00:04Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for unsavory movie moments that
00:09have stayed with actors long after filming. We'll be getting into spoilers for various
00:12films, so consider this your warning. Number 10. Getting Physical with the Pie, American Pie.
00:22Raunchy sex comedies often walk a razor-thin line between either being genuinely funny
00:26or disastrously in poor taste. For the most part, American Pie falls somewhere in the middle as an
00:32admittedly problematic yet undeniably entertaining shock comedy, and in the first movie, a hilariously
00:38disturbing moment plays out. The scene in question has a delightful dessert get desecrated when Jim
00:54Levenstein becomes, uh, let's just say intimate with a freshly baked pie.
01:07The moment has been immortalized in pop culture, and evidently, the actor Jason Biggs has never been
01:13able to live it down. In early 2026, Jason revealed that he showed the scene to his son in an
01:17attempt
01:18to gain control over the embarrassing narrative and prevent future awkward discussions. Don't
01:22mess with pies, people. Number 9. High Heel Hell, Single White Female. A shoe to the face is one
01:32heck of a nasty injury, and unfortunately for Sam Rawson, that's the card he's dealt in Single
01:37White Female. The movie's about a woman named Allison, who, after breaking up with Sam, gets a new roommate
01:45named Hedra. However, this remains not entirely squeaky clean. In fact, she wants Sam to stay out
01:51of the picture, and goes so far as to kill him with a high heel straight to his eye.
01:55No!
01:58The gruesome death doesn't just make viewers squeamish, it also gives Sam's actor,
02:02Steven Weber, some bad vibes. Weber has called the scene difficult to watch, and it's understandable why.
02:07A stiletto stabbing its way into an eye, is hardly a peaceful way to go out.
02:19Number 8. Jacob's Fear of Shirts, The Twilight Saga, New Moon. What's with Twilight and its hatred
02:26of shirts? It seems like just about every scene involving the franchise's werewolves has them
02:30shirtless when they're in their human form.
02:39Sure, if you can flex the fact that you've got washboard abs, then feel free. But at a certain
02:44point, it can get exhausting. And that's exactly how Taylor Lautner felt. In movies like New Moon,
02:50his character Jacob was shirtless for many scenes. Filming those shirtless scenes put Taylor through
02:55a lot of pressure, and the expectation to look good even caused him issues with his body image.
03:00Twilight has always been about angsty taboo romances, but the franchise's obsession with
03:04over-sexualizing Jacob, and others, shines an unflattering light on the series in retrospect.
03:10Hey, my turn to talk.
03:12Number 7. The Shower Stabbing, Psycho. 90% of the time, taking a shower is completely harmless.
03:18The other 10% of the time, you might slip unexpectedly. Or, you know,
03:23get stabbed repeatedly by a deranged serial killer.
03:29That doesn't happen a lot, but it did happen to Marion Crane in Psycho.
03:33When she takes a normal shower, it turns deadly when Norman Bates pulls up to slice and dice her.
03:42The moment has been etched into cinematic history, and has had lasting long-term consequences.
03:47It was so powerful, that Marion's actress, Janet Leigh, became terrified of taking showers, and switched to baths instead.
03:54The director of Psycho, the legendary Alfred Hitchcock, often liked to push actors to their limits for genuine reactions,
04:00and that dedication to the bit clearly had major ripple effects.
04:09Number 6. The Butt Scene, Along Came Polly.
04:13This 2004 rom-com follows a straight-laced actuary named Ruben, played by Ben Stiller,
04:18who reconnects with an old, free-spirited classmate named Polly, played by Jennifer Aniston.
04:22So what's your deal? You gotta be married, with kids, and the whole thing.
04:28No, I'm not.
04:29It's a funny flick about messy relationships, though it comes with some baggage.
04:33In particular, there's a scene where Ruben's butt is visible, as he and Polly stroll towards the ocean.
04:39So, let me guess, you are here on honeymoon again? This is your beautiful bride?
04:43Oh, no, no, no, no, no, we're just hanging out.
04:45Oh, come on, it's a little more serious than that.
04:48Well, yeah, I'm just saying we're not married.
04:49The clip where he bears all became one of the actress' biggest on-screen regrets.
04:53Ben filmed it not knowing that he actually could have had a stunt double in his place.
04:56If he knew this, you could bet that he'd opt for the double.
04:59So you ready?
05:01Let's do it!
05:02Overall, Along Came Polly is a solid movie, but it has embarrassing moments.
05:07See what we did there?
05:08Never mind. Forget the pun. Let's move on.
05:11Number 5. Dinner Disaster, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
05:14For a film that's all about visceral violence and monstrous murder,
05:18one of the most haunting scenes from Texas Chainsaw is one that doesn't feature disturbing gore.
