00:04Welcome to Peacock NBA Monday presented by Xfinity.
00:11Welcome to Miami. It was a beautiful day. The weather is warming up.
00:15The NBA playoff race is warming up as well as we're headed into the last two weeks of the season
00:21with the big Eastern Conference matchup tonight.
00:23Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat for Tyrese Maxey.
00:27Tonight is his second game back after missing 10 games with a right pinky injury.
00:33He was great at a win against Charlotte and, of course, Bam Adebayo recently up 83 points in a game,
00:39averaging 20 points, 10 boards, and about four assists per game this year.
00:45In the Eastern Conference standings, the Philadelphia 76ers with their win on Saturday.
00:50They're eight games over .500. They're in seventh.
00:53Miami, 39-36. They are in ninth.
00:56And, by the way, this is the third and final matchup between these two teams this year.
01:01Hi, everyone. With the great Brian Scalabrini, I'm Mark Folliwell.
01:04This is the tiebreaker in the season series between these two teams.
01:07You just saw the standings, the proximity of one another in the standings.
01:11Two teams going in kind of different directions in terms of how they're playing right now.
01:15What's the mindset for these two teams today?
01:17Yeah, let's go with that one, Mark.
01:18Philadelphia coming off an amazing game against Charlotte where they dominated the fourth quarter on the road in a must
01:25-win.
01:26For Miami, they're in Indiana, a game they need to win, and Indiana outscores them 27-11.
01:33Both teams want to get wins.
01:35Both teams want to stay out of the play-in tournament, but they've got to both kind of figure out
01:39what this game means to them.
01:40Well, they both played over the weekend, and there's no changes in the starting lineup tonight.
01:45For Philadelphia, they got their big three together for just the 18th time this year.
01:50Maxie, Paul George, Joel Embiid, the talented rookie from Baylor, Vijay Edgecombe,
01:55and Dominic Barlow, who was on a two-way contract earlier this season.
01:58That completes their starting quintet.
02:01And, meanwhile, Davion Mitchell from Baylor, Tyler Hero, Pella Larson in his second season in the league,
02:07Andrew Wiggins, and Bam Adebayo starting for the Miami Heat.
02:12Eric Spolstra's team has to cope with another game without Norman Powell.
02:16Spolstra, in his 18th season, is Miami's head coach, the longest-tenured coach in U.S. professional sports right now.
02:25Obviously, another good year for Miami.
02:28Meanwhile, Nick Nurse, in his eighth year as an NBA head coach, his third season with the Philadelphia 76ers,
02:34a champion with the Toronto Raptors, Eric Spolstra, of course, knows a thing or two about winning championships with the
02:40Miami Heat.
02:41So, it's a great coaching matchup for a game of importance again.
02:45The standings, there's proximity, and this is the tiebreaker game.
02:50They're only playing three times.
02:51Scowl, one win for Miami, one win for Philadelphia.
02:55That puts a lot of importance on this one tonight as well.
02:57And I love how both coaches approach it.
03:00So, with Nick Nurse, he's getting Embiid, he's getting Paul George and Maxie back.
03:04And he's like, hey, we're just going to figure it out as we go.
03:07And Spolstra's doing the same thing.
03:08Doesn't know what happened to their defense, but they're saying it doesn't matter.
03:12What matters is we've got to find a way to get a win.
03:16Miami controls the opening tip, and we're underway.
03:20And here's a quick thrust to the basket and score for Pella Larson.
03:24Yeah, a lot of misdirection with the back screen on one side.
03:27Pella Larson sees that lane right to the basket.
03:30Miami loves to drive in one-on-one situations.
03:33Almost 13 points per game post All-Star break for Larson as a quick answer from Philadelphia.
03:39On the elbow pull-up from Vijay Eskom, the rookie.
03:43Eskom going into play tonight, 16 points per game.
03:48Right side of the floor, Wiggins put it down off of Bam Adebayo's screen.
03:52And then it's Davion Mitchell driving and scoring at Miami.
03:55Two drives, which is what they do, Scowl.
03:58They lead the league.
03:59They drive it 61 times per game.
04:01And it's been on point on the first two possessions.
04:04Also, Miami averages 31 points a game in the first quarter.
04:08They like to get out to a hot start.
04:09Three-pointer Embiid on the money.
04:12Since returning, Embiid has been spectacular.
04:15He's playing inside.
04:17He's playing outside.
04:18He's doing it all for Philly.
04:1935 last week against Chicago, then 29 on Saturday against Charlotte.
04:24Inside Wiggins.
04:25Try to follow home his own miss.
04:26It's Dominic Barlow with the rebound for the 76ers.
04:30Here's Tyrese Maxey setting up.
04:32Maxey returned from a 10-game absence and was outstanding.
04:37And a four-point win over the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night.
04:41He had an electrifying poster dunk in the fourth quarter.
04:44He drives and dishes to Paul George.
04:47George had a key three, a go-ahead for good three late in the game.
04:51He missed on that attempt.
04:53And the ball out of bounds to Miami.
04:57Tyler Herro.
05:01By six to lane.
05:03Pulls up and hits.
05:04They need Tyler Herro to be aggressive.
05:06Whether it's two-man game with Bam Adebayo or going isolation,
05:09they need scoring tonight without Norman Powell.
05:13Did have his second-highest scoring game of the year last night.
05:1531 points.
05:17Now here's a lost ball by Maxey.
05:19The save in by Andrew Wiggins.
05:22Miami loves to push it.
05:24In and out on the three.
05:25Tyler Herro.
05:33Adebayo defending.
05:34A little bump from Embiid.
05:36Fades and hits.
05:37Embiid is so skilled when he gets in that 15-foot range.
05:40He needs very little space to get the shot off.
05:4336th game of the year for Embiid.
05:44On the move, Bam Adebayo draws a foul.
05:47The first on Embiid.
05:49And the first team foul.
05:51All right, look at the two-and-a-half-minutes play.
05:53And look at Miami's defense lately.
05:55I mean, they're known as a hard-nosed defensive team.
05:58But look at that.
05:59Look at those numbers.
06:01I mean, that is atrocious defensively.
06:03Not getting it done.
06:05In a point of time in the season where they have to stack up wins.
06:09They were playing great right up until March 16th.
06:12And then the bottom fell out on them.
06:14Bam on the free-throw line.
06:16That 149 given up on Friday night against Cleveland.
06:20The most ever allowed by the Miami Heat in a game in franchise history.
06:25And we have to understand that it's going to be a little bit paced adjusted.
06:28Miami, 27th in the NBA in pace last year.
06:31They play a lot faster.
06:32So obviously more opportunity to score.
