A severe air quality warning has been issued for various regions in the United States as harmful particles contaminate the atmosphere in Arizona, Oregon, and California. Over 500,000 individuals have been advised to remain indoors as dangerous pollutants known as PM2.5 reach alarming levels.

These tiny particles can penetrate deep into the respiratory system and may lead to breathing difficulties, inflammation, cardiovascular problems, and other significant health concerns. Areas including Gilbert, Chandler, Eugene, and El Centro have reported some of the poorest air quality measurements.

Authorities are advising residents to shut their windows, refrain from outdoor activities, wear masks if they need to venture outside, and utilize air purifiers to minimize exposure.
