00:08This week, I'm excited to bring you the all-new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor.
00:18It's a true off-roader and the most insane, over-the-top SUV I've ever driven.
00:25The Raptor has virtually nothing in common with the regular Broncos.
00:30This beauty features massive 37-inch tires and huge fender flares.
00:35Look at the width of this beast.
00:37It's over 7 feet wide.
00:39So wide, it has to have marker lights in the grille, much like the F-150 Raptor.
00:44The grille is heavily vented, as is the hood and fenders.
00:48The Raptor graphics on the side are optional, but I like them.
00:52The Raptor comes with a 3-liter V6 twin-turbo EcoBoost mated to a 10-speed shiftable automatic.
00:58Together, they put out 418 horses and 440 pound-feet of torque.
01:04This almost 5,800 pound SUV really moves, and it sounds good doing it, thanks to a true
01:12dual-exhaust system that you can change the sound from the steering wheel.
01:16You can make it quiet, or do what I do and keep it on sports.
01:22I wasn't sure what to expect inside, and was surprised to find leather and suede seats
01:28that were bolstered, but not too much.
01:30They are heated, and the driver's seat is powered.
01:33An all-digital gauge cluster looks terrific, and helps you configure all the settings to
01:39your liking.
01:40In the middle of the center stack up high is a touch screen that houses the sync system,
01:45which works very well, is quick, and simple.
01:48This runs all the audio, navigation system, apps, the setups, and the extra features, including
01:55Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
01:58Above the screen on top of the dash are your differential settings, which you need if you
02:03do any serious off-roading.
02:06The center console area is quite busy.
02:08There are cup holders, automatic temperature controls, the start-stop-defeat button, and
02:13a button to turn on the many different camera angles.
02:17This is also where you change the GOAT modes.
02:20GOAT stands for Goes Over Any Terrain.
02:24Turn the rotary dial to choose from normal, sport, baha, off-road, tow-haul, and rock-crawl
02:30for serious off-road driving.
02:33Up high there are pre-wired upfitter switches for all your added equipment.
02:37Like a winch or additional exterior lighting.
02:41Just below the armrest are the power window buttons.
02:44Although it seems like a funny spot for them, the doors come off, so the button's in the
02:49console and there's no wires to disconnect.
02:52Backseat head and legroom are both good and the occupants get a fold-down armrest, rear window
02:58buttons, USBs, and a 110 volt power outlet.
03:02The tailgate has a matching spare tire and wheel on the outside with the ability to raise
03:08the back glass.
03:09Cargo area has 35.6 cubic feet of space, but if you lower the second row seats, it increases
03:17to 77.6 cubic feet.
03:20Let's talk about configuring the Bronco.
03:22You can take all four doors off, the running boards, and the entire hardtop comes off, albeit
03:29it'll take two people.
03:30Most people will just remove the two panels over the front seats to soak in the sun.
03:35There is a larger panel over the second row seats.
03:38Although more complicated, you can remove the rest of the top.
03:42It would be a task, but it can be done.
03:44The Bronco comes with all the tools needed to go completely topless.
03:49The Bronco Raptor comes well equipped with many great features, especially on the safety
03:54front.
03:55You get adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, 360-degree
04:02cameras, and a lot more.
04:05Options include the Raptor graphics, beadlock wheels, keyless entry, the orange accents inside,
04:11and the carbon fiber around the dash.
04:14Fuel economy is rated at 15 city, 16 highway, and 15 combined.
04:20MSRP as equipped is $81,085.
04:25Sadly I did not get a chance to really go off-road with the Bronco Raptor, but can tell you
04:31there's
04:31no doubt in my mind it can do anything, anywhere.
04:35The big surprise is how enjoyable the Raptor is as a daily driver with acceptable riding
04:42on the pavement.
04:43Acceleration is terrific, and the exhaust sound is wonderful.
04:48This is truly an enjoyable SUV.
