[Wiki]

00:02Dear children, at this moment the new centrosi, after a Milanese, I wish you, I wish you at the beginning,
00:14with the doors that are destined, there is power, this power is alone,
00:21my taste, the intention, even if I have its profusion, I could do,
00:26but it's not a mark yet, but it's not a mark yet.
00:30I have a mark.
00:47you made me do it, he wrote this if a gui before starting the massacre but who told him?
00:54has
00:54made to do it to whom it refers and what is the real motive of the tragedy or charlatans the boys
01:01rich depravity an isolated boy a mocked boy a misunderstood boy for
01:08many I was a handsome serious athletic boy with short hair in short a young man apparently
01:15normal I was one like many when madness manages to hide behind normality I hid inside
01:23of me almost uncontrollable demons but why has no one realized it depressed maladjusted
01:30I took large amounts of drugs because no one could understand I wrote many stories and texts
01:37theatrical a teacher who read them said that they were so disturbing that it suggested the appeal
01:43to a psychiatrist but a psychiatrist has ever analyzed his case I planned the massacre for at least
01:50a month but why didn't anyone understand anything I bought my first revolver on March 13th
01:57and once again no one was able to predict the drama that was unfolding
02:06because how could this happen? These are the questions that echo in every parent's mind.
02:13American and that also arrive in Europe and in Italy well waiting for the investigators
02:20psychiatrists and educators provide us with the elements as far as possible to understand and that the
02:27politicians know how to find the way to heal these wounds in society that we want
02:36give our contribution by entering directly into the Colombine campus where only eight years ago a
02:44tragedy a similar tragedy with similar modalities befell innocent victims but first
02:53We want to try to enter the devastated minds of those two boys who killed their friends that day
03:01classmates and teachers
03:35little town a small town not far from denver colorado this is where eric's murderous fantasies
03:4217 years are starting to take shape
03:47together with a friend nicknamed vodka or simply v he intends to commit
03:53an act of such violence that it earned a place in history
03:57in April next year you and I will take our revenge and scale the
04:03natural selection ranking will be enough to learn how to make time bombs in
04:09We will place hundreds of them on roads, bridges, buildings, gas stations, anywhere they can be found.
04:18creating chaos will be like the los angeles riots or the oklahoma city bombing world war two
04:25world vietnam all mixed together I want to leave a lasting mark on this
04:34world one year later on April 20, 1999 eric harris and dylan klebold another high school student
04:44doves kill a teacher and 12 students and injure 23 others at which point they turn their
04:51weapons against themselves this is the story of that day the story of what happened that day
05:01terrible Tuesday morning between 11:08 and 12:08 12 students one teacher killed 23 injured
05:10an entire community struck to the heart terrified a brutal massacre without apparent explanations yesterday as
05:20today and a thousand questions that we will try to answer with reconstructions based on documents
05:28unpublished and previously unpublished testimonies of the protagonists and with a detailed analysis of what happened
05:35minute by minute starting from 11.08 on that Tuesday 20th April it is 11.08 on
05:47morning eric harris and three minutes from the entrance of colombine high school the mbk arrived early now
05:55everything I see and hear is somehow connected to MBK it's like a movie from the laurel
06:02mbk is the code for the massacre that eric and dylan are about to commit stands for natural born
06:08Natural born killers, a film by Oliver Stone that the two boys love very much, is the story of Mickey
06:15and mallory two mass murderers with a disturbed childhood that the mass media transforms into
06:20celebrity for eric dylan the film is like an idea of redemption as well as the protagonists
06:26of the film are superior beings I'm sure we will have followers because me and eric are
06:34we are not simple human beings we have a body like the others but we have evolved more than you
06:41disgusting shitty humans and we are aware of it but why do eric and dylan feel this sense of
06:49alienation the answer is perhaps to be found in that very school you have always excluded me from yours
06:55funniest things I hate you all and don't come and tell me it's your fault it's not true you all had the
07:04my
07:04number and no fucking one of you ever deigned to call me no fuck you
07:12in the silent hierarchy of Columbine High School, Eric and Dylan are seen in last place, two typical
07:18Introverted teenagers who always hang out with school dropouts are the most searched for kids
07:23Those who shine in sports are a group of their own with their own rules and their own code.
