00:02Might the war in Iran be nearing an end?
00:05President Trump says it could, and soon.
00:08Good morning, I'm Craig DeGrelli.
00:10Ahead of a prime time address tonight,
00:12Trump said Tuesday the United States could wrap up its offensive in Iran
00:17within two to three weeks.
00:19He also said reopening the Strait of Hormuz,
00:21one of the world's most critical oil routes, is, quote, not for us.
00:26I think we're two or three weeks.
00:28We'll leave, because there's no reason for us to do this.
00:31Look, problem with the Strait, a guy can take a mine,
00:34drop it in the water, and say, oh, it's unsafe.
00:37It's not like you're taking out an army, or you're taking out a country,
00:41or you can drop it.
00:42Or you can take a machine gun from the shore
00:44and shoot a little few bullets on a ship,
00:46or maybe an over-the-shoulder missile, small missiles.
00:52That's not for us.
00:53That'll be for France.
00:55That'll be for whoever's using the Strait.
00:57But I think when we leave, probably that's all cleared up.
01:00Even as he talks about exiting, the U.S. is ramping up its military presence.
01:05Thousands of additional troops are heading to the region.
01:08The aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush deployed Tuesday,
01:13along with three destroyers, part of a strike group of more than 6,000 sailors.
01:17Trump's April 6th deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait or face strikes on power plants
01:24still stands this morning.
01:26Iran's foreign minister fired back, saying Tehran will keep fighting and rejects U.S. threats.
01:32And as Trump tells allies struggling with oil supplies that the U.S. won't step in,
01:37saying they were, quote, not there for us,
01:39British Prime Minister Keir Starmer says the U.K. will host an international conference
01:44this week to address the Strait.
01:46Starmer says 35 countries have signed on.
