05:254-0, 4-3, and why not go 5-0, 5?
05:29I mean, it's just a number of different ways to get to that point, but it's the same result.
05:37Грозелл is trying to go through his legs, lost control of the ball,
05:41winds up being another turnover.
05:43Watch this. Here's to the front of the rim.
05:45Wemby set the screen, rolled to the basket.
05:48And just slipped it early and knew they were going to get him to basketball.
05:52He's got 30 points in 18 minutes of play.
05:59Gabboseli on an island right now.
06:03Pretty good defense. Champagne got it.
06:07As if goes to Wemby, Gillian Champagne, the deep three.
06:12Gabboseli had a few practices against Wemby with the French national team.
06:16Yeah, yeah.
06:18Well, he knew what he was in for tonight, believe me.
06:33Gabboseli, great instinct, great anticipation, and a pretty good dunk.
06:38Of course, as he ran back in transition defense,
06:42Gabboseli never took his eyes off the ball.
06:44And he saw the soft pass coming, stepped up for the interception.
06:48So how deep into this quarter are the Spurs going to go without missing a shot?
06:53Six of six.
06:57Castle, there's our answer.
07:03Bulls have not been out and running.
07:05Haven't had the opportunity in and out from the deep corner for Cora.
07:10That was Wemby challenging out in the corner.
07:16Let's it fly.
07:17I can't.
07:19So dunk off the dunk on the alley-oop and knocking him down for three-point range tonight.
07:27This man's something, Coach.
07:30He's a winner.
07:31He likes winning, likes competing.
07:36Whistle on a foul.
07:39Champagne to foul at the other end.
07:42And his teammates know he's got it going.
07:44So they get it to him on time, on target.
07:47You've heard that how many times?
07:48Well, there's a perfect example of it.
07:51And the crowd kind of groans because he goes to the bench.
07:56Every opportunity that you have.
07:58You're allowed to rest, okay, Victor, but don't make it too long.
08:0133 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, couple of blocks.
08:06Spilling in on the spin.
08:10And again, just one at this end for Chicago.
08:14Vassell.
08:17Harper.
08:18Another chance.
08:19Champagne.
08:21Streaking to the hoop.
08:26Timeout taken.
08:27They've blown it open here in San Antonio, 84-59.
08:34Victor Wimbanyama being a truly unique talent, but we have seen something like this before in the NBA.
08:41Yes, if you old-timers can remember way back, it was a guy named Ralph Sampson.
08:46Seven-foot-four, went to University of Virginia.
08:49Came out of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
08:51Kind of the same skill type.
08:53Both listed at seven-feet-four.
08:56Both could play on the perimeter.
08:58Both could put it on the floor and take it to the basket.
09:01Both could block shots and rebound the basketball.
09:05Harrisonburg, Virginia, home of James Madison University.
09:08Where coach Signetti, who won the football championship this year at Indiana, used to be the coach of football there.
09:15It does truly hurt me to call him an old, old-timer.
09:19That was my generation.
09:20I didn't use two olds, I only used one old.
09:23That doesn't make them very old.
09:24Yeah, but there was emphasis there.
09:25Okay.
09:26Miller with another one.
09:27He's been good tonight for Chicago.
09:29He's got 17 in the game.
09:31Trying to work their way back.
09:36Cornette on for Wemby now.
09:38Castle blocked by Miller.
09:40The goaltend.
09:41He did.
09:43And hit the backboard first.
09:48So, Wemby, those numbers, hasn't missed a shot in the second half tonight, John.
09:54Well, fellas, he told Jared Weiss of The Athletic, look, my candidacy for most valuable player is three things, and
10:01he did not mince words.
10:02My first one would be, quote, that defense is 50% in the game, and that is undervalued so far
10:07in the MVP race.
10:08Secondly, he said, I'm the most impactful player defensively in the league.
10:12And secondly, we have rolled past the Oklahoma City Thunder in the regular season.
10:18Our result's not supposed to matter.
10:20And he said, my third argument would be that offense impact is not just points.
10:25He told The Athletic, I want to leave no doubt that by regular season's end, you know there's no one
10:31more valuable than me.
10:32What say you guys?
10:34John, first point out, he was asked that.
10:37So, it wasn't like he offered it up just to...
10:39Yeah, he wasn't campaigning for himself.
10:41He was asked the question.
10:42Harper with the bucket here at the Dillingham at the other end.
10:46But what do you make of what he said, the argument?
10:47Look, he is, from every interview I've seen of him, from what I hear about him, a very humble individual.
10:54So, it would take a question and him trying to be cooperative and answer the question the right way.
11:00Honestly.
11:01Yeah.
11:01Yeah, honestly.
