00:00U.S. President Donald Trump has offered his latest rhetorical U-turn when it comes to the
00:04Iran war.
00:05He's posted online claiming that Iran's president had asked for a ceasefire.
00:11Now one thing to note is that Trump referred to this president as the new regime president.
00:16Iran has the same president that's had the entire war, that's Massoud Pazeshkian.
00:20Meanwhile Iran itself is saying that these claims by Trump online are, quote, false and
00:26baseless.
00:26But Trump has reiterated his threat to attack Iran militarily should the strait not open
00:34and allow energy shipments, fertilizer and other goods to pass through.
00:39Trump warned that he would bomb the Islamic Republic, quote, back to the stone ages.
00:44Trump already had set an April 6 deadline for Iran to open the strait, otherwise he had
00:49threatened that he would have the military bomb power stations.
00:53All this is coming as it just remains unclear what Trump's plans are.
00:57He's going to address the American people at 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
01:01That could see Trump offer more information or a broader view on what he plans to do.
01:07This will be Trump's first nationwide address since this war started weeks earlier.
01:13And right now there are more U.S. soldiers in the region, Marines, as well as more forces
01:19that could potentially do a ground operation on Aranskarg Island, which is its main oil terminal
01:24in the Persian Gulf, or on other islands in the Strait of Hormuz.
01:28But just given the amount of verbal U-turns that we've seen from Trump in the war, it just
01:33remains unclear sort of what's going to happen next.
01:35And the rest of the world is watching and waiting to see what Trump might say.
