QUICK THINKING STRANGERS RESCUE KOALA FROM BUSY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC WITH VID By Divij Mayer Check out this heartwarming moment as a stranded koala is saved from a dangerous highway crossing. Dario Bravo, from Victoria, Australia, filmed the rescue after spotting the animal sitting in the middle of the road as cars passed by at high speed. He said: “We were driving down the highway and spotted a koala in the middle of the road, given that cars were driving by at 100 kmh we knew we had to do something.” The group quickly pulled over and stepped in to help, guiding the koala safely across before continuing their journey. He added: “We pulled over and jumped into action, helping it cross the road safely before continuing on with our journey.” One user commented: ‘Omg poor guy thanks for rescuing him!’ Another added: ‘So glad he made it across safely!!’ ENDS

00:00So we were driving along the highway and suddenly we spot something in the middle of the road.

00:03The koala is just sitting there and cars flying past at about 100 kilometers an hour.

00:08It's not exactly the safest place for this little guy so we pulled over straight away and obviously

00:12not supposed to pick these little guys up so Cecilia had an idea to use a towel to kind of

00:17help shuffle the guy along. The poor thing looked a bit confused and as you can see in the background

00:21cars were just zooming past. We tried to stay calm, give it a little bit of space and kind of

00:26waved down cars to slow down but luckily this small guy made it to the other side of the road

00:30unscathed

00:31and could go home to his koala family. I think this was a job well done.