11:04Those arguments hold some water, though, as well.
11:07There's no question about it because each one of those...
11:09He's one of those subject areas that he mentioned is so true.
11:13It is 50-50 defense and offense.
11:17If you're SGA, you're making similar arguments right now, or would.
11:21I wonder if that guy wouldn't ask SGA the same question.
11:24Right.
11:24Exactly.
11:27Luka, Jokic, certainly in the mix, but those are the current odds.
11:33As Miller picked up his third for the Bulls, and Josh Giddey goes to the bench.
11:39When does the voting take place, right after the regular season's over, does it get into the playoffs at all?
11:46I don't think playoffs have anything to do with it.
11:49No, you don't...
11:50You're not like the main voter there?
11:52You should have a lot of sway on that.
11:55I'm not...
11:56No, I understand.
11:57It's not often.
11:5912 of 15 in the quarter for the Spurs.
12:02It's red-hot Williams as Cornette had it, lost it.
12:08So, it's just to answer your play.
12:10It's right after the regular season, immediately after.
12:15You know what I notice?
12:17Players that they start to drive in the paint, they forget for that split second, Terry, whether or not Webby's
12:24out on the court or not.
12:25And they kind of hurry up and speed things up, wondering where is he?
12:29Or hesitate to take a look, right?
12:30Yeah, and then the shot looks like it's an awkward shot.
12:33That's because they hurried it up so much.
12:34So, we talk about him affecting every possession when he's on the court, even when he's not on the court.
12:40And Cornette, that's it.
12:41And look what Mitch Johnson has done now.
12:43He's playing both big men together because he'll face teams that do play two big men in the playoffs.
12:49I was going to ask you, how much of what you're doing right now, coming down the stretch, Sexton, nice,
12:54quick, move, and strong, draws the foul, chance for three.
12:57Are you experimenting this time of the year because of what you're going to face in the playoffs?
13:02And wouldn't this be the time to do it when you're in a game in the third, fourth quarter, up
13:0620, 25 points?
13:08And now you can change some of the rotations.
13:10You can try some different combinations.
13:13You're not trying to give away too many points because the game is not over yet.
13:17The three-point shot teams can come back quickly.
13:20I was here in this building about three or four weeks back when San Antonio was down 25 points to
13:27the Clippers
13:28and came back and won that game with an incredible second half.
13:32They try it with Cornette, doesn't work that time.
13:34Take it away.
13:36Dilling in.
13:37Back and forth to shake.
13:39Little English off the glass.
13:41Yeah, you were right.
13:42Cornette didn't look quite the same going up to Duncan.
13:45Cut him to his whack.
13:47Okay.
13:48Wemby, first big step.
13:51Oh, the strip.
13:53Sexton does finally get back up.
14:00With Wemby on him now.
14:02Holland, quick bounce, step back, got it.
14:05Shaking his head.
14:07As if, you can't guard me.
14:10And also, Mitch Johnson is not letting it go too far.
14:14He's stopping it.
14:16So, he's got 11 in the game.
14:18Quick timeout, San Antonio.
14:23Action continues here in San Antonio, but also underway in Oklahoma City.
14:26The Pistons and the Thunder.
14:28Good one there, NBCSN and Peacock.
14:31So, they have just gotten things started there.
14:35Here, 326 left in the third.
14:37And the Pistons have done a very, very good job of sustaining their spot as the number one team in
14:44the East.
14:45Without Kate Cunningham, I think they would nine and three in 12 games without him.
14:51He should be back soon.
14:53We're all hoping.
14:53Hopefully.
14:54Spurs just two and a half games behind the Thunder for that top spot in the West.
14:59Barnes with the mix.
15:00And the Bulls on an 8-0 run here.
15:03So, hence the timeout taken a few moments ago by Mitch Johnson.
15:09Harper trying to fight around the screen.
15:12Whistled for the foul.
15:15It's his third and the team's fourth.
15:18Harper's wondering, how do I get called for a foul?
15:20That big body of Yamaselli came over and sent a screen on me and I can't call for the foul?
15:33Two-man game.
15:35Yamaselli back to Jones, who's been really good tonight.
15:38And continues that with the floater.
15:42Do you remember Boris Diao that used to play here for San Antonio?
15:47Another body from France who was here playing in the NBA.
15:52So many great years.
15:54You know, we talked about when Benyama, but you have a study also on that Olympic silver medal team.
16:01So, Trey Jones got 21 in the game.
16:04Helps for this 10-0 run for the Bulls.
16:13Back to where the Bulls are with all those changes midway through the season.
16:17With the free agents, with the roster turnover, that, again, one way or another is going to come at the
16:22end of the year.
