00:00Flying economy might finally get a major upgrade. United Airlines is rolling out something called
00:06a relax row, essentially a bed in economy. Starting in 2027, passengers on some long-haul
00:14flights will be able to book a row of three seats that convert into a flat sleeping surface.
00:19The seats come with adjustable leg rests that flip up to create a wider bed. It's big enough
00:25for two adults or even a small family to lie down. Passengers also receive extras such as a
00:32mattress, blankets, and pillows. This is the first time a US airline is offering a bed-like option in
00:38economy. But globally, it's not new. Airlines like Air New Zealand have offered similar options for
00:45years with their sky couch. The move comes as airlines try to attract travelers who want more
00:51comfort but don't want to pay business class prices. United says premium revenue has already
00:57been growing as passengers pay for more upgrades. It's still unclear how much the relax row will cost
01:04or exactly which routes it'll be available on. The bottom line, airlines are rethinking economy
01:10and features that used to be exclusive to business class are slowly making their way back to the rest
01:16of the cabin.