06:35But still, those numbers are not getting it done.
06:37That is not the Miami Heat way.
06:39More on Miami's defense.
06:41Let's introduce the third member of our crew, our courtside reporter, Jordan Cornett.
06:44Jordan.
06:45Had a chance to talk to Jaime Hawkins.
06:46And he said, defense, it's got to come from everyone.
06:48Everyone has to do more.
06:49We have more deflections.
06:50Steals, rebounds.
06:52This is the moment where we can keep hold of the rope or let go and fall down the mountain,
06:57guys.
06:57Well, so far, so good on the offensive end of the floor.
07:00Damion Mitchell scoring for the second time in the game.
07:03Knocking down Miami's first three.
07:04Harris Bolster talked about, no matter what it is, a missed shot, a turnover.
07:09They want to get out and run.
07:10They want to try to get the ball to the paint and play from there.
07:14Drive and flush for Paul George.
07:16Miami up by two.
07:17Just over three minutes played.
07:19Bam for three.
07:20And it's good.
07:22So Bam out of bio in his first nine season, 121 threes, that's his 122nd three of this season.
07:31So he's shooting the threes a lot more.
07:33And speaking of shooting at three, our response from Paul George from Philadelphia.
07:36Paul George was so much better since his 25-game absence.
07:42Said he feels physically much better.
07:45Moving more quickly on the floor.
07:47Dominic Barlow after it was lost by Tyler Hero.
07:50Both teams on the deck.
07:52Jump ball is lost.
07:54All right, let's go back to this Paul George three.
07:57Watch him drift into space.
08:00Take no time.
08:01Oh, this is a drive where Paul George is turning a corner and elevating, throwing it down.
08:05I don't know if I've seen that all season.
08:09Next time he's...
08:1026-point game, Scalham.
08:11Yeah, and then the next time he drifted into space and knocked down a three.
08:15So there's no question Paul George is playing with a ton of confidence.
08:17And he looks fresh.
08:21Jump ball, Dominic Barlow.
08:23Barlow, that is.
08:24Tyler Hero, controlled by Miami.
08:26Checking the shot clock.
08:28Bam on a pile.
08:28Into paint.
08:29By the shoot.
08:29He hits again.
08:31Bam had a lot of success against Joel and Bede in the regular season.
08:39Maxey on the drive and Dish.
08:42Four minutes gone by in the game.
08:45Miami at home and front by four.
08:47Back down and Bede deep in the paint to score.
08:50Yeah, if you don't see a lot of that from Embiid, I think he's mad that Adebayo's going back at
08:54him.
08:55Quick attack off a paint basket.
08:57Drive and Dish.
08:57Mitchell finds Andrew Wiggins for a three ball.
09:00And that's what Spolster was talking about.
09:01No matter what, we want to start our offense from the paint.
09:05Another back down here for Embiid.
09:07And down he goes.
09:09Whistle a bit late.
09:11Trick to the free throw line for Joel and Bede with Philadelphia down by five.
09:16Yeah, if you're Philadelphia, you've got to be really excited about this.
09:19And Bede taking his time, getting to his spot.
09:21But watch this aggressiveness right here.
09:23To the middle.
09:24Jump stop.
09:25Goes right up.
09:27And here he is again against the double team.
09:29Splits it.
09:30A la Tim Duncan-like.
09:35And Bede has made four straight shots, but it's a trip at the other end of the floor to the
09:39free throw line for Embiid.
09:43Embiid has hit 85.5% on free throws this year, averaging approximately nine attempts from the line per game.
09:51And it goes to the stripe with 7.32 left of the quarter.
09:58Foul on Bam for his first.
10:01And the first team foul on Miami.
10:04Now, Embiid has missed some time, but in his last 14 games, he scored over 24 points in each of
10:12those games.
10:13And since his return, averaging 32 points a game in the last two games.
10:18Six boards in both of those games.
10:21And now here's Miami.
10:22Loose ball.
10:23Track down.
10:24Wiggins got it.
10:27Now Wiggins defended by Barlow.
10:31Glancing at the other end of the floor to check the shot clock.
10:33Plenty of time for Davion Mitchell.
10:35Off the bounce, driving on Barlow.
10:37And Mitchell misses.
10:41A rebound for Paul George.
10:43And down to hands of DJ Edgecombe.
10:45Man, who brought the trampoline?
10:48Edgecombe high above the rim.
10:50The alley-oop finish.
10:52An electrifying player.
10:54DJ Edgecombe scores and scores off the alley-oop pass.
10:57And then a turnover force.
10:59They're in the open court.
11:00A long three.
11:01Maxey in and out.
11:06Now Tyler Hero looks for three.
11:10Missed it off-line.
11:13Embiid the rebound.
11:15Embiid brings it up the floor.
11:17Eskin the sensational finish a moment ago, but gives it up.
11:20Now Embiid over.
11:21Mitchell comes up short, looking to draw the foul.
11:29And off to Hero.
11:31Mini for Tyler Hero.
11:33Soft touch.
11:33It falls.
11:38Tyler Hero's second basket of the game.
11:42Autobio leads Miami with seven.
11:45Embiid's got nine early on.
11:49Edgecombe on the ball.
11:52Embiid for a pick-and-pop, too.
11:54Embiid looks a little tired.
11:55Miami should push the ball right now.
11:57And they are.
11:58Orson finishes in transition.
12:00Nick Nurse going to let them go.
12:02Smart play by Miami.
12:04Embiid right now is a little bit slow up the floor.
12:07No, Nick Nurse going to go with a timeout.
12:12After Paul George brings it into the front court.
12:16535, Lund to the first quarter.
12:18Mark, this was ridiculous.
12:21Look at him.
12:22Paul George throwing it high.
12:24Oh, my goodness.
12:27Edgecombe, 77, throwing it down.
12:35Offense has been a staple of what Miami has done this year, particularly early in games, including tonight.
12:41They go into play tonight.
12:42Tied for the most points per first quarter.
12:44Almost 32 overall.
12:47120 points a game.
12:48Second in the league.
12:50122 points for a home game.
12:51That's first.
12:52Out of the timeout.
12:53And Paul missed.
12:54And Bam on fire, runs the floor, and flushes.
12:57And Philadelphia's going to attack right back and score.
13:00Paul George, and he draws a foul.
13:02What a great counterpunch from both teams.
13:06This is windshield wiper basketball in the first seven minutes tonight.
13:11Yeah, Embiid missed the shot.
13:13So Bam gets out and runs, throws it down.
13:15Miami doesn't get back, complaining about a call.
13:18And on the other end, Khalil Ware with the push.
13:21Paul George out in transition.
13:25And you mentioned the points.