16:23The opportunity for that.
16:25You've got a number of players here playing for their opportunities and jobs.
16:32Down the stretch here, the regular season.
16:35Up top.
16:36Johnson was fouled trying to complete the alley-oop dunk.
16:39You know, Harper wasn't sure how he should play that fast break.
16:42Should he wait, throw it up in the air to the rim?
16:45Should he take a conventional fast break and try and make a pass to either bounce pass, chest pass?
16:51A little bit unsure right then on the decision.
16:54Leading it.
16:54He's looking.
16:55He knows he's got somebody on the right and left.
16:58Harrison Braun's on the right.
16:59Instead, he went left.
17:02First on Collin Sexton, the fourth team foul.
17:05Both teams shooting the rest of the way here in the third.
17:14Wendy, who's going to challenge him?
17:16Third.
17:17Remember the play a while ago where Wendy set the screen?
17:20There was a curl by Fox, and when we went to the rim, that time they ran just the opposite.
17:25And ran the curl for Wendy.
17:28Blocks this one at the other end.
17:31Three of those tonight.
17:36Coming over as the help that time defensively.
17:41Once that ball comes in bounds here, stop it right there if we can.
17:46There's Wendy coming off right to the front of the rim.
17:50Miss at the other end.
17:52Yamaselli fouled by Barnes, I believe.
17:59That's his first.
18:02And the team's fifth.
18:05Wish on Yamaselli, who missed time recently with an ankle sprain.
18:10Didn't play the other night against Memphis.
18:12Came over in that trade with the Knicks.
18:15He was playing about nine minutes a game for New York.
18:19So, get more of an opportunity here in Chicago.
18:23Which you can say about a number of these players tonight.
18:32You know, San Antonio has doubled now, the rebound totally.
18:38And you come into the game and you realize that San Antonio was number one in the NBA in defensive
18:43rebounds per game.
18:45Number two in the NBA in rebounds per game.
18:47So, that shouldn't surprise you in Chicago, going with a smaller team.
18:52Which we were told that in the beginning by head coach Billy Donovan.
18:55It all adds up.
18:57And number three in overall scoring in the NBA.
18:59And he was going to say they had a hundred here in the third.
19:03In and out.
19:09Dillingham got Harper in the air.
19:11Throws it away.
19:12Right to Fox.
19:15D'Aaron is going to leave it for Johnson.
19:18No big.
19:19Yep.
19:19There is a throng to deep corner.
19:22You know, when Dillingham did that last ball fake and put it on the floor, going to the basket.
19:27After the first dribble, he was saying to himself,
19:29Now, where am I going?
19:31This is Wemmy waiting for me at the rim.
19:33He's lurking.
19:34Loose ball foul.
19:36And they got Harper.
19:37Yep.
19:38You got Dillon.
19:39That's his fourth.
19:44How about Harper and the development of him here in his rookie season out of Rutgers?
19:50They were very, very happy when they got him.
19:54And they're even more thrilled with him now.
19:58They think his upside is really great.
20:01He's playing his role, coming in as a rookie, getting his minutes each night,
20:05knowing that he's going to be either the first or second sub off the bench right now for Mitch Johnson.
20:12And he's done an outstanding job.
20:15He understands what he's about.
20:17I think his father won a few games.
20:18No, you won a few.
20:19In the NBA, John.
20:20He has a couple rings, yeah.
20:22He sure did.
20:23And that Harper legacy, it certainly lives on.
20:27Dillon following his brother at Rutgers University.
20:30And we were talking with Mitch Johnson about the standard of how you assess a rookie on a team this
20:36good.
20:37You guys know it.
20:38Dillon Harper could get more minutes perhaps on many other NBA teams.
20:42But Mitch said, look, there's sequences where we say, okay, he's got to be better here.
20:46He's got to be better there.
20:47And then he has 20-plus points for us.
20:50Yeah, his dad, by the way, five-time NBA champ, 15 years in the league.
20:55Keldon Johnson ran out of options.
20:57He said, why not shoot it?
20:59Hey, Keldon looked at Wimbayama and said, like, I was trying to throw a lob, but it went in.
21:06When we saw the laughing.
21:09Basket got in the way that time.
21:13So the lead is 22.
21:19Sexton, three on the shot clock, out of step, used his body well, didn't he?
21:24And that first step, the speed and quickness of the first step to go by Wimbay.
21:29Barnes blocks Williams.
21:32The heat.
21:34Point three.
21:36Got to go up top.
21:39The frustration for Wimbay.
21:42One of the few times tonight.
21:47It's a point three until the end of the quarter.
21:52And that will do it.
21:55As we head to the fourth.