07:28of grip starting from the white baseball caps are a kind of caste but not
07:36exclusively composed of athletes, only those who dress in a certain way are part of it, those who can boast the
07:42best girls in school even the teachers treat them differently as if they deserve more
07:48be careful of others when taking up arms Eric and Dylan will not point them immediately
07:53against this elite many testimonies indicate that their thirst for revenge is directed against the whole
07:58school they chose to go to Columbine to kill they didn't go to a library or a
08:05police station they went there because they hated that school they hated the injustice of that
08:11school the environment let's be clear I don't want to justify what they did I'm just trying to find
08:16you made us go through years of shit and now you have to pay for your disgusting answers
08:23injustices and you won't even be able to do anything about it because we will die with you 11.09am the canteen
08:34Columbine High School begins to fill up with students for lunch break at a time
08:41unspecified morning Eric and Dylan managed to place two propane orders from
08:46Weighing approximately 7 kg each, both are scheduled to explode at 11:17 am, just at the time of
08:55maximum student turnout the plan is to kill as many people as possible
09:03with the explosion and finishing off the survivors with gunshots perhaps due to the change
09:12of the box the internal cameras do not record the moment in which the two place the orders we were
09:20In the third hour, an hour of philosophy, I remind you that we do a class assignment on Chinese philosophy.
09:25Eric was usually very keen on these tests so I was very surprised not to see him that
09:31day when the bell rang we started the fourth hour I noticed that eric was not there yet and that not even
09:41Dylan was in class it was really strange a strange thing the absence of Eric and Dylan from the lessons appears only
09:52as a strange thing no one can even imagine what the two have in mind at school there are
10:00gone and they have already placed two bombs in the canteen it is 11.10 the timer is set after only
10:09seven
10:09minutes John Savage friend of the two just finished the music lesson
10:2111:10 am another colomba student in john savage 17 years old has just finished the hour
10:28Of
10:28music hello that day I arrived at school early and started finishing my homework it was one of those days in
10:36where you don't expect anything to happen we had just finished music class we were studying the instruments
10:42I was undecided whether to go and practice a bit in the school music room or whether to go
10:47in the library
10:53among the teachers on duty that day there is also dave sanders who teaches physical education and is
10:59very popular among students because he can bring out the best even among the less gifted in sports
11:07Patty Nilson is a 35 year old teacher who works part time.
11:19normally after her art lesson nilson comes home on 20th April 99 but it is
11:24shift
11:24to monitor the corridors that fill up for the break in the area around the canteen it is 11.11
11:48after the creative writing lesson I usually go for a cigarette, it's something that
11:55I take a walk and a cigarette every day at a certain point I noticed that Eric was approaching
12:04I'm going to have a big vision
12:36He had been missing for the first two hours, so I decided to go talk to him to find out what had happened.
12:41I called him, teasing him a little.
12:43He did know how to laugh at me and he made fun of me a little in return.
12:47In retrospect, I guess I was very lucky.
12:50I almost insulted him and yet he didn't shoot me.
12:53The friendship between Eric pictured here and Brooks is quite a stormy one.
12:58A year earlier, Brooks had found his name on Eric's website next to a death threat.
13:04And everything exploded.
13:05The website said Eric was building bombs and detonators and that he wanted to kill Brooks Brown.
13:13Do you know how it works?
13:14Brooks' parents report Eric's threats to the police.
13:17This is not the first time Eric's name has been reported to the police.
13:22Unfortunately, the officers are unable to access the boy's website.
13:26Furthermore, the complaint is lost.
13:29Of a thousand hectares more or less.
13:30If they had taken that complaint seriously, Eric would have been arrested and the Columbine massacre would never have happened.
13:38Meanwhile, Brooks Brown has made peace with Eric.
13:41Maybe this will be what will save his life.
13:44But what happened to you?
13:47You weren't there for third period, you missed the class test.
13:50It doesn't matter anymore.
13:51He was staring at me, I told him you're an idiot, you skipped the test.
13:54He replied that he was no longer interested and added Brooks, I like you, get out of here
14:00sooner rather than later.
