A Friday night shopping trip turned into a scene of chaos as smoke began to fill one of the UK’s largest malls. This footage captures the unfolding situation as shoppers were forced to abandon their plans and head for the exits.
The drama began around 5:20 pm when a major fire ignited at a warehouse on Meadowhall Road. While the blaze was technically on the industrial estate across the way, the thick plumes of dark smoke quickly drifted toward the Meadowhall Shopping Centre, triggering fire alarms and leading to a precautionary evacuation of parts of the site.
It was a dramatic evening for everyone involved, but thanks to the quick work of the first responders, no injuries were reported.