21:58So the Spurs, who dominated that second quarter, continued here.
22:02Brief run for the Bulls and trying to hang in.
22:05But Wimbayama's had a huge night.
22:0735 points, 12 rebounds, three assists in those three blocks as well.
22:12You're watching Peacock, NBA Monday, presented by Xfinity.
22:19Back to remind you of one of the biggest film events of the year.
22:22We'll hit theaters next month as Mario and his friends travel across entire galaxies to stop Bowser Jr.
22:29It's the Super Mario Galaxy movie only in theaters Wednesday.
22:33So the numbers on Wimbay, 35 points, 12 rebounds, those three blocked shots, and three assists as well.
22:44So it starts the fourth quarter.
22:47Castle gets the three.
22:48How much of Wimbay do we see in the fourth?
22:51That's a good question because nowadays with the pace of the game and the three-point shot,
22:57teams are more likely to come back from larger deficits than ever before.
23:02You see, I was suddenly knocked down the three.
23:04Finally, I had a game where he couldn't miss from the three-point line.
23:08But going back to the talk about the Spurs, you can't assume a 20-point lead is going to last
23:14for a whole quarter.
23:15So you have him in there until you get to a point where either he's had enough minutes
23:20and you want to get him some rest or the possibility of losing a game.
23:25Darren Fox on the quick spin and the bucket.
23:29He's got six.
23:29He's been quiet tonight.
23:31Three of eight from the floor.
23:32They really haven't needed him.
23:36Buzellas got it.
23:37Rattles at home.
23:39I remember a couple years ago they had such high hopes on Buzellas
23:43that he was going to be a special kind of player.
23:46I'm not sure if he's reached the level they felt he was going to reach.
23:51Gets called for the foul here.
23:53He's had big games, but it's not night in, night out.
23:56Tonight he's one of five from three-point range, two of eight from the floor.
24:00He's got five points.
24:04Averaging about 16 points per game.
24:08But you go back a couple of nights ago against Memphis.
24:11He had 29 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists.
24:19There's got to be something about him because he's got on green sneakers also.
24:23Buzellas.
24:23He saw Wembe.
24:24Wembe, yeah.
24:28You do see a number of different types of sneakers these days in the NBA in colors as well.
24:33Good, strong move by Modis that time.
24:35We'll go to the free throw line.
24:37Chance for three.
24:40Here he is driving.
24:41Can he split the two white jerseys?
24:43Takes the contact off the glass and a chance for the three-point play.
24:48Pick your defender to call the foul on.
24:50They called it on Stephon Castle.
25:01For the second-year man gets the free throw and the old-fashioned three.
25:06Number 11 pick overall in 2024, Buzellas.
25:14Backdoor looked right through the hands of Fox.
25:16Yeah, no Coral got caught on that screen.
25:18They ran that high cut off the screen and no help from the screeners, man.
25:23Back to Buzellas for a moment.
25:25At least he's 21 years old.
25:26That's it.
25:27And Gideon is 23.
25:29I mean, you would imagine those two are the two young players that the Bulls do build around.
25:34Looking ahead to next year.
25:36Yeah, and they have their own first-round pick.
25:37So, yeah, free agency.
25:39They have money.
25:40Certainly can add some valuable pieces to this team.
25:46Coral picked up the foul.
25:47That's his fifth.
25:51So, it'll be Kelvin Johnson going to the free throw line.
25:54I think there's something to a player's growth.
25:57When he knows night in and night out, he's going to be in the starting lineup.
26:01As opposed to start him one night, sit him, bring him off the bench two or three games, then start
26:05him.
26:06They've tried to give him confidence.
26:09And this man knows he's coming off the bench every game.
26:13And he is absolutely fine with that and gives him everything.
26:17Which not every player would.
26:20He's a special guy.
26:21He understands that they turn to him to lead these young players and that the coaches have a lot of
26:27belief in him.
26:28And he's had a sensational year.
26:31He's tipped up, Wimby.
26:33Wouldn't let it go.
26:34Second time, got it.
26:36I'm not sure a coach can even say to the player,
26:39Will you put your body on him?
26:41Would you please block him out?
26:42Block him out, please.
26:4437 tonight for Victor.
26:46Almost got a piece of that.
26:48He may have got a little piece.
26:49He may have.
26:50He may get one point on that.
26:54Box can't complete the bucket, but the foul on Sexton.
27:03Look on the inside right here.
27:05The block out.
27:06He just goes over the top with his left hand, keeps it alive, then puts it back in.
27:12And you yell at the bench, what do you want me to do?
27:17Aaron gets the roll on the free throw, the ninth-year man on a Kentucky and a two-time All
27:22-Star.
