02:42which is affected by your Defense stat,
02:44or adding a Pulse effect boosted by your Utility stat.
02:48Hostile Modifiers work in a similar way.
02:51Enemies can temporarily reduce, disable,
02:54or even invert your stats,
02:56keeping every fight unique and unpredictable.
03:03When it comes to the endgame,
03:05we know some of you have been asking for a tougher challenge.
03:08Escalation is our answer.
03:09A brand new difficulty that takes main missions and strongholds
03:12to a whole new level.
03:13Escalation is split into tiers that steadily increase in difficulty.
03:17Higher tiers feature stronger enemies and better rewards.
03:19Some tiers also introduce mutators,
03:21giving enemies new abilities
03:23and adding unpredictable twists to every fight.
03:25To enter a tier, you'll spend tokens.
03:28A new currency earned by completing runs,
03:30with the easiest tier being free.
03:32But choose carefully.
03:33There are no checkpoints.
03:34Every attempt carries the real risk of losing your tokens.
03:38To make sure agents can rise up to the challenge matchmaking
03:40is available at every Escalation tier,
03:43making it the perfect opportunity to team up
03:45and to take on your favorite missions at their absolute hardest.
03:52To make Escalation runs worth the effort
03:54and to help you progress through its tiers,
03:56we're introducing a new gear and weapon rarity.
03:59Prototype.
03:59Prototype gear is the most powerful equipment we've ever released.
04:02Every piece comes with at least one terminal attribute,
04:05the strongest possible version of a stat,
04:07going beyond anything available on high-end items.
04:10It also comes with an augment,
04:11a special effect that can enhance things like crowd control duration
04:15or interact with other stats.
04:16Augments level up as you use the gear in combat,
04:19increasing their impact over time
04:20and can also be re-rolled at a cost.
04:23Prototype gear can drop during Escalation runs
04:25and higher tier offer better chances of earning them.
04:28But drops are intentionally rare.
04:30We want these items to feel truly special.
04:32You can also upgrade your existing high-end and gear-set items in the protolab,
04:36so your current builds aren't replaced, they're pushed to new heights.
04:40Exotics aren't a part of the prototype rarity, at least for now.
04:47In this season's pass, you can look forward to some of the unique outfits
04:51of the Black Tusk Elite Squad that you'll face during Retaliations.
04:54Similarly to the seasonal modifiers,
04:56this season's gear set, Core Strengths and Exotic Mask and Vestor
05:00are about changing cores and attributes on the items
05:02in order to get further bonuses matching your playstyle.
05:05This season also introduces the Royal Works Brand Set,
05:08the Agitator Exotic Rifle and the Whiplash Exotic Pistol,
05:11which will be the reward of the Climax mission.
05:13Their talents will give different bonuses,
05:15depending on how you poster or swap your weapons,
05:17giving you new ways to plan your loadout and combat flow.
05:25As you know, we're very excited that classified assignments
05:29are back in the Division 2.
05:30This season launches the mystery of the Lost Agents,
05:34which will have you tracking anomalies on the SHD network
05:37in search of your lost colleagues.
05:39Each assignment brings you closer to the truth
05:42and to exclusive rewards as you explore new locations.
05:46The Library of Congress, where your investigation leads you
05:49to protecting the nation's history from the True Sun's threat.
05:53And the Capital Globe offices, available later this season,
05:57where you infiltrate an outcast printing operation
