with her.
00:31He was in Hollywood, having already made a little bit of success and had just kind of broken through.
00:38And so he came out to Oklahoma to visit his family, and she had asked, like, will you take me
00:43and my friends out?
00:44So he took us to Bennigan's, which is a chain restaurant in the Midwest, and Brahms Ice Cream.
00:49And it was like, for me to meet him, I'd always wanted to be an actor, but it felt really
00:54elusive and hard to attain.
00:56That was a moment that was so impactful for me that he barely remembers.
01:00I mean, I do remember it, but it was...
01:02Vaguely.
01:03Vaguely, though.
01:04And then she comes up to me at a GQ party in L.A.
01:07Years later.
01:0810 years later or something.
01:09Over 10 years later.
01:09Over 15 years later or something.
01:11Going, we went to dinner in Oklahoma City with your sister.
01:13I'm like, what?
01:14Yeah.
01:14So then we, you know, kept in touch, obviously.
01:17We talked about hopefully working together.
01:18And how our lives just, like, the pattern that I basically followed James, you know?
01:24Yeah, yeah.
01:24Both in X-Men movies and...
01:26And then now to work together in this.
01:28And I was actually asked by Jonathan Tropper, like, hey, do you happen to know James Marsden?
01:34And I was like, very well, actually.
01:37Why?
01:37He was like, we really want him on the show.
01:39Like, could you send him a text?
01:41And so I gave it my best pitch, and it worked, because here we are.
01:46Which started with, you don't remember me.
01:48I know.
01:48But.
01:50I was like, could you take me to Bennigan's again?
01:52It was nice.
01:53Like, you know, you have a, you know, we had a lot of scenes together in this season.