27:23Remember the coaches, they always say, he's over his back.
27:26Yeah, he's over his back, but he didn't touch him on his back.
27:30He's over his back.
27:32This on the second, here come the Bulls.
27:41Miller, we had a big first half.
27:45Giddy not even looking at the hoop, going to swing it.
27:47Giselle is short.
27:49Wimby clears.
27:52Wimby with 15 rebounds right now.
27:56Inside-out-the-go.
27:59Big man going to work.
28:03So is Johnson.
28:05Using his body.
28:08Never sell a, pleading his case, going to pick up the foul.
28:20Johnson to the line, 4-2.
28:32Gets the first.
28:33Check out the upcoming national TV schedule, NBC and Peacock, tomorrow night.
28:37There's your lineup.
28:38Nixon, the Rockets, Portland, and the Clippers.
28:41You mentioned that.
28:41A big one.
28:42ESPN Wednesday.
28:43Boston, Miami.
28:44These Spurs taking on Golden State.
28:46You can go to NBA.com or visit the NBA app.
28:50We saw Johnson, one example of him, using his body, the physicality on that play.
28:57Yeah, well, remember, Mitch Johnson made a statement to us about something about their physicality.
29:03He said, I want to pick your brain on this.
29:04As Bouselis goes around the screen here, he said, our physicality is in our pace.
29:11What did he mean by that?
29:14Almost every team that plays against him, as we see the jumper missed by Miller there, almost every team that
29:20plays against him tries to be very physical with this Spurs team.
29:24They feel that's one of the ways that you can beat them, is to get the youngsters rattled, be physical
29:30with them.
29:30Perhaps they'll get involved and come back at you and foul defensively because they're frustrated.
29:36And they can't be as physical in retaliation.
29:40So, for them, it's their pace.
29:43Hurry up, get down the floor before the defense can get back.
29:46Stick their bodies into you, hit you with elbows, hit you with forearms, put their big butts into you.
29:52That's their version of it.
29:54By hurrying down the floor, their pace will dictate how physical they are or not.
29:59But, yeah, Vasselli picked up his third, fifth team foul.
30:05Castle, by the way, with eight assists in this game as Trey Jones comes back on the floor.
30:10Does that change the opportunity to do that?
30:14Does that change in the playoffs?
30:17No, I don't think it does because, like he said, that's not us.
30:22Because we can't try to retaliate to those teams that are trying to beat us up because that's not who
30:28we are.
30:29We have to play our game the way it's best for us to play and win.
30:34Sexton quickly in the foul.
30:36Miller on the tip.
30:38Good hustle.
30:42Guys, the other thing that stood out about our pregame conversation with Mitch Johnson was how he said he's judging
30:48his team at this stage of the year.
30:50We talked with him about the race with the Thunder for the top spot in the West.
30:54He said, well, look, you can't overfocus because all they seem to do is win and we don't play them
30:59again.
31:00But he said, when you don't have historical evidence of past playoff runs, all we've got to do is look
31:06at the mirror at us.
31:06And we've got to keep raising our standards.
31:10Pass over finish.
31:11Going to keep it on this possession.
31:13Here comes Harper off his leg back to the Bulls.
31:18Yeah, he said, you keep looking up at the standings and then OKC just doesn't lose.
31:22But when they played him, they beat him.
31:26And more than one time, four of five and on the tiebreaker, step away.
31:33Brought to you by Chime, Spurs teammates looking for this man every possession, it seems.
31:39Well, sometimes you have a favorite target.
31:41I don't blame Castle for looking for when because he converts a whole lot of passes, but they have a
31:47special connection.
31:48Obviously, big man looking for the ball, and Castle knows exactly where and when to get it to him.
31:55Castle with eight assists on the night.
31:57There you see the numbers in Wemby.
32:0037-15, four assists, three blocks.
32:03Still on the floor right now, approaching the seven and a half minute mark.
32:07And look at San Antonio coming out of the timeout, picking up three-quarter court, almost full court defense pressuring.
32:14Something else the coach might want to work on.
32:16Miller, as they switch, Wemby on him now.
32:20Gives it up.
32:21Oh, good look.
32:22Good cut as well for Jones.
32:24Smart cut by Jones.
32:26Wemby was out of there.
32:27He was guarding the basketball.
32:29A little back cut by Jones.
32:31Ray Jones with 23 in the game on 9 of 13 shooting tonight.
32:38Devin Vassell.
32:42Isolated one-on-one.
32:43Miller's trying to stay with Wemby.
32:45That big step, one bounce, and somehow he's at the rim.
32:49And he's at the rim.
32:50You're exactly right.
32:51He stretches that long arm out.