13:28One thing about Miami, they look great in the first quarter.
13:32They need to figure out a way to make this sustainable.
13:36Why can't they run all game?
13:37They're pushing on makes.
13:39They're pushing on misses.
13:40They have to find a way, when things aren't going well, to continue to do what their identity is this
13:46season,
13:46which is play fast.
13:48Number one in pace.
13:50After a three-point play by Paul George, the lead for the Heat, four points.
13:54Hero up the baseline to score.
13:56Got a little Pinoy step on the baseline.
13:59Hero, highly skilled player.
14:03Entries have limited him to just 29 games as of tonight.
14:07Rebound for Ware off the missed three-point shot by Etchko.
14:13De'Vion Mitchell attacking, throwing a lob.
14:15Oh, where's Green at finishing alley-oop with that one beyond his reach.
14:20Couldn't cleanly haul it in, and it's out of bounds.
14:22Yeah, bad read by Mitchell.
14:23Probably should have challenged Embiid at the basket.
14:26Thought Embiid came over, but to his credit, Embiid is one of the best in the league
14:31at drop coverage and playing two guys at the rim.
14:35He's not going to be fooled by a play like that.
14:37And he stays in the game.
14:40Interesting to note in our conversation with Nick Nurse before the game,
14:43with Paul George coming back,
14:46Joel Embiid just back from 13 games out,
14:48due to an oblique strain, Tyrese Maxey.
14:50He said there's no minutes restrictions for any of those three individuals.
14:54Feels like he's concerned more about getting them more minutes together
14:57than he is about overplaying them at this point in time in the season.
15:02They do make some changes.
15:04Kelly Oubre, Jr., Quentin Grimes both in.
15:06And it's gone from the corner.
15:08Drills the three-pointer for Philly.
15:10Miami was in that zone.
15:12They got blitzed by Indiana in the zone.
15:14They came out with it to no success on that one.
15:18Miami lost last night at Indiana, 135-118.
15:22Hero, the step back rattles home.
15:25Hero has to be aggressive all night
15:27and have to do more than just the first quarter.
15:31To answer on the other routes.
15:33Glancing off the iron of Paul George III.
15:40Bam on the perimeter.
15:42Edgecombe picked him up.
15:43Touch pass by Mitchell.
15:45Jaime Jaquez, Jr. is in the game.
15:47The top bench score in the league
15:49among six-man eligible players.
15:52Connects on a jumper along the baseline.
15:54And really smart play.
15:55Get in feet away from the basket.
16:02Lead is nine.
16:04Closed out to Edgecombe.
16:06Cross-court pass to Oubre from Paul George.
16:09Three-pointer no.
16:10And where the rebound?
16:14Dream start for Miami.
16:15Having lost seven of eight.
16:17But up by nine and a chance to push it to double digits.
16:21Just over three minutes left in the first quarter at home.
16:24They excel on back-to-backs.
16:2611-4 on the second night.
16:28Giant killer in the lane.
16:29No good for Hero.
16:30Offensive rebound.
16:31Ware.
16:32Shot in the paint.
16:33That comes up short.
16:35Oh, and Kelly Oubre is down.
16:37Hero keeps the ball alive.
16:39A foul is called here on Oubre.
16:41Yeah.
16:43Rough landing there for Kelly Oubre
16:46as we look at our DraftKings live spread.
16:5076ers pregame a minus two and a half.
16:53Now a plus one and a half.
16:56DraftKings the number one sportsbook for live betting.

17:04Davion Mitchell just checked out.
17:06He was excellent.
17:07Let's see if Miami can keep that same pace with him on the bench.
17:11Ware does stretch the floor and hits a three-pointer.
17:15Yeah, this is not uncommon for him to knock down.
17:17Three or four threes in a game.
17:1937% on threes this year.
17:21And Miami's on a nine-long run right now.
17:26Paul George, he's the one who picked up the foul a moment ago.
17:28His first, he goes cross-court.
17:30Grimes.
17:31The zone defense has been good after that first possession for Miami.
17:36Billy not a great three-point shooting team.
17:3835% this year.
17:40See how they're isolating Embiid away from the basket.
17:44And then Hiro drives on him.
17:47And a foul is called.
17:502-23 left in the first quarter.
17:53Miami in front by a dozen at home.
17:58Miami's game plan.
17:59He's got a score before Embiid sets up that defense.
18:02And right now, out in transition,
18:04Kyler Hiro draws about three guys to the paint.
18:06Kicks it out.
18:07Here's Bam leading the break.
18:09Kelly Larson with the dunk.
18:11And then Davion Mitchell.
18:12He's a blur.
18:13Bam throwing it down.
18:15If you're going to score against Philly,
18:17the best way to do it is to try to negate Embiid.
18:21And the way to do that is to push the ball.
18:23And you look at the first quarter stats.
18:25Seven fast break points.
18:27Sharing the ball.
18:28Ten assists from Miami and 14 made baskets.
18:31They've already hit six threes in this game.
18:34They score a lot, of course, because of their high-paced scale.
18:37You're talking fast break points.
18:38Miami's 18 a game.
18:40Fourth best.
18:41And for what it's worth,
18:42Philadelphia does concede a lot of fast break points.
18:4576ers give up 17 fast break points a game.
18:48That's the sixth most in the league.
18:49Yeah, and so Philly likes to crash the offensive glass,
18:52especially when Embiid is not there.
18:54So when you do that, you're going to have to give something up.
18:57But right now, the story of Miami is not this.
19:00The story of Miami is can they maintain this?
19:04Because it seems like every game they have a quarter
19:07where they're in the teens in the court.
19:09And that's not going to get it done against really good teams.
19:12Well, alert the media.
19:13Tyler Hero just missed a free throw, 93.7%.
19:17That's just his seventh missed free throw
19:19in 97 attempts this season.
19:22He doesn't have enough to qualify
19:24for the league-leading free throw percentage,
19:26which is what he achieved last year in 93.4.
19:321-2 on the line for Hero.
19:3410-0 run against the Heat Zone defense.
19:39Tyrese Maxey turns down an outside shot
19:41and hits a baseline pull-up from about 18.
19:44Yeah, with Joel Embiid in the middle,
19:45he presents so much gravity.
19:46He got the ball one time
19:48and three guys surrounded him.
19:52That inside 10-0 scoring run for Miami
19:56as Tyrese Maxey knocks down the baseline jumper.
20:00But 46 left first quarter.
20:02Hero was on the line a moment ago.
20:05Possession at the end.
20:06Good defense.
20:07Tyrese Maxey, league leader, and steals.
20:09But a block there.
20:10And it works fast.
20:11And it's Edgecombe again.