14:00Go home.
14:07There have been various theories as to why Eric didn't kill me.
14:10I personally got the idea that he didn't want to kill me.
14:15John Savage decides to go to the library to review.
14:19It is precisely in that courtroom that the greatest number of deaths will occur.
14:22It's a premeditated massacre.
14:24Eric and Dylan have been clearly developing their plan for at least a year.
14:29And now it's time to take action.
14:33It's 11:12.
14:3711am and 12pm.
14:49Eric and Dylan arrive at school with a veritable arsenal.
14:54After the massacre, the police will count two rifles, two 9mm pistols and 99 bombs,
15:01including propane tanks placed in the mess hall and booby traps in each of their cars.
15:07It took Eric and Dylan a year to put all these weapons together.
15:11Their goal, to wipe their school off the face of the earth.
15:20Thanks to an unpublished video, shot a month before the attack,
15:23one can understand what Eric and Dylan's plan really was.
15:27It's very light.
15:29This reconstruction is based on the images in that video.
15:33Dylan is the one shooting.
15:35The camera pans into Eric's room.
15:38Eric talks about a dozen hideouts where their arsenal is located.
15:43They're all packed up in here.
15:45But how did two boys manage to put together such a large number of lethal weapons?
15:54This question still remains unanswered.
15:58Eric's parents have never made any public statements since the massacre.
16:03but the end of that video reveals how aware Eric was of his ability to pretend.
16:08Nothing's happening here.
16:10Nothing?
16:14It's going to be the most exciting 15 minutes of my life.
16:18After we plant the bombs we'll wait.
16:22The seconds will seem like hours.
16:27Say, I can't wait.
16:2911:15 am.
16:35In the school parking lot, in a remote corner,
16:38Neil Gardner is having lunch with Andy Martin,
16:41Columbine High School security guard.
16:44Gardner is a police officer whose job is to protect the students and teachers at the school.
16:50He often happened to see Dylan Klebold.
16:53On the contrary, he does not know Eric Harris.
16:56He knows that both he and Dylan have had problems with the police in the past.
17:08January 30, 1998.
17:10The two boys steal some electrical equipment from a van
17:14and are arrested on charges of burglary and embezzlement.
17:19At the trial, the boys were sentenced to attend remedial courses for at-risk youth.
17:26Having completed his course, Eric gives the impression of being remorseful.
17:31I can say with satisfaction that with the help of the class and other institutions
17:37I now want to try to control my anger and violent reactions.
17:43But Eric's diary tells another story.
17:46But wasn't America the land of the free?
17:50And what kind of freedom is it if I can't even rob some idiot of his possessions?
17:55which he left in plain sight in his fucking van,
17:58in a fucking no man's land,
18:01on a shitty Friday night?
18:03It's natural selection.
18:05That idiot deserves to die.
18:08When the two boys come into contact with the law,
18:10the existence of a parallel world emerges.
18:12On the outside, Eric and Dylan appear redeemed and repentant.
18:16Inside, however, they are united by a repressed anger.
18:20My anger after the accident in January will be...
18:24endless.
18:26And then the revenge against the Commons.
18:2911am and 4pm.
18:31The Commons is the diner at Columbine High School.
18:34Eric and Dylan planned the attack down to the last detail.
18:37The bombs will explode within a minute.
18:41Inside there are 480 students,
18:44about a quarter of the entire school class.
18:49Richard Castaldo is on his way to meet his friend Rachel Scott.
18:54They decided to have something to eat together near the west entrance of the school.
18:59With their usual trench coats on,
19:01Eric and Dylan don't attract much attention.
19:05In a few seconds, the attack on the school will begin.
19:08Hi, how are you?
19:10When I sat down to eat something,
19:13you see two boys coming forward on my left.
19:17And at that point they pulled...
19:20At the time I didn't know what it was,
19:22then I learned it was a pipe bomb.
19:25They threw it, but it didn't explode.
19:27I thought...
19:28It must be one of those usual stupid pranks that are played...
19:32at the end of school.
19:35Because school was just about to end.
19:38But Richard is wrong, this is no joke.
19:41Those two mean business.
19:43And the first victim of the massacre was precisely that girl sitting next to him.