32:5539 in the game for Victor.
32:59Another big step after he picked it up.
33:01Watch Wemby at the other end of the floor.
33:04So look, if he can do it, let me try it.
33:07Watch the greats imitate the greats.
33:15Wemby waiting for something to develop, and this is what has.
33:19Similar to the last possession.
33:22He goes left, he's got two bodies.
33:24Oh, and the dunk with the left hand.
33:28Flint right last time, his time left.
33:30He's got 41.
33:32Okay, you want to bring a second guy over, and then I'll dunk it on the third guy.
33:39Quick swing.
33:42Okoro.
33:43Miller says, uh-uh.
33:46Maybe from here, though, there's a better option.
33:53Wemby one-handed out to Castle.
33:56Change of direction.
33:57On the crossover, he was fouled.
34:00Trey Jones is going to pick up the foul.
34:02Oh, man, how about this?
34:04Step through, and the next defender comes over.
34:07So let me just throw it down with the left hand.
34:10Split, Sue, and counters the third.
34:12It got hit on the arm by Okoro.
34:17Okoro kind of came over.
34:19You start that challenge, and then you go, eh, eh.
34:22Can I really block his shot?
34:24Yeah, never mind.
34:24Never mind.
34:29You have a cell.
34:30He comes back in for Miller.
34:35I mean, it was the same.
34:38And Doolittle coach in here, Billy Donovan, with Miller.
34:44He's talking about the offensive end, but on that defensive end, he was isolated one-on-one with Wemby.
34:49Wemby took him right off the jab step, rocker step.
34:52And then the next time down, goes the other way and finishes with the left hand.
34:56I mean, that's a defensive player.
34:57You've got to feel helpless.
34:58Well, how about the fact that there were two dark jerseys here?
35:01He split both of them.
35:02Yeah.
35:08Wemby just picked up his second.
35:15So, teammate on the French national team goes to the free throw line.
35:27He gets the first.
35:29We remind you, Sunday night baseball is on Peacock.
35:32This week, you've got the Cardinals heading to Detroit.
35:36Take on the Tigers.
35:37Interleague clash in the Motor City on Sunday night baseball.
35:42Live on Peacock.
35:44Opening day was great.
35:45That scene at Dodger Stadium, pretty cool.
35:47Time out in the action here in San Antonio.
35:50Back in a moment.
35:52Behind the top seed, the Thunder in the West.
35:55Two leaders of their respective conferences.
36:00And Detroit, obviously, has led the way in the East throughout the year.
36:06But Boston with a challenge now.
36:07Take them back and playing great.
36:09And Boston's legitimate threat to come out of the East.
36:15Let's look at those standings here.
36:16And after that, the Lakers with the Nuggets, just a game behind, by the way.
36:21For that third spot.
36:22The Lakers have been pretty impressive over the last 10 weeks.
36:28He's zealous lost it.
36:29It was kicked.
36:30Yeah.
36:31And Bezelis, don't try that dribble move again.
36:33Because it's not working.
36:35You can't dribble it off your own ankle.
36:49No.
36:49You have a sell from deep.
36:51No.
36:52Bezelis clears.
36:53Gives it up to Harper.
37:00Субтитры делал DimaTorzok
37:26and getting a rest right now.
37:28This is the whistle.
37:30You have a Sally Cornett just fell
37:32to the deck in the fourth foul
37:33on Gershon, but this was in
37:35pregame.
37:36You got to remember, he was with
37:38the Spurs, so in some ways
37:39coming back home.
37:41Yeah, I think these are his only
37:43two teams, San Antonio and then
37:45traded to Chicago, so he's got a
37:47lot of friends here.
37:48He's been waving, talking to the
37:50trainer from San Antonio and
37:54he enjoys being back, seeing
37:56some of the people that he's
37:57known and really appreciated.
37:59Maybe a little extra, trying to
38:01put some numbers up as he come
38:03back in that trade in February of
38:05last year.
38:06And you asked me earlier, when do
38:09I think it's enough for Wendy?
38:11I think it's enough right now for
38:13Wendy.
38:13He's out and you're not going to
38:14bring him back.
38:15Yeah, under five minutes to go
38:17right now.
38:23Cornett makes it 122 to 103, but
38:2741 points, 16 rebounds, four
38:30assists and three blocks for
38:32Wimbledon Yama tonight.
38:40Miller still learning in some ways,
38:42especially Billy Donovan's way.
38:45Good.
38:45Bucket and the foul.
38:46Yavaselli will go to the free
38:47throw line.
38:51Yavaselli not fearing the Wendby
38:53factor right now.
38:54So Cornett in there, who can't
38:56block shots, by the way.
