00:00NOT CHANGE ANYTHING!
00:10Welcome to MojoPlays, and hoo boy am I excited for The Witcher 4.
00:14God damn is it gonna be good.
00:16And god damn am I speculating on what on earth is gonna happen with the damn thing.
00:19Sorry for all the damns.
00:21Anyways, these are 10 theories about The Witcher 4.
00:23I've had a lot of coffee today, let's go!
00:25Before we continue, we publish content all week long,
00:27so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos.
00:33The coins mean something.
00:35Kevir's smuggling trade is of no concern to me.
00:38Shush, shush, shush.
00:39The manticore that flattened your cart and devoured your men?
00:44Quite the opposite.
00:47I hate referencing Reddit, but sometimes there's no better place for speculation.
00:51Reddit's r slash Witcher community recently went full detective over a cryptic teaser showing
00:57a bundle of coins.
00:59Yep, coins.
01:00Fans are convinced this mysterious change purse holds the key to The Witcher 4's story.
01:04Theories are flying faster than Geralt's sword.
01:07One Redditor claims it ties to the Curse of the Black Sun.
01:10Another insists it's a Defier's Auron.
01:13And yet another says it looks like the portal series jumped through in The Witcher 3.
01:16Bonus points?
01:16Some think the runes are ancient Futhark hinting at Icelandic or Scandinavian lore,
01:21even though the series is rooted in Polish mythology.
01:24One ring to rule them all?
01:26Nope.
01:26One coin.
01:27Endless nerd debates.
01:33The significance of the BAUK.
01:38Run!
01:39To shelter!
01:40To your father!
01:42Run!
01:44The BAUK is the latest monster teased in The Witcher 4 trailer.
01:48And it's more than just a beefy boss to whack with a sword.
01:50Inspired by Slavic folklore, the game director told IGN it could shape the story of a mission.
01:56What sets it apart?
01:57The BAUK messes with fear and trauma, playing mind games with its victim psyche mid-fight.
02:03So it's not just brawn and cool graphics.
02:05These monsters tell stories, making battles as much about emotional whiplash as sword swings.
02:10Basically, it's therapy with fangs.
02:20The trial can be done by adults.
02:22Right, so what now?
02:24We can begin.
02:25We need only brew the potions.
02:27Wait.
02:28Why couldn't we?
02:29Do it earlier?
02:31Because the preparatory potions for the trial are strongly reactive.
02:34Ciri's transformation into a full Witcher in The Witcher 4 trailer shakes up what fans
02:39thought they knew.
02:40Normally, the trial of the grasses is a brutal, often deadly ordeal for kids, but the trailer
02:45hints Ciri undergoes it as an adult.
02:47If so, maybe this opens the door for The Witcher order to recruit more women.
02:52And you know, grown-ups who are tired of babysitting monsters.
02:55Gameplay wise, an adult trial could mean Ciri unlocks powers other witches can't touch.
03:00It's only one trailer, but it's packed with hints.
03:02And CD Projekt Red promises not to repeat past mistakes.
03:06Adult Witcher, Ciri?
03:08Coming soon?
03:15That normal?
03:17Yes.
03:18Uma's body is disintegrating from the inside.
03:21Once that's complete, we'll need to reform it, or he'll die.
03:25New Witcher school.
03:26She prefers practice to theory.
03:29Hmm?
03:31Why?
03:32Time to wake up, Master.
03:35These lessons so boring they put you to sleep too.
03:38Dammit.
03:39After taking notes on ghouls and owl ghouls, wanted to rest my eyes a bit.
03:45A school of the lynx?
03:46Yep.
03:46That brief glimpse of a lynx medallion in the Witcher 4 trailer hints at a brand new
03:51Witcher school, apparently founded by Ciri herself.
03:53Unlike the traditional schools, with their strict training, the school of the lynx would
03:58reflect Ciri's own experiences.
04:00That means she's probably training a new generation of witches and maybe teaching them
04:04that monster hunting doesn't have to be all grim potions and brooding stairs.
04:07A more flexible, inclusive and morally complicated approach to slaying beasts?
04:12Sounds like Ciri's running Witcher Hogwarts now.
04:15Robes optional.
04:16Swords mandatory.
04:26You're not in a circus pirouette.
04:28Ciri has different morals.
04:30Nay, nay you can't.
04:31Tis tradition.
04:33Chosen she is.
04:34By the gods.
04:35No!
04:38You chose her.
04:43Ciri isn't just a Witcher for hire, she's a hero with a conscience.
04:48In The Witcher 4, her path will likely differ from Geralt's slay monster collect coin approach.
04:53The trailer shows her helping others for no reward, which is basically the opposite of
04:58Geralt's business model.
04:59Her idealism might seem naïve in the brutal Witcher world, but it sets up a story full
05:03of tough moral choices.
05:05Ciri is the Witcher equivalent of that one friend who insists on returning a lost wallet.
