00:00For the last time here on Breakfast, here is Carol with a look at this morning's weather.
00:04Thank you, Sal and John. Good morning, everyone.
00:07This morning is quite a cloudy start to the day for many of us.
00:10Some of us are already seeing some rain.
00:12There's been some mist and some fog, and that rain is coming in across the northwest of the country.
00:17And it's going to continue to push southwards and eastwards through the course of the day.
00:21Behind it, the wind changes to more of a netherly, so a colder direction.
00:25There'll be some showers and down to about 400 metres.
00:28There will also be some snow.
00:30Now, ahead of it, we're looking at a lot of cloud, maybe some brighter breaks,
00:35but the cloud, thick enough here and there for just the odd spot.
00:38And temperatures ranging from 9 to about 14 degrees.
00:42These are the maximum temperatures.
00:44But as that weather front with the rain sinks southwards, these temperatures will actually slip down.
00:49So it'll be colder by the end of the afternoon.
00:52Now, through this evening, the weather front continues to drift down towards the southeast,
00:56the rain in it turning or patchy in nature.
00:58Skies clear, but out towards the west, the cloud builds ahead of the next weather front coming our way.
01:04And we're looking at a cold night, colder than last night.
01:08Temperatures could fall away in the highlands to minus four or minus five.
01:12So here we'll see a frost.
01:13Equally, we could see a frost across parts of northern England and also Wales.
01:18So we start on that note tomorrow.
01:21A lot of dry weather around, some brightness, some sunshine, but the cloud continuing to build out towards the west.
01:27And then we've got the rain piling in.
01:30And once again, we're looking at some snow in the hills.
01:32The wind changes direction to more of a southerly, which will have more of an impact on our temperatures during
01:37the course of Good Friday.
01:39But on Thursday, we're looking at a range five to about 12 degrees.
01:44And just a heads up in the weekend, on Good Friday, it looks like it's going to be windy across
01:47northern Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England and north Wales.
01:51And then overnight Saturday into Sunday, again, could change.
01:54But it looks like we're looking at some strong winds, gales, possibly even stormy conditions in the north and west.
02:00It's just one we're keeping a close eye on.
02:03Thank you, Carol.
02:05That was perfect.
02:07Don't go too far.
02:09Shame about the weather, though.