38:57But Yavaselli takes it all the way
39:00to the rack.
39:01Cornett's first, team's third
39:03here in the fourth.
39:19Harper.
39:23Cornett came to screen and then
39:24faded.
39:26Harper gets his own miss back,
39:27loses it out of bounds, and back
39:29to the Bulls.
39:31I think Harper's a little
39:32frustrated with himself.
39:34Tonight, he's missed a couple
39:35of shots with each, which he
39:37knows he normally makes.
39:41Carter Bryant back on the floor
39:43for the Spurs.
39:44So you've got seven games left
39:46after tonight, in the regular
39:48season for each team.
39:50He did he with the miss, tipped
39:51up Miller to follow.
39:52Bucket and good.
39:53And that was Giddy that wound up
39:55tipping the miss shot to Miller
39:57for the bucket.
40:00Miller's got 21 in the game here
40:02on the road.
40:05Manu averages 24 points a game,
40:0811 rebounds a game.
40:09Look at the numbers tonight.
40:10And that club, those before
40:13turning 23, was 40, 15, and three
40:18blocks.
40:20That's not bad, is it?
40:21Those two that he joined pretty
40:22good.
40:23Bob McAdoo could play.
40:25He could score back in the day,
40:26huh?
40:26Only 23, not even 23 years old.
40:30No.
40:3122 years of age in his third
40:33year.
40:34Just getting started.
40:39The sell off that curl, kicks it.
40:42Johnson.
40:44Cornette had it, lost it.
40:46Here come the Bulls.
40:49So the Bulls would go back home,
40:51take on Indiana on Wednesday.
40:53High off the glass and in,
40:54Collin Sexton.
40:55Well, Collin Sexton, no matter
40:57where he's been, is always, if
41:00you look at his stat line, he's
41:02always around 48% field goal
41:04percentage, 48 to 50.
41:06He's always 38%, 37%, three-point
41:11field goal percentage, and he's
41:13always above 80% from the foul
41:15line, no matter which stop along
41:18the way.
41:18He's just consistent that way,
41:20and he's a gym rat.
41:22He's in the gym all the time,
41:23always taking extra shots after
41:25practice is over.
41:28Solid player, just a little
41:29undersized for a scoring guard.
41:32Billy Donovan said he just, he
41:33loves to compete.
41:35Proven NBA scorer, but yeah, six
41:39threes listed out.
41:40The seventh-year man out of
41:42Alabama.
41:54Stephon Castle with 21 in the
41:56game.
41:58Killing in.
41:59Creates in the lane.
42:01Nice little jumper.
42:02He's quick off the dribble,
42:04isn't he?
42:04He gets where he wants to get to
42:05on the floor.
42:06Comes at you full speed, tough to
42:08keep him in front of you.
42:09Got that bounce as well to finish.
42:12A little pressure from Sexton now.
42:14So it's 124-111 with under three
42:17points, or three minutes to go here.
42:24Cornette, the album at that time.
42:27You can tell what they do when they
42:28drive.
42:29They look for that, that man at the
42:31rim.
42:33Quickly to the other end.
42:34In and out for Williams.
42:37Say this about Billy Donovan's club.
42:39They have not gone away tonight.
42:40No, Billy Donovan's clubs are always
42:43going to play hard.
42:44They're going to compete until the
42:46end of the game.
42:47And this has been a big adjustment
42:49losing, what, you said seven players
42:51after the trade deadline.
42:53Lachlan, all breaking.
42:54He's in on the floor now for the
42:56Bulls, Dillian.
42:57I mean, if that goes down, look at the
43:00score.
43:01It's a ten-point game.
43:03I know.
43:06You tested my math.
43:08I told you I was good in school of
43:09math.
43:10The only thing.
43:11Just make it a point, that's all.
43:13Under two minutes to go in this one
43:15over here.
43:16Cornette.
43:17Nice little roll off the assist.
43:23So the lead back up, too.
43:26No, I'm not going to test you right
43:27now.
43:27Thank you.
43:28Ulbrich will go to the free-throw
43:30line as Cornette's going to pick up
43:32the foul.
43:32Fifteen.
43:34Thanks.
43:34Very nice.
43:38And Ulbrich, who has played each of
43:43the last three games.
43:45Off the bench for Billy Donovan.
43:50With the miss, 41% from the line.
43:53Everyone's favorite night of drama
43:55is back.
43:56New seasons of Chicago Med, Fire, and
43:58PD.
43:59Don't miss New Chicago Wednesday,
44:01this Wednesday, on NBC and Peacock.
44:07So we stay at 111 after the misses.
44:16Through the legs.
44:18Few ooze and odds from the crowd.
44:22Bissell working hard.