20:02First he hit Rachel, but then within half a second
20:06I remember looking out of the corner of my eye and...
20:10and I curled up at that point.
20:19The first time I heard gunshots
20:21I didn't realize what it was about.
20:24It was hard to admit to myself that they were gunshots.
20:27until I heard heavy gunfire
20:30and then an explosion.
20:32At that point I started running.
20:36The first thing I thought of was to call my father.
20:40Brooks called me.
20:41He told me, Dad, there's a shooting going on at school.
20:45and I immediately thought of Eric.
20:4911am and 5pm.
20:56I saw them throw a couple of grenades on the roof
20:59which immediately exploded.
21:01Then they started shooting with rifles towards the parking lot.
21:04Inside the school, no one realizes what is happening.
21:07Some people think it's the usual prank of older students.
21:10David Sanders, on the other hand, immediately realizes
21:13that this is something much more serious.
21:15That you come to Mass immediately.
21:17Neil Gardner receives a radio alarm from inside the school.
21:21At the moment, however, he thinks it is a minor problem.
21:41Help.
21:44Certain.
21:46I'll help you.
21:50There's a gun over there, okay?
21:52There's another boy.
21:53They shot him in the face.
21:54Shot in the face?
21:55Half of his face is torn apart.
21:57Okay.
21:57There's another one.
22:00Stay calm.
22:01It looks like someone got shot outside.
22:02Calm down, stay calm.
22:04I want you all to come out this way.
22:06Only from here.
22:17Do not go through the parking lot.
22:20Police, he has a gesture with you.
22:21Something terrible is happening to us at Columbine.
22:24Several people were hit.
22:26Ok, can you see what's happening?
22:27Ok, yes indeed.
22:28There's a girl on the ground.
22:29They say she's paralyzed.
22:31I think she was hit, but she wasn't sure.
22:33Okay, stay on the line.
22:35Within seconds, Dave Sanders and two other Columbine High School employees
22:39they managed to evacuate the canteen.
22:42Eric and Dylan's bombs are about to explode at any moment.
22:46Fortunately, however, something is not working.
22:49Sean Graves, wounded, is trying to save himself by reaching the mess hall.
22:53He hears the footsteps of one of the two assassins coming from the corridor.
22:57He pretends to be dead.
23:11When Dylan arrives, he finds the cafeteria seemingly empty.
23:16There are no easy targets.
23:25Dave Sanders, meanwhile, desperately tries to save as many people as possible.
23:30Around here, stay still, stand still, okay?
23:34Listen to me.
23:36Over the next two minutes, Sanders runs up and down the hallways and classrooms
23:40to try to provide students with some form of protection.
23:45In a science lab upstairs,
23:48Aaron Hansi, 17, is finishing an experiment he started at home.
23:54It was lunchtime.
23:55I was in the laboratory when suddenly I heard screams.
24:00A horrible thing.
24:02I had never heard those screams and noises before.
24:08Then I saw the floor and walls move.
24:11I couldn't understand what was happening.
24:17Finally a teacher came into the classroom and told us what was happening.
24:22Stand behind the chairs, lying on the floor.
24:25The teacher came in and told us to throw ourselves behind the chairs and lie down.
24:28There was someone shooting wildly.
24:31Then he told us he had locked the door.
24:35If we wanted, we could go out, but we were safe, because no one could come in.
24:43This is exactly what we've wanted to do for years.
24:48It's wonderful.
24:50After you.
25:01Is there an emergency?
25:03Yes.
25:04Calls from Colo, go.
25:06Yes.
25:07Okay, clear.
25:08There are automatic weapons, you understand?
25:10Well.
25:14Please send lots of doctors and nurses.
25:17Neil Gardner is the first police officer to arrive on the station.
25:43Code 33, shots were fired.
25:45Shots fired into the building.
25:46For a moment Gardner believes he has hit one of the two armed boys.
25:50Lots of gunfire, code 33.
25:52After the firefight with Gardner, Eric and Dylan begin the attack inside the school.
25:57A gunshot tells us that the two suspects just entered the building.
26:01Don't pose the two suspects.
26:22Let me pass!