20:13Maxey's a blur, Edgecombe's a blur.
20:16Philadelphia giving Miami a little taste of their own medicine in transition.
20:20Tyler here was straightaway three.
20:23He was in and so it wasn't.
20:25Drew Smith is in the game for Miami.
20:28He has not played in the last four games.
20:30Providing some point of attack defense against Tyrese Maxey.
20:35Fights over the deep screen.
20:37Smith guarding Maxey.
20:38Shot clock at 7.
20:39Slinging a pass inside to Grimes.
20:42He then finds Edgecombe for the corner three.
20:44See, they're not pushing the ball at the same pace as they were earlier in the game.
20:51They do run a pick and roll with Hero and Ware.
20:54Ware turned down to the outside shot.
20:57And then ends up with Tyler Hero drawing a foul.
21:0054 seconds left in the corner.
21:02Yeah, Hero trying to be aggressive right here.
21:04Good defense by Maxey.
21:05I thought he was going to turn the corner.
21:07Good job by Bams.
21:09Brinking ahead of one of the fastest guys in the league.
21:11But Edgecombe gets to the basket.
21:13Nice play by Tyrese Maxey.
21:15Nine in the first quarter for Edgecombe as he goes out.
21:20That baseline jumper by Tyrese Maxey a moment ago.
21:24Just a second field goal attempt.
21:25And his first make.
21:27A foul a moment ago on Quentin Grimes.
21:29First in the last two minutes.
21:31Simone Bontekio is in.
21:33Aaron pass tracked down by Ware.
21:36Screens for Drew Smith.
21:38A hand by Maxey.
21:39Thought he had a clear strip.
21:41Referee Trey Maddox calls the foul on Tyrese Maxey, which is his first.
21:46And two now in the last two minutes of Freebie's coming for the Heat.
21:49Oh, that's a tough call.
21:51Maxey got a lot of ball.
21:56Oh, that's tough.
22:01One thing to look out for right here.
22:05Philly would definitely play two for one, looking to shoot the ball around 31 seconds on the shot clock, on
22:10the game clock.
22:12Nick Nurse just does challenge a lot and quite successfully, 42 out of 60 on challenges, but opted not to
22:19there.
22:20As Drew Smith goes to the free throw line.
22:22He's made 83% this year.
22:24Tonight is 68 games of the season.
22:26And they call a foul.
22:27It's good.
22:28Maxey.
22:30Tyrese Maxey chance for a three-point play.
22:33They didn't wait until 31 seconds.
22:35Maxey scores at 36.
22:36Ah, full gas, no break.
22:39Maxey gets contact.
22:40This is a play that you see all the superstars making in the NBA.
22:44Body control, touch on the rim.
22:47Now we have to bring this up.
22:49Miami should go two for one.
22:52Getting no indication from the Miami bench if they are going two for one, but they should try to push
22:57it.
22:57You can get up the floor in about three and a half seconds if you're an elite NBA player.
23:03A good one.
23:04Oubre is out of the game.
23:05Justin Edwards is in.
23:09Pass ahead by Smith.
23:12Wiggins a drive.
23:14Smith a drive.
23:18Fontechio didn't make a shot for the four last night.
23:22No two for one, but now Fontechio with a chance for the four.

24:2710-1 Philadelphia run
24:29You're watching Peacock NBA Monday
24:32Presented by Xfinity
24:37The Sixers made a late first quarter push. Confidence is high. Confidence is also high because of this sheet of
24:43paper I'm holding right here. An injury report for the Philadelphia 76ers. For the second consecutive game, it looks barren
24:51like this.
24:52You'd have to go back two months for an injury report to look like this for the Philadelphia 76ers.
24:57Now, of course, you see Janai Broom on there. Well, he's had surgery. He's been out for about a month.
25:01Tyrese Maxey. Well, that's league protocol because he wears a splint on his finger, but clearly available and out here
25:07playing high-level basketball.
25:08I had a chance to talk to Kelly Oubre and he said, hey, look, it's like going into a fight
25:12and you're under man for the majority of those fights, but all of a sudden you show up with your
25:16chest puffed out because you've got all your guys and you are ready to brawl.
25:20This group is confident and ready for a playoff push, trying to improve their seating. And with that finish in
25:25the first quarter, showing that they mean business, guys.
25:29It was really intriguing to talk to Nick Nurse before the game, Scal, and a great report from Jordan about
25:35the mindset for Philly, but he said Tyrese Maxey, he said, look, it's always surprising when a player has a
25:41long layoff and comes back with rhythm.
25:42But he immediately pointed to how much Maxey worked during his 10 games out due to that pinky injury and
25:50was ready to hit the ground running.
25:51He's let the game come to him so far tonight, just five points in the first quarter, but 26.7
25:56boards, eight assists, and 43 minutes on Saturday night.
26:00Yeah, basically Nick Nurse was like, every time I saw Tyrese Maxey, he was running up and down the stairs,
26:05up and down the court, playing guys one-on-one, shooting.
26:08Like, he was doing everything. So, it's understandable that he comes back and looks this sharp.
26:14Well, he's got seven, and Bede has nine, and Paul George has 11.
26:18Edgecombe with nine as well. 12-1. Philadelphia run.
26:23Fantecchio over Grimes. Missed on a three, and Quentin Grimes with a rebound.
26:28And then once Colster went to the bench here, it's a disprovement, struggling to score.
26:35Paul George is not struggling to score. 14 to lead all players tonight, as he connects on another three.
26:44Three threes, five of seven overall for Paul George.
26:49Hacquez to Fantecchio.
26:5376ers go in front on the PG-3.
26:57Hacquez to answer.
26:59A dim bonus in to start the second quarter, playing minutes at center and grabs the rebound.
27:06After connecting from the outside, Paul George into the paint.
27:10Late dish to Grimes.
27:13Grimes screens. Fantecchio on a switch.
27:17Low clock situation.
27:19A step back, a contested one.
27:22And Fantecchio the rebound.
27:27Fantecchio over the top.
27:29Well, Ware on the second opportunity flushes.
27:33That's what I'm talking about.
27:35A little post-up, around the paint, in the restricted area.
27:40Ware is top ten of the league in both dunks and second chance points.
27:45And speaking of dunks, it was a chance for Grimes.
27:47And he follows in his own mince.
27:49Yeah, that is a tough, tough putback for Grimes.
27:54It's the first offensive rebound of the game for the 76ers.
27:58Ware just scored inside.
27:59Shoots him the outside.
28:01Oubre, the defensive rebound.
28:03In transition.
28:05Slingshot across the court by Maxey to Grimes.
28:07To arriving, Kelly Oubre.