44:24So it's the Bulls defense.
44:25Trying to create that turnover.
44:26Tipped out of bounds.
44:28Going to stay at the San Antonio end,
44:30but 4.4 left on the shot clock.
44:36Long range three.
44:38Castle had to go.
44:39And look at this hustle for the
44:41offensive rebound Johnson.
44:45Right to the end of this one.
44:54He's an excellent shooter.
44:57You get him where he's set.
44:59Get him the ball where he can step
45:00into it with rhythm.
45:01He's very good.
45:04Penetration swing.
45:05Williams left all by himself.
45:08Off the heel.
45:10Cornette was under a minute to go.
45:11So it's competitive in that first quarter.
45:14Second and third quarters belonging
45:16to the Spurs.
45:17And the Bulls have hung in there
45:18here in the fourth.
45:20But it's going to be a W for the home team.
45:22And one of the reasons that game
45:24turned around so quickly.
45:25We saw him really take control there.
45:28And once he got going,
45:30there was nothing Chicago could do.
45:35And walk out this possession.
45:37There's the man with 41 points
45:40and those 16 rebounds,
45:42four assists,
45:43and three blocks as well.
45:47So the Bulls are going to fall
45:48to 29 and 46 on the year.
45:53Sexton is going to get his at the end.
45:55Yeah, Colin Sexton said,
45:56look, you guys don't want to shoot.
45:57I'm going to shoot the ball.
45:58We're losing the game.
46:00Don't worry about it.
46:01Colin did the right thing.
46:03San Antonio going to move to 57
46:06and 18 on the season.
46:11Heading back to the playoffs
46:12and then some.
46:15As right now,
46:16at least the number two seed
46:17in the West.
46:20Now two games with the win
46:22behind OKC.
46:24We'll see what happens
46:25with the Thunder and the Pistons
46:27tonight in Oklahoma City.
46:39Spurs this brief one-game hop
46:43here at home
46:44before a three-game road trip.
46:46Go to Golden State,
46:48at the Clippers,
46:49and at Denver
46:50the next three.
46:52I wind up seeing
46:53San Antonio
46:55one more time
46:55on Thursday night
46:56in Los Angeles
46:57doing the Clipper game.
46:58Well,
46:59you could talk all about
47:00tonight and what Wemby did
47:01because he did a lot of it.
47:03Might take that whole game
47:04to talk about it
47:06with the numbers he produced
47:07tonight.
47:08Yeah,
47:08there's Trey.
47:09He's going to exchange jerseys.
47:17He had a big tight night
47:19tonight,
47:20coming back home
47:21to San Antonio
47:2223 in the game.
47:26as we send it over to John.
47:29Victor,
47:30last week you said
47:31in this final stretch
47:32of the regular season
47:34you want to leave
47:35no doubt
47:36in the most valuable
47:37player race.
47:38How much is that
47:39your mindset right now?
47:42Totally.
47:43It is my mindset.
47:44I think today
47:45wasn't perfect.
47:46I mean,
47:46I think we should have
47:47won the game
47:48more than that
47:49as a team
47:50and personally
47:51I wish I was better
47:52but it's still satisfying.
47:54This team has won
47:55nine in a row
47:56and 25
47:57of their last 27 games.
48:00What is the most fun part
48:01about this ride
48:02with this group?
48:04About what?
48:05This ride?
48:05What's the most fun part
48:07about this ride
48:07with this group?
48:08Oh,
48:08the most fun part
48:09is that
48:10we got a healthy
48:11locker room
48:12and
48:14like it's just a whole
48:15we're just happy
48:15as a whole
48:16because
48:17we get together
48:18well on and off the court
48:19and we're just
48:20loving the experience.
48:21What's possible
48:22for the San Antonio Spurs?
48:24Anything's possible.
48:25Victor Wamiyama,
48:26good night.
48:27Thank you.
48:29All right,
48:30John,
48:30thanks.
48:31Anything is possible.
48:32That's a difficult interview.
48:33You know what I like?
48:34He used the word
48:35it's a healthy
48:36locker room.
48:38I'm impressed
48:39with that
48:39meaning
48:39they communicate
48:42mentally
48:42on the same page
48:43they believe
48:44in the same thing.
48:45The height disparity
48:46was tough.
48:46That's what I was referencing
48:47by the way.
48:48129 to 114
48:50the final here
48:51the Spurs.
48:53So,
48:53been watching Peacock
48:54NBA Monday
48:55presented by Xfinity
48:57Pistons and Thunder
48:58on Peacock right now
48:59we switch over to that
49:00to Mike Pitello
49:01John Fanta
49:02and the crew
49:02I'm Terry Gannon