26:23Well, the first thing I remember is a woman running into the library and telling us
26:29everybody under the tables, there's a guy out here with a rifle.
26:32Yes, exactly. He immediately understood that the situation was very serious.
26:36Everybody on the ground!
26:38Under the tables!
26:41I said everyone down!
26:43At first, no one realized what was going on, but what is he saying? What is he shouting about?
26:48Then the woman repeated, everyone under the tables, come on!
26:50At that point people finally understood and started hiding.
27:06At that moment I thought some crazy person had entered the school and was terrorizing everyone with a gun.
27:12I couldn't even remotely imagine that he could be a student.
27:18A Columbine student who was killing his classmates.
27:36I sat on the ground and waited in silence.
27:40I just hoped I didn't get killed.
27:45Police with you from Jefferson.
27:47Good morning, I'm a teacher at Columbine.
27:50There is a student who shot towards the window.
27:52I'm inside Columbine.
27:54Ok, was anyone hurt?
27:57I'm inside Columbine.
27:59How is the student?
28:02I don't know where the student is.
28:04Was she injured?
28:06Yes, yes, I'm hurt.
28:09Ok, we will do everything we can to intervene as soon as possible.
28:14Stay on the line.
28:15Hate!
28:22Make sure the labs are closed.
28:24Yes!
28:24Dave Sanders is still trying to clear the corridors.
28:28Meanwhile, five more police units arrive at the school.
28:53Sanders is seriously injured.
28:56The massacre inside the school is about to begin.
28:59Professor Sander's cool head saved the lives of numerous students.
29:05As Professor Livio Librescu did in the massacre two days ago at Virginia Tech.
29:12But in both cases their heroism did not save them from murderous madness.
29:19Meanwhile, it's 11:26 at Columbine.
29:2411.26am.
29:27Student Aaron Enzi is still locked in the science lab.
29:31One of her teachers arrives.
29:33He is looking for someone who can provide first aid.
29:37I told him I had some knowledge and rushed with him into the corridor.
29:43The explosions of other bombs and rifle shots could be heard.
29:47At any moment I could have found myself there in front of it.
29:56Dave Sanders drags himself out of the hallway.
29:59Arrived near the science lab for some senses.
30:02His condition is very serious.
30:05We entered the lab through the back doors and found Dave Sanders on the floor.
30:11Mr. Sanders, don't worry, we're here to help you.
30:14I'm Aaron.
30:15The ambulance is arriving too.
30:17When I got to Dave he was still conscious, perfectly aware of what was happening.
30:21But he was losing a lot of blood.
30:23I realized that he had most likely been shot in the chest.
30:26The distance had closed.
30:29We should turn her on her side.
30:31Okay?
30:32Aaron immediately realizes that Dave Sanders has been shot in both shoulders.
30:37Are you cold?
30:38I saw that it had two holes.
30:40He had taken two hits and they were two bad wounds.
30:44Luckily, he was still conscious and aware of what was happening around him.
30:48Less serious than it seems.
30:50You're doing great, keep it up, Mr. Sanders.
30:53I'll try calling 991.
30:54The teacher, Teresa Miller, tries to call the police.
30:56But the lines are always busy.
31:00I was hoping I could get him out because he needed treatment.
31:05Maybe even to have surgery.
31:10Six police units have now arrived outside the school.
31:14Some officers began tending to terrified or injured students in the parking lot.
31:20Others instead surround the school.
31:22According to the procedure that gives priority to the containment of a crisis situation,
31:27None of the police enter the school to confront the murderers.
31:31While the police remain outside the building, as happened in the last massacre two days ago,
31:38the two students turned killers walk undisturbed through the long corridors of the school.
31:44They arrive at the library where 56 terrified students are hiding.
31:50This is the most brutal part of their plan.
31:53It's time for the killing spree.
31:56It's 11:29.
31:58It's 11:29.
32:03I'm not sure.
32:05Standing!
32:08Everyone with the white hat, stand up!
32:11This is for all the crap you've put us through over the last four years!
32:15They told us to get out because they wanted to blow up the library.
32:19I thought, well, if they blow up the library it means they don't have it in for us,
32:23maybe they won't hurt anyone.