28:09Nice finish in the paint.
28:10So this group right here was the group that had to play a ton in addition to Maxey and George.
28:17But Grimes, him, Oubre, and Bona have all been playing really well.
28:22Baseline jumper no good.
28:23Andrew Wiggins.
28:26Philadelphia has their biggest lead.
28:2876ers.
28:29Attack on two or three more to him.
28:34Five main threes in the game for Philly.
28:36Overall, they're shooting 57% for the floor in the first quarter and change.
28:39Stands till three over Larson.
28:42Missed by Maxey.
28:49Three minutes gone by.
28:50In the second quarter.
28:51Here's a drive and a spin and a circus finish by Wiggins as he draws the foul.
28:58Opportunity for three the old-fashioned way and can tie the game.
29:01Really simple play.
29:02Just get the ball to the other side of the floor.
29:03Look how much space Wiggins has on this drive.
29:06There is a spin and then kisses it off the glass.
29:10On the other side, Sixers doing a great job of having that balance of attack.
29:14But also, look for cutters.
29:16Oubre right down the middle with a finish with the right hand.
29:22First player for the 76ers tonight with two fouls is now Paul George.
29:27On the Miami side, Ware has two fouls.
29:33Ware's out.
29:34Bam, Autobio's back in.
29:35So one thing to note, like Miami went with a bunch of bench guys, right?
29:40And it's understandable.
29:41When you're on a back-to-back, you're trying to get as many guys in the game that can impact
29:46the game as you can.
29:47Because you never know who's going to have it on that night.
29:50So it's understandable why Miami did it.
29:53It's just that it didn't play well when they were in there.
29:55A strong move inside.
29:57It was missed by Oubre.
29:59And then Bona on the put-back attempt does draw a foul.
30:02And we'll go to the line.
30:03I love the identity of this group, right?
30:07The first group had the MB.
30:09He's running nice.
30:10So these guys are junkyard dogs.
30:13Getting to the basket, offensive rebounding, more cutting, more movement for this Philadelphia 76ers group.
30:21You mentioned that Bona was one of the guys who had to play a lot of minutes when Embiid, Paul
30:26George, and Tyrese Maxey were all out for significant chunks of this month of March.
30:33Bona started 10 games in March, averaging 7 points, 6 boards, 23 minutes, about a block and a half of
30:39games.
30:40This is a player two years running who's a top five player in the league in blocks for 100%.
30:45Yeah, and there's no one way to navigate an NBA season to have success in the postseason.
30:53You can be healthy.
30:54You can get a guy halfway through the season, whatever it is.
30:57But right now, it looks like Philly has a lot of things going well for them.
31:02This group that probably needed some time and they weren't going to get it got some experience.
31:06And now you have some older guys that probably need some rest to get back.
31:16Foul on Bona, his first.
31:20Bam Adebayo picked up his second foul a moment ago.
31:27Bam, over the last four games, only 30% from the floor and just 4 of 30 on 3.
31:33Goes to the free throw line and misses the first of two.
31:36You want to own a game-worn jersey from your favorite NBA player.
31:40Well, just scan to bid on official game-worn jerseys all season long.
31:44Go to NBA auctions.
31:45You're home for authentic game-worn jerseys.
31:51We did ask, by the way, with Eric Spolster before the game,
31:54if defenses are covering Bam Adebayo any differently since the 83-point game
31:59back on March the 10th against the Wizards.
32:01And he said no, he hasn't noticed much in the way of changes for out defenses.
32:05They're gearing for South Adebayo, who, of course, got off to such a great start in that game.
32:0931 points in the first quarter.
32:11Yeah, I mean, he's scoring big numbers, but his efficiency is way down.
32:16So, that has to change for Miami.
32:20Inside, Oubre misses it, should be it.
32:22Chants back to him, and he misses it.
32:24Another who's just in too deep.
32:26Couldn't carve out enough space to finish.
32:27Quick attack, Miami, three ball.
32:29Straight music, Simone Fontecchio.
32:32And as soon as they check in, Davion Mitchell, the pace gets increased.
32:40Longer defender, Wiggins on Tyrese Maxey.
32:43Swing it to Oubre, corner three missed, Fontecchio with it for Miami.
32:48And accelerating up ahead, it's Mitchell.
32:52Now Bam.
32:54Bona defending.
32:56Got a backing down.
32:57A pump fake.
32:58Spun into traffic.
33:00Out to Fontecchio, looking for another three-pointer.
33:03Long rebound.
33:05Karems to Bam Adebayo, got in one of the arms of Adebayo.
33:09And another foul on Bona to send Adebayo to the free throw.
33:12That's a smart play by Bam.
33:15You take a look, as soon as he feels contact and that arm right there,
33:19you see the elite offensive players across the league feeling contact,
33:23going up, and getting two for that play.
33:28About 78% this year on free throws.
33:31Bam Adebayo had a one of two on the line a moment ago.
33:35733 left in the second quarter of what is the third and final regular season matchup
33:41between Philly and Miami.
33:43The standings going into nine.
33:4576ers are seventh.
33:47Miami, they're ninth.
33:48Same record as the Charlotte Hornets, but they own the tiebreaker over the Hornets.
33:52This will decide the tiebreaker, Scowl, because in November,
33:56Miami won at Philly, 127-117 late February.
34:01Philadelphia will be Miami, 124-117.
34:04So 1-1, even Steven going into the game.
34:06Yeah, and you know, with Miami, you can't go to Indiana and lose that game.
34:13Oh, here, face guard blockout on Pella Larson.
34:16Yeah, we spell foul on Miami on Larson.
34:18Yeah, unless Bona grabbed him, that's going to be a face guard blockout.
34:25You're not allowed to face guard blockout a guy.
34:28Oh, no, he's got good position.
34:30Oh, they should challenge that.
34:31And that's what, oh, Spolcher's going to hit that green light special.
34:37See it right there.
34:41Yeah, Bona pulling it down.
34:42They're probably, Miami, probably going to win this one.
34:46Coach is challenged by Eric Spolster with the heat in front by three.
34:52By Xfinity, proud partner of the NBA.
34:58The scenes of Miami, you just saw that a moment ago.
35:02We welcome you back inside Kaseya Center.
35:04What was it called?
35:06So, you can see it right there.
35:08Pella Larson, Bona.
35:12So, we got an unsuccessful challenge.
35:14Look at that.
35:16Larson trying to block out on the inside.
35:22The college foul on Larson.
35:26Interesting.
35:26And so, it's an unsuccessful challenge.
35:30No challenges the rest of the way for Miami.
35:33Both of these coaches are good on their challenges.
35:35Yeah, they are.
