00:00Construction on President Trump's swanky $400 million big beautiful ballroom has abruptly
00:05stopped. A federal judge ruled that work on the project must halt until Congress gives its approval.
00:11Clearly not an outcome the president wants. Judge Richard Leon, appointed by George W. Bush,
00:15wrote in his 35-page opinion, quote, here's the good news. It is not too late for Congress to
00:20authorize the continued construction of the ballroom project. The American people will
00:24benefit from the branches of government exercising their constitutionally prescribed roles. Not a
00:29bad outcome that, yeah, what if they could? And the president didn't see it that way. He lashed out
00:34at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, who had sued him to stop the ballroom construction,
00:38as well as his planned renovations for the Trump-Kennedy Center. He posted in part, quote,
00:42so the White House ballroom and the Trump-Kennedy Center, which are under budget, ahead of schedule,
00:46and will be among the most magnificent buildings of their kind anywhere in the world, get sued by
00:50a group that was cut off by government years ago. But all of the many disasters in our country are
00:54left alone to die. Doesn't make much sense, does it?