32:24So I decided to get up.
32:27Convent where it would have been enough to get up and leave
32:29and that horrible story would have ended there.
32:33But when I saw that no one else was getting up, I also remained on the ground.
32:38Very good! Then I'll start shooting!
32:46Oh my God! I'm here! I'm here!
32:49Look at the line, ma'am. Is that okay? You're doing very well.
32:55Ready!
32:56They told us that someone entered the library and the building and inside the library.
33:00They entered the library and took a few steps.
33:03At one point they passed by me and at that point I recognized them.
33:06I knew them very well.
33:08They were two students, two boys like many others.
33:10They looked like they were going crazy and were blowing everything up by shooting wildly.
33:15And I thought, what the hell are they doing?
33:17What are you doing?
33:19Let's kill some cops.
33:23They're shooting!
33:27Now they're shooting in the library.
33:57You are pathetic.
34:10You are pathetic.
34:27you want to die
34:30soon we will all die
34:33we will blow up the school
34:45he said something like dirty nigger or something like that
34:51I knew perfectly well who he was angry with.
34:54Reb
34:58there's a negrito here
35:01come on, come on
35:02after which I heard more gunshots, rifle shots
35:13wow, I can't believe it
35:16I did it
35:18I thought they killed him, I couldn't see him, I imagined it
35:22even though I hoped it wasn't true
35:29who is ready to die?
35:38Aaron Hansi tries everything to keep Dave Sanders conscious
35:42a teacher and another student help him
35:45but also his father who gives him useful advice from the phone
35:48Aaron takes family photos out of Sanders' wallet
35:52to make him talk about his loved ones
35:55it was a very helpful thing
35:56It helped him to get out mentally too
35:59from that horrible moment
36:02I tried to make him think at least for a moment
36:05not to the things that caused him pain
36:07but those that were for him a source of joy and consolation
36:19open your ears wide
36:20damn pieces of shit
36:22school is dead, you understand?
36:25I'm in the back now
36:26I see smoke coming out of the building
36:30I hear screams
36:38to
36:39to
36:40to
36:41to
36:41to
36:41to
36:42to
36:42to
36:44to
36:45to
36:46to
36:46to
36:55to
36:57to
36:57to
36:59to
37:01to
37:02to
37:02to
37:06thinks
37:07Please
37:09don't kill me
37:13do you believe in God?
37:15Yes
37:15Why?
37:20because my parents raised me like this
37:45the phone line that Patty left open
37:47He recorded all the gunshots from the library massacre.
37:51oh my god
37:51I was shooting here
37:56during the shooting
37:57you could hear Dylan say a series of things to people before he killed them
38:01things that Eric didn't do
38:03there was a big difference in behavior between the two
38:07it is very difficult to hear the voices
38:09especially for me who knows both the victims and the executioners
38:14I saw his boots
38:16it was getting closer and closer
38:18passing through the book shelves
38:21I thought we're there
38:22my time has come
38:23I'm going to die any moment now
38:26I assure you it was a horrible feeling
38:30who's down there?
38:31tell me your name
38:33I told him I'm John
38:34because I knew Eric a little
38:36and I hoped he would remember
38:38who wasn't one of the cool kids in school
38:40I had always treated him with respect
38:42I had never made fun of him
38:43John Savage?
38:47Yes
38:52Dylan
38:55what are you doing?
38:57is killing
39:00it was horrible
39:02Then
39:03I looked at him and asked him
39:05are you planning to kill me?
39:08and he
39:09What?
39:10because with all the alarms and sirens he couldn't hear well
39:12then I told him again
39:13are you planning to kill me?
39:16are you planning to kill me?
39:21no come out of here
39:24run
39:28go away
39:30run
39:31run
39:43as John escapes from the nightmare
39:45the police finally
39:47it's a fast-paced race
39:49if the officers are a few dozen meters from the library
39:52they warn
39:53clearly
39:54the shots
39:55but nobody
39:57intervenes
39:58for at least another half hour
40:00no agent
40:01enter
40:02in school
40:03the police don't like this to be remembered
40:06but while those innocent kids
40:08they were brutally killed
40:10in the library
40:11the doors of that classroom were open
40:13The policemen outside could hear the boys' screams of terror.