35:36Success rate.
35:36Nick Nurse is fifth.
35:37And Eric Spolster is seventh.
35:3969% this year, but misses on that one.
36:10Into the middle of the defense for a free throw line.
36:11The assist-to-turnover ratio.
36:14To that point, fifth in the league, 4.2-1 is assist-to-turnover ratio.
36:18Yeah, usually you don't see him get sped up.
36:21He got sped up on that play.
36:23With his defensive ability, usually he's the guy speeding up.
36:27Exactly.
36:28Someone else.
36:28But a lost ball here by Mitchell.
36:35Miami, despite their pace, a low turnover team this year.
36:39Sixth fewest in the league.
36:42Embiid blocked by Wiggins.
36:44Embiid got it back.
36:47Underneath, Dominic Barlow scores.
36:49I love Dominic Barlow.
36:51The way he plays, he is so smart about playing off of the stars of Philadelphia.
36:57This two-way deal has been converted to a standard contract.
37:01Had a really nice season.
37:02Barlow averages eight points, five rebounds, 24 minutes a game.
37:0857 starts for Philly this year as well, Scout.
37:10Yeah, I think he's been excellent, and he really fits that role.
37:17Still a very young player, 22 years old.
37:21Time with the Spurs, time with the Hawks.
37:24Fourth season in the league, and Philly has been a positive for him.
37:29Embiid draws another defender.
37:32Low clock, Quinton Grimes has to let it fly.
37:34He hits it.
37:35And that all starts with Max's patience against the clock.
37:39He knows exactly how much two seconds in as he sprays that ball out.
37:48Hero, step back three.
37:52And it's Tyrese Max, he grabs the rebound, and will push the tempo.
37:56He's got Larson back up.
37:57Hero's in the paint recovery by Andrew Wiggins.
38:01Miami, a transition.
38:04Hero to the third.
38:08Larson from the corner.
38:11Ubre had it knocked away, but secures it.
38:14That's the Embiid factor.
38:15Hero had a layup, but he didn't want to challenge Embiid at the basket.
38:18Oh, quick fadeaway from Maxie is on the money.
38:22It is so tough.
38:24And now the run is nine straight.
38:28Looking for a run stopper.
38:30It's a corner jumper missed by Wiggins, but it's going to be tapped back to him.
38:33And he glides to the basket to score and stop Philly's run.
38:36Yeah, excellent job by Pella Larson, kicking that ball out on the back tap off the offensive board.
38:47Embiid with 12 to shoot.
38:49Back it down over Wiggins.
38:52The shot rolls home.
38:53It's amazing how he can be so physical and have such soft touch.
38:58Very Jokic-like.
39:0013 in the game for Embiid.
39:02Paul George leads Philly with 14.
39:05Renal 3, Tella Larson.
39:09Miami's letting Joel Embiid off the hook on the defensive end.
39:13They were engaging him early.
39:15Now they're settling for long shots.
39:18Meanwhile, at the other end, they engage Embiid on offense.
39:22And he goes to work inside.
39:23And Biles got two fouls.
39:25And another foul is called here.
39:27Chief Ben Taylor blows the whistle with 4-0-1 left in the second quarter.
39:33I'm going to tell you, you can't put your hands on Embiid because he'll flop.
39:38So watch how Bam just has to back up and eventually gives ground.
39:42Now he's standing with a 7-1 guy in the restricted area with a soft touch.
39:48And let's take a look at that.
39:51Physical and yet, look at that.
39:54Right on the rim.
39:57That's why Embiid is so tough to stop.
39:59You want to be physical.
40:00You want to stand your ground.
40:02You want to give him a body.
40:04He'll fall down and he'll get two free throws out of it.
40:07In that case, by the way, the foul's on Damian Mitchell.
40:10So it's no foul trouble.
40:12And that particular case for Adebayo, who has two, doesn't pick up a third.
40:18It's Mitchell's first.
40:20And Embiid on the free throw line, .14 just scored.
40:24He's 3-4-3 at the stripe tonight.
40:2785.5% of big.
40:29He shoots free throws well.
40:3083 for his career, 85 this year.
40:32Yeah.
40:33I mean, he won MVP for a reason.
40:35It's really tough to keep away from spots that he wants to get to on the floor.
40:39He just saw that soft touch.
40:42Physically, he can get to the paint and score it.
40:45And another mistake by Miami.
40:47See, the first quarter, Miami controlling tempo.
40:51This second quarter, it's like they let go of the rope.
40:55Billy has bench contributions, some grimes, and Oubre, and Bona from a scoring perspective.
41:02Paul George continued a hot streak at the beginning of the quarter.
41:06Embiid's been assertive on offense here in the middle of the quarter.
41:09Oh, no!
41:11Oh, no!
41:11Oh, no!
41:11Low block, steps to a double.
41:13Bases up, and Bona no good.
41:19Bam, on a quick drive.
41:22Looking to create space, and Bona stay down.
41:26Around the horn, show and go.
41:28Pella Larson against Edgecombe.
41:32Hero got away from Paul George.
41:34Should zig-zag stay the way to score.
41:36Well done.
41:37Revigulous skill set by Tyler Hero.
41:40Taking on three Philadelphia defenders.
41:44A dozen of the game for Hero.
41:47How many points out of Bios has as well?
41:50Lead is 5-4 Philadelphia.
41:55Edgecombe, one of the highlights of the night with an out.
41:57Goal finish in the first quarter, puts up a jumper.
42:03Good routine filling this year.
42:0420 wins, 16 losses.
42:08Away from Philly.
42:10Barlow defending.
42:12Adebayo gave it up.
42:16Hero's first drive attempt, and second.
42:18Stopped by Quentin Grimes.
42:20Really moving his feet well.
42:21Good defense here by Grimes.
42:23Late shot.
42:23Clark, he has to put it up.
42:24No go.
42:26Offensive rebound.
42:27Mitchell.
42:28Pushed up.
42:29No go.
42:29Hot catch.
42:30Falls from Pella Larson.
42:31And on the doorstep, it takes a second try for Larson to score.
42:35Now, Miami's a team playing with that energy.
42:40And here comes another timeout.
42:41Good job by Nick Nurse.
42:44Well, the all-important close to the corner.
42:47Who will close the corner?
42:48Well, we're underway here.
42:50Miami and Philly at 8-12 Eastern time.
42:52Line tip-off of Chicago and San Antonio.
42:55Scout.
42:56San Antonio has won eight in a row.
42:59Victor Wimbanyama and company, 24 of their last 26.
43:03Bear in mind, they have the tiebreaker over the Thunder,
43:06and there's just a two-game gap in the loss column for the number one seed.