05:22Please, you can make us stop.
05:28No, we can't.
05:29The moment in question is when Sally Hardesty is strapped to a chair and subjected to dinner with the Sawyers.
05:35It's nerve-wracking and visually chaotic.
05:38Yet what makes this sequence so unsettling isn't just what we see on screen, but also what's going on off
05:43-screen.
05:43You don't gotta make us stop!
05:46Filming for the dinner scene reportedly took 27 hours straight.
05:49Plus, the humid weather and rotting meat the cast were stuck with didn't help.
05:54Gunnar Hansen, the man who portrayed Leatherface, said that the disastrous dinner was burnt into his memory.
05:59And we bet that's likely the same for the whole cast and crew.
06:06Number 4, A Real Car Crash, Kill Bill Vol. 2
06:10Many movies involve dangerous moments, and that's why during filming, stunt doubles typically complete the scenes.
06:16But sometimes, the actual actors do these stunts.
06:25It's not always smooth sailing, though, when movie stars tackle dangerous sequences.
06:29Uma Thurman, in particular, suffered a nasty injury during filming, when she accidentally crashed a blue convertible into a tree.
06:36Uma had concerns that the vehicle wasn't safe, but director Quentin Tarantino convinced her to continue with the stunt.
06:41You feel it?
06:43Euphoria?
06:44Yeah.
06:45No.
06:46Too bad.
06:47The footage didn't make it into the movie, and the crash gave Uma permanent injuries to her knee and her
06:52neck.
06:53It also strained her professional relationship to Tarantino.
06:55Uma's dedication to her role was admirable, but it's obvious that Tarantino's insistence on her doing the stunt was grossly
07:02irresponsible.
07:03You and I have unfinished business.
07:06Number 3, The Butter Scene, Last Tango in Paris.
07:09Actors blur the line between fiction and reality, but ambiguity comes with consequences.
07:14In this film about a man's affair set in Paris, there's a scene notoriously recognized as the butter scene.
07:20So you're here?
07:21What did you answer?
07:23We'll lift the butter.
07:24We'll spare the graphic details, but the encounter essentially boils down to Marlon Brando's character taking advantage of Maria Schneider's
07:31character.
07:31The way the butter was used wasn't actually written into the script, and Maria wasn't comfortable performing it.
07:36You afraid?
07:37No.
07:38The infamous scene had a profoundly negative effect on the actress, and deeply disturbed her throughout the years.
07:43It's a shameful situation that nobody should have to go through.
07:46The role of intimacy coordinators in the film and television industry was introduced around 2017.
07:52However, they clearly should have been integrated into Hollywood much earlier.
07:56Got a surprise for you.
07:58That's good.
08:02Unlike surprises.
08:03Number 2, Baseball Bat Brutality, The Shining.
08:06Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, a masterful adaptation of the Stephen King book, unfortunately has a complicated legacy.
08:13And are you concerned about me?
08:15Of course I am!
08:17It's no secret that Kubrick pushed actress Shelley Duvall to extreme lengths to capture her portrayal of a mother stuck
08:23in a bad situation.
08:24The scene when Wendy Torrance tries to thwart her husband, Jack, with a baseball bat took 127 takes.
08:30Stay away from me.
08:32Please!
08:34Don't hurt me.
08:35I'm not gonna hurt you.
08:36Stay away from me!
08:38Wendy?
08:38Stay away!
08:39Darling?
08:40Light of my life!
08:42Duvall noted that her time on the film significantly strained her emotional well-being.
08:46Some filmmakers like to suffer for their art.
08:48Truth be told, we can argue back and forth about if that's worth it or not.
08:52Stop swinging the bat.
08:53Stay away!
08:54But regardless of whatever side you land on, what's absolutely undeniable is that subjecting cast and crew
08:59to horrible working conditions to achieve art is simply not right.

09:19Number 1.
09:20The entire movie.
09:22Possession.
09:22Many scenes have been disastrous for the actors involved.
09:25But when it comes to possession, the entire movie proved to be a traumatic experience unlike any other.
09:30I don't trust you.
09:31I have to tell him face to face.
09:34I don't trust you.
09:35It's an intense horror story about a woman who leaves her husband and soon spirals into some incredibly dark territories.
09:47Because of the disturbing subject matter, incredibly physical stunts, and intense performances,
09:52the project has haunted the cast and led to some dramatic events.
09:56Most notably, the lead actress Isabella Gianni allegedly attempted to take her own life after watching the film.
10:02Since then, Gianni has said that she'd never accept something so violent ever again.
10:06Possession isn't just a scary movie.
10:08It's a chilling supernatural thriller that could have claimed the life of its main star.
10:18Are there any chilling scenes actors have suffered from that we missed?
10:21Tell all the horror stories down in the comments.