40:17the shots
40:18and they were sitting there quietly leaning against their cars
40:23they listened without doing anything to enter and free the hostages
40:27they let them get massacred
40:29and this is unacceptable
40:31Today they tell you that they saved the other boys
40:34well you shouldn't believe him
40:36those boys saved themselves
40:38they managed to escape without anyone's help
40:40for example Lisa Croce
40:42she was hit and remained lying on the ground for many hours
40:46the police said they saved her
40:48he was losing blood
40:49he was not conscious
40:50only at 3.45 in the afternoon
40:53the police caught her
40:54she is among the lucky ones
40:55she managed to survive
40:58I was afraid that Eric and Dylan might change their minds
41:01and while I was running I thought
41:03what if they turn around and shoot me now?
41:33in those moments I understood how short life is
41:36when you're young you think it will never end
41:39which will be eternal
41:40but it's not like that
41:457 minutes
41:46how long does the terror in the library last?
41:48then suddenly at 11.36
41:51it's all over
41:55Dylan finds himself facing one of the most famous athletes of the school
41:58Ivan Todd
41:59seriously injured
42:00he threatens him
42:01he insults him
42:03but it doesn't kill him
42:05and now what do we do?
42:07do you want to go to mass?
42:08I have one last thing to do
42:12now Dylan is left with only repressed anger
42:26Eric and Dylan leave the library
42:2912 students have already died
42:3123 seriously injured
42:33they killed at random
42:36they didn't choose the victims
42:37It's 11.36am
42:39but the school
42:40the school is still full of students
42:42and terrified teachers
42:4411.36 am
42:53OK
42:54try to stay silent
43:03everywhere in the school
43:04Hundreds of students and teachers are hidden
43:09at a certain point
43:10while Teresa was still on the phone
43:12he was trying to look outside
43:13to understand what was happening
43:16he saw Eric and Dylan come down to the room
43:21they were reloading their weapons
43:23right in front of the class
43:25the doors had glass
43:27and then they could see inside
43:31I ran away
43:35it was one of the worst moments
43:37of that damned day
43:39they were a few steps away from us
43:41is he still conscious?
43:45yes, David Sanders
43:46his name is David Sanders
43:48David Sanders, okay
43:50the next day
43:51I heard that Dave had died
43:57it was a shock
44:01he was sure we would take him out
44:03and that he would make it
44:04I couldn't think about it
44:11I was the first to help him
44:15I had done my best
44:21Eric and Dylan now appear to be moving around the school
44:24without a specific goal
44:30Eric's Secret Diary
44:32and video recordings
44:33they convey the impression of a disturbed mind
44:35agitated by megalomaniacal plans for destruction
44:40Dylan in reverse
44:41It remains a mystery
44:46that Dylan helped devise the plan from the very beginning
44:49I would exclude it
44:50but that at a certain point he was enchanted by it
44:53this yes
44:54without a doubt
44:55between the two the dominant figure was Eric
44:58I spoke to his mother
44:59who told me how much Dylan cared for Eric
45:02he was always ready to help him
45:05she protected him because he was alone and had no friends
45:08Dylan on the other hand had many
45:10everyone liked it
45:13when I met Eric
45:15and for a long time afterward
45:17I didn't notice his anger
45:21I'm talking about the first two years
45:23I don't think in the second year
45:25he had had some problems
45:27because he had been part of the team
45:29he had friends
45:32we did many things together
45:34he didn't have the same anger that came out later
45:39school changed him
45:41the same thing happened to me too
45:45we hate black people
45:46Italian-Americans
45:49especially those shitty white people
45:52and do you know what we hate most?
45:55the racists
45:58those who hate Asians
46:01the Mexicans
46:02and any person just because they are of a different race
46:06I hate Star Wars movie fans
46:09how boring
46:10come back to reality
46:15I hate people who drive in the right lane
46:19you don't know how to drive
46:2711:44 am
46:30Eric tries to blow up one of the orders in the cafeteria
46:39It's his first suicide attempt since the attack began.
46:44I'm becoming radioactive at this time
46:46A month ago the doctor prescribed Eric an antidepressant
46:50Zoloft
46:50a drug indicated in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorders
46:55Nevertheless, the boy's condition continued to worsen.