43:09No, they're going for it.
43:10That's for sure.
43:10Why not?
43:11They should be.
43:12They're playing as good a basketball as anybody in the league.
43:16And Wimby, if he's playing 30, 32 minutes, and he's out there not tired, man, I don't know a better
43:24player in the league right now.
43:25I know there's a lot of talk about the MVP.
43:28To me, when I watch him play, he's my MVP.
43:32Miami and Philly, both teams shooting in the 30s percentage-wise here in the second quarter.
43:37Hella Larson, open look from deep, no good.
43:39Maxey rebounds.
43:40Had a chance to tie the game.
43:44Win it up and down first half for Miami, but they've got a chance to make up some ground here
43:47later in the first half.
43:48They get a stop with the fadeaway missed by Maxey.
43:51Watch Bam right here, breaking the floor.
43:54They've got to attack Embiid.
44:03Yeah, it's sealed the game.
44:19Great block by Embiid.
44:22No block there, but a really good challenge on that three from Jaquez.
44:26Here's a drive, a stutter step in the paint.
44:28Maxey gave it up.
44:29Paul George missed on the corner three.
44:31Maxey drive.
44:32Pass ahead.
44:34Adebayo.
44:34Capella Larson.
44:36Nice finish.
44:37Man, he just elevated from outside the paint.
44:40By trying to Euro step around Embiid, going right over the top.
44:45Eight for him.
44:46Larson averages 11 a game this year, 13 a game since the All-Star break.
44:51Now here's a quick spin move and finish with the left, Dominic Barlow.
44:56Yeah, Embiid was at the top of the key, so if somebody else was going to play that middle, Barlow
45:00made an excellent move at the basket.
45:05See if Miami can create the two for one here at the end of the quarter.
45:09They do another score.
45:11Hello, Larson.
45:12That time for Marquez.
45:13Yeah, I like the way Miami responded since the timeout.
45:18Stopping a score, and they can take the lead into the locker room at halftime.
45:24Difference is five seconds.
45:27Both teams have a foul to give here at the end of the course.
45:31Maxey surveys the scene.
45:32Drive, stops, dishes.
45:34Edgkamp, low clock, off balance, and fouled in the act of shooting.
45:39Tyler Hero wants him to challenge it.
45:41Of course, they can't.
45:42They've used to challenge unsuccessfully here in the second quarter.
45:46So watch this play.
45:48Edgkamp drives to close out, gets ahead.
45:51Yeah, that's enough body contact.
45:53You're going to get that call in this league.
45:59Spokes are saying he backed up into him, but it's no different than any star player getting
46:04to his spot and then trying to get contact.
46:07First of two, good for Vijay Edgkin.
46:10He's in double figures now.
46:11As we look ahead to the upcoming national TV schedule, big games tomorrow night on NBC Coast
46:16to Coast Tuesday.
46:16Knicks at Rockets, Trail Blazers and Clippers, that has got major impact on the Western Conference
46:23play-in tournament race.
46:25Our friends at ESPN on Wednesday have Celtics and Heat right here at Kaseya Center and Spurs
46:30and Warriors.
46:31For more on these games, go to NBA.com or visit the NBA app.
46:34Two for two, Edgkamp, hero, three, off-line to beat the buzzer.
46:40Well, good response from Miami.
46:43They lost it there for a minute, but they got back on track.
46:47Heat have led by as many as 13.
46:5076ers have led by as many as seven.
46:54Currently the advantage three for Philly at the interval here on Peacock NBA Monday.
46:5976ers 61, Heat 58.
47:02And Jordan Cornett is joined now by Paul George, who had 14 points in the first half for Philadelphia.
47:09PG, only your third game back, you seem to be in mid-season form.
47:13What's clicking for you?
47:14Just playing basketball, playing confident.
47:17I'm in good shape.
47:18My body feels great, so I just feel the confidence to go out and do things.
47:22Playoff-like atmosphere in this one with what's on the line for both teams, what's it going
47:25to take for you guys to steal one on the road in the second stanza?
47:28We just got to stay poised, stay poised.
47:30They're playing fast.
47:31Last couple games, teams have been playing with a high tempo.
47:34This team, I believe, is number one in pace.
47:36So we just got to weather that, get back, get our defense set, and continue to just play,
47:41you know, just great offensive basketball.
47:44We're moving it, guys are touching it, and because of that, we're getting good open shots.
47:48We'll get your break, man.
47:49We'll see you in the second half.
47:49Appreciate it.
47:50Thank you.
47:50Paul George, for now, we'll send it back to the boys in studio.
47:53Amit.
47:54All right, Jordan, coming up on American Express at the half, Amit Fareed, John Karate,
47:57Evan Turner.
47:58We'll talk more about Paul George and the Miami defense.
48:01What do we think?
48:02Better?
48:03I like it.
48:03Okay, a little bit better.
48:04All right.
48:05John, watch out.
48:05You've never done this before.
48:06Steve's about to walk right through it.
48:07There you go.
48:08Whoa!
48:14George, 14 points, three three-pointers.
48:17No one else in the game has more than one from beyond the three-point line.
48:22American Express, game you can trust.
48:24This is Paul George.
48:25You see, since coming back, he has been on fire, at least scoring the ball.
48:2826 on Saturday at Charlotte, 28 versus Chicago.
48:32Suspended for 25.
48:33Previously, he has come back and scored.
48:36Amit Fareed here, John Karate, and Evan Turner.
48:39How has he done this?
48:41Paul George has come back, and he has looked different than he has from the beginning,
48:44Evan.
48:44Well, he said it himself.
48:46Rest is underrated.
48:47He said his body feels so good.
48:49One thing that you don't forget when you're a talent like Paul George is how to hoop.
48:52So he's a very skilled player.
48:54Sometimes it's all about just feeling well and feeling good.
48:56As you can see, he got up for that dunk.
48:58And this is easy, like a walk in the park, man.
49:00He gets his feet set.
49:01He's got a quick release.
49:02And then when you're feeling good at any point, you can put it on the ground and get into your
49:05rhythm.
49:06Yeah, I'm really impressed with the rhythm he's been able to get into, though, Evan, because
49:10of the fact that Embiid's getting touches, Tyrese Maxey's pushing tempo with them.
49:15So he just looks very comfortable out there right now with the quality of shots Paul's
49:19getting, and he's doing it within the flow where Embiid's still doing his thing, and Tyrese
49:24able to get some shots, too.
49:25Yeah, and their big three is clicking on all cylinders, and then you have that fourth option,
49:29like Vijay Edgecombe, who's also balling as well.
49:31So I think when they're all doing their job, it makes the game way easier for everybody
49:35else.
