00:00America cannot be, and will never be, the place where some go on a boat, like millions and millions.
00:10Let me tell you something, I am a cook and I know.
00:17It was very emotional for me because I'm a daughter of a paper son,
00:24so my dad's family came here using papers because of the Chinese Exclusion Act, where Chinese were barred from immigrating
00:34in 1882.
00:36The only way they could come here was to adopt the name of a family who was a U.S.
00:43citizen.
00:44And so I thought it was interesting that that was brought up with Wong Kim Ark, that at the time
00:51Chinese immigrants were forbidden from becoming citizens.
00:57And that part may be actually very emotional. So I was glad to be here for this bit of history.
01:03So what we want to do, we're going to introduce Chef Jose Andres.
01:09Who is robbing the state, stealing the coffers, getting rid of our public schools, trying to take our health care
01:15and literally snatch it.
01:18It was pretty incredible and felt kind of historic.
01:23I'm in my last year of law school, so it sort of felt like the culmination of what I've learned
01:30over the past three years.
01:32But also you could sort of feel the gravity of the decision that was going to be made.
01:38And seeing them sort of wrestle with that, both the council and the justices, was, I mean, crazy.
01:49In this country, few dollars in my pocket and they believe that in this country,
01:58everybody in this country can do process and equal protection and anybody trying to take it.
02:04So I think he got there before the justices came out.
02:07So I do think like, I mean, I would react, I was like, I knew he, I knew there was
02:11talks of him coming.
02:13And I definitely think that people turn to look.
02:16But I also feel like some people are trying to almost not give it attention.
02:22But I definitely feel like it changed the mood and it changed the atmosphere in some respect,
02:28because obviously there was the president of the United States in the room
02:35where they're hearing oral arguments on this critical question.
02:38So I think it's a big word into this amazing country.
02:43We are not all.