05:10While you're whispering, but what if there's money in there?
05:21It's all we wanted.
05:23For her to go to the woods.
05:24To go to the gods.
05:25Gods?
05:28Alchemy and potions will work differently.
05:30Know any advanced formulae?
05:32Maybe something you could teach me?
05:33All I know I learned from Master Grammest of Skelliger.
05:38Looking to apprentice yourself in the herbalist trade?
05:41Nah, I just want to learn something new.
05:43The Witcher 4 trailer hints that potions and alchemy are still front and centre, which
05:47is no surprise.
05:48Players might get deeper into brewing and experimenting just to see how much a vial of suspicious liquid
05:53can change Ciri.
05:54Unlike Geralt, she didn't undergo the trial of the grasses as a kid, so potions might hit
05:59her with unexpected side effects, think boosted senses or temporary paranoia.
06:05Making alchemy a requirement instead of an option would also give the game so much
06:09more customisation.
06:10Funny, isn't it?
06:11A druid should know every tree, every bush.
06:15Falka's lineage.
06:16Out of the way, you louts!
06:18Or we'll cut up your mugs so the girls in Crippled Cates won't even have you.
06:21What do you say?
06:23There is a much beloved fan theory about the connection between Ciri and the rarely mentioned
06:28Falka.
06:29Falka led a notorious rebellion and is considered the greatest criminal who ever lived in Witcher
06:34law.
06:35She also killed a lot of her family and was eventually burned at the stake.
06:38During this burning, Falka cursed all the people present, promising that their descendants
06:43would suffer at the hands of a child bearing her blood.
06:46Now, we'd have to do a lot of historical unpacking here, so I'm just going to give you guys
06:49the short version.
06:50Apologies.
06:50A baby birthed by a deranged woman ended up in Falka's care.
06:53That baby is Ciri's ancestor.
06:55However, the coincidence of Falka giving birth at the same time suggests the baby could
06:59have actually been Falka's own child.
07:01If this is the case, is the Witcher 4 the time when the child bearing her blood finally
07:06makes those cursed descendants pay?
07:08Ciri.
07:09It's definitely Ciri.
07:10It's Ciri, you guys.
07:11Let's stop being objective.
07:12Rivia.
07:12Well, why didn't you say that from the get-go?
07:17Sorry to hassle yous, misunderstanding that.
07:20Mr Wily's expecting you.
07:24New Antagonist
07:36There is no confirmed antagonist for The Witcher 4 as the game is still in early development,
07:41but fans and rumors suggest possible villains.
07:43One is Leo Bonhart, a powerful hunter from the books.
07:47Leo is one of the most brutal villains in the Witcher book series.
07:50He's a mercenary, bounty hunter and professional psychopath who takes a disturbing amount of pleasure
07:55in killing witches.
07:56Other suggestions based on the books include the timeless and malevolent Gaunter O'Dimm.
08:01But with the game being its own product, players also theorize about a new threat, possibly linked to Ciri's powers.
08:14Geralt isn't done.
08:15Maybe not entirely, but perhaps that's for the best.
08:19Back on topic.
08:21How's it look?
08:22How far behind Yennefer are we?
08:24Two, three days.
08:26Trail's fresh.
08:27But it looks like it leads towards the main road.
08:30Could be muddled there.
08:32We all know that Geralt isn't the protagonist, but The Witcher 4 doesn't necessarily have to go the way of
08:37The Last of Us Part 2.
08:38You can't keep a good Witcher down that easily.
08:41Interestingly, the Game Awards trailer ends with Geralt's voice saying time for a new saga,
08:46while the official Witcher's channel version quietly leaves that out.
08:49Classic CD Projekt Red misdirection.
08:51Maybe Geralt has retired to sip potions like cocktails.
08:54Or maybe he's lurking in the shadows as Ciri's mentor.
08:57Still, his total absence would leave a wolf-sized hole in the story.
09:01After all, what's The Witcher without its original grizzled hero?
09:06Time for a new saga.
09:09See you on the path.
09:12Ciri is a different kind of Witcher.
09:19Back to the village.
09:21Go. Now.
09:22The Witcher 4 trailer confirms that Ciri's magical glow up just got even more complicated.
09:27She's gone full Witcher, which is wild considering she's the first woman, and someone with Elder Blood no less, to
09:34survive the process.
09:35That's like passing Witcher bootcamp while having built-in magic wifi.
09:39But here's the kicker.
09:41The trailer shows her using Witcher signs and chugging potions like a pro, yet no hint of her signature Elder
09:47Blood powers.
09:48So what gives?
09:49Did the mutation nerf her time-hopping skills?
09:52Did the trial turn her magical GPS off?
09:54Or, plot twist, did it supercharge her abilities into something entirely new?
09:59Either way, I'm excited to find out.
10:01Can't change anything!