49:36So you're not even paying attention to what just Paul's doing.
49:38He has the best, but Joel Embiid's balling, Tyrese Maxey's doing what he's doing, man.
49:43This is a good offense right now.
49:46Yeah, still just a three-point game, though, John.
49:47And this is a team that you see all the time in the heat that have struggled defensively
49:51night in and night out here lately.
49:53But offensively, they can still do a whole lot of damage.
49:55They can push pace, and they're showing why they lead the league in that area.
49:59Really getting a great bust-out dribble here.
50:01Bam takes it right off the glass.
50:03He's got the ability to initiate offense, and you see it there, finding Pella Larson on
50:08the move.
50:08Again, another great bust-out dribble.
50:11This puts the defense on their heels.
50:13He's got good vision at 6'10", looking over top of the defense, and finding shooters on
50:18the perimeter.
50:19He's moving the ball well out there, trying to keep Embiid moving, not letting him settle
50:24around the rim where he can knock down shots and block shots.
50:28And here's a great pitch ahead.
50:30Ten fast break points for Miami.
50:32They're doing the right things.
50:33They're pushing the ball ahead, really putting the Sixers on their heels.
50:37Yeah, and I like how they're trying to make Embiid play and make them pay for, you know,
50:41being out there.
50:42One thing, like you said, he's pushing the pace.
50:43You got Tyrese, Maxey, Paul, Georgia, Embiid back after being injured for a while.
50:47So you know they're going to be a little bit fatigued.
50:49And the number one thing you can do in the first half is try to wear their legs down for
50:53that second half and, you know, use it for their advantage because the Heat have, even
50:57though they've been struggling, they have been playing.
50:58And they'll pick up fouls doing that, too.
51:00Sure.
51:01Putting Embiid in that situation.
51:03Competitive first half, scoring from a lot of different players.
51:05We've got 12 from Bam Adebayo.
51:07But anything under 83 now is a disappointment, right, John?
51:10Yeah.
51:10When you've gotten 83, you were there and saw it.
51:1212, like, what's that?
51:14As far as this one?
51:15Wemby.
51:16Wemby, nope.
51:17He's got, well, he's got four now.
51:18Actually, he is.
51:19You're right.
51:20That's a great guess.
51:21That's a great guess, and you're exactly right.
51:23So that game going on right now.
51:25Coming up later on, the one seed in the West versus the one seed in the East.
51:28Perhaps the MVP once again, SGA Pistons Thunder coming up right here on Peacock.
51:34Tonight's DraftKings Sportsbook update at the half.
51:3876ers, three-and-a-half-point favorites at the half.
51:41They're currently up by three on the road in Miami.
51:45Paul George Hoopin.
51:47Vijay, Evan, you said fourth option now, Vijay Edgecombe?
51:50Yeah, I mean, that's how you know that's a stacked team.
51:52World fourth option.
51:53Stacked team?
51:54Ricky got to do the packing orders.
51:57Yeah, yeah, yeah.
51:58It only makes sense.
51:5976ers and Miami Heat.
52:01Philly, 61, Miami 58 with the third quarter about to start.
52:05Hi, everyone.
52:05Mark Folliwell, Brian Scalabrini, Jordan Cornette will join us in a moment.
52:09So Philadelphia had their big three back for Saturday's game against Charlotte.
52:13As you pointed out at the beginning of the game, it's the first time that all three had scored more
52:18than 25 in a game.
52:19And a couple of those guys are on their way to another 25-point effort, and Maxie may join in.
52:24Their stars are coming through here at the first time.
52:26And the way they're doing it, the 14 assists and only one turnover.
52:30Stars playing within a role.
52:32That is dangerous, especially the way they're moving the ball.
52:35The skill level's off the chart.
52:37But look at this.
52:38Keep on working that ball.
52:40Don't take a good shot.
52:42Take a great shot.
52:43Look at the patience here as he tried.
52:46And Paul George knocking him down.
52:48So you have the big three playing with pace.
52:50They're playing with patience.
52:52And they're not turning the ball over.
52:54Philly's offense looks great right now.
52:56Now, before the third quarter starts, let's get the Miami perspective with more.
53:00Here's Jordan Cornett.
53:02Jordan.
53:02Coming out of the halftime locker room, I had a chance to talk to associate head coach for Miami Heat,
53:07Chris Quinn.
53:07And he said, look, the messaging was, we were running with pace and playing with tempo.
53:12And we were succeeding in the first quarter.
53:13Got away from it.
53:14Started operating the half court.
53:16And when we do that, it's advantage the 76ers.
53:19We've got to look to run with every opportunity.
53:21Kind of what Scowl was talking about in that first half.
53:24Additionally, he said defensively, you've got to run guys off the three-point line, make them drivers.
53:28That needs to be the defensive focus, fellas.
53:31Will Jordan, you had a great interview with Paul George at the end of the first half.
53:35And PG pointed out, their tightening up transition defense-wise was a big component of the second quarter.
53:41So let's see how the chess match unfolds here in the second half with Philly starting out on offense.
53:47A pass of a feed to Barlow, broken up by Batch.
53:50And on a bio, drives and spins and draws a foul and will immediately head to the free-throw line
53:5623 seconds deep into the third quarter.
53:59Yeah, I don't know if they have any other option to win this game unless they push the basketball.
54:04This is off a turnover.
54:05Look at Bam.
54:06Highly skilled in the open court.
54:08Gets fouled.
54:09He'll get two out of it.
54:10What a great way to start with a stop and a transition opportunity.
54:16And a quick foul on Paul George, which is his third foul of the game.
54:21Man, I really should have asked Bolster.
54:23Like, when you go through the slumps where you're not pushing the ball,
54:27when you're scoring 11 points in the fourth quarter like they did the other night against Indiana,
54:33could you just sub a guy out and say,
54:36if you're not going to run, we're not going to win.
54:38And I can't play you if you're not running.
54:41So, it feels like they need that level of urgency,
54:44especially late in the year when these guys are all playing for something.
54:48Bound change to Tyrese Maxey, by the way.
54:50So, he's on three fouls on George.
54:52He's still on two.
54:54Maxey leads his feet.
54:56Went to Barlow, got it back.
54:58Three-pointer.
54:59Part of the way down, crawls out.
55:01Wiggins the rebound.
55:04Mitchell sets up here, early shot clock, open three.
55:07Barlow, defensive rebound.
55:09And I should know, that damn out of Bayo cut opened up Tyler Heros.
55:13That's a sacrificial cut by out of Bayo.
55:16If you keep doing that, Miami will be fine.
55:21Out of Bayo, free throws a moment ago.
55:24Making it a one-point.