46:58Eric took Zoloft for six weeks
47:03to the doctor though
47:05reported experiencing homicidal and suicidal feelings
47:09he wanted to hurt himself and hurt others
47:14according to him it was the drug's fault
47:16and even the doctors agreed
47:19so much so that the therapy was suspended
47:27they prescribed him another drug
47:29the Luvox
47:30the only difference was the name
47:42during Eric's autopsy
47:44A therapeutic amount of Luvox will be found in his blood
47:51in Dylan Klebold's blood in reverse
47:54no traces of drugs or medications will be found
48:00It's Eric's wrong therapy
48:02to play a key role in the Columbine High School tragedy
48:06or the answer must be sought in his psychiatric condition
48:09which the drugs tried to remedy
48:13one thing is certain
48:15when Eric's father hears the gunshots
48:18he immediately thinks of his son
48:21Jefferson County Police with you
48:23My name is Wayne Harris
48:24my son's name is Eric
48:25I'm afraid he might be involved in the Columbine shooting.
48:30In what sense?
48:32he's part of what they call the trench coat mafia
48:35ok, did you talk to your son this morning Mr. Harris?
48:39No
48:42in the three years preceding the Columbine tragedy
48:45There have been ten armed attacks by American students on their schools
48:51In none of these did more than five people die
48:54but Eric and Dylan had in mind to kill hundreds of them
48:59in the hope of understanding what led them to imagine such a massacre
49:03and to implement it with such coldness
49:05every aspect of their short lives was analyzed
49:12the answer is perhaps that there is not a single cause
49:18Eric and Dylan are perhaps just the result of a series of causes
49:22of a series of circumstances that provided them with the means and motivations
49:25to commit an incredible act of adolescent terrorism
49:29facilitated in turn by omissions and superficiality on the part of the police
49:34of the parents
49:36of the doctors
49:37and of the school
49:40I think the theory of contributory causes is the most correct one
49:43there would have been millions of chances to stop them in time
49:46the police could have stopped them millions and millions of times
49:49he could have contacted the families
49:51he could have done a little more in-depth investigation
49:54the parents then
49:55why didn't they go into their rooms
49:57maybe they would have seen those bombs
49:59they would have asked is there something wrong
50:00there have been hundreds of times when it would have been possible to intervene earlier
50:09It's almost noon
50:11Eric and Dylan make their last journey to the library
50:16a team of six agents is finally ready to raid the school
50:20but from a door in the opposite wing of the building
50:23Once inside, the police search the rooms thoroughly
50:26one by one leaving the library for last
50:29they will arrive only three and a half hours later
50:33after the Columbine tragedy
50:35The police have revised their response procedures regarding so-called imminent threats.
50:40now in case of a shooting alarm
50:42the police are required to intervene immediately
50:46two minutes past twelve
50:52Eric and Dylan arrive at the library again
50:55before them a horrible vision of death shrouded in thick smoke
51:07before taking their own lives a few meters away from their own victims
51:10Eric and Dylan will commit one last act of madness
51:40in those videotapes
51:43recorded at home by eric and dylan
51:46everything was there
51:50although no one could have imagined that that sick fantasy would turn into such a frightening reality
52:04no piece of shit
52:06you have to leave that boy alone
52:09if you don't do it
52:10I'll cut your damn dick off
52:13and I'll stick it in your ass
52:15Like this
52:15cough damn it for the next four months
52:20I don't give a shit what I do
52:22if you touch it again
52:23I'll take out my rifle and put a nice bullet in that little fucking head of yours.
52:29did you hear me correctly?
52:30piece of shit
52:31did you understand?
52:32ball entry and exit
52:49ok what do you have?
52:51ok last name Harris
52:59yes we got it
53:03I know them
53:04they are my friends
53:06I know them
53:06one of them is called Dylan Klebold
53:12we took
53:13can you spell the last name
53:17did you hear?
53:18you can spell
53:19and how is Mr. Sanders done?
53:22How is Mr. Sanders doing now?
53:25he's still breathing
53:31Oh
53:32Thank you all.
