00:00No one likes laundry day, but what if you could get away with doing it far less often?
00:04Well, experts are now weighing in, saying you don't always have to rush every article of clothing to the hamper
00:09after every wear.
00:10Dr. Joshua Zeicher tells HuffPost,
00:12A rule of thumb is the closer it is to your skin, the more frequently it should be washed.
00:16Explaining,
00:17Intimates that are exposed to heavy sweat or potential body soils should be washed daily.
00:21But adds, if you never broke a sweat in things like sweaters, shirts, bras, and PJs,
00:25they can probably be worn a few times before needing to be laundered.
00:28And dermatologists seem to agree, with Dr. Annie Gonzalez telling Brightly,
00:32If you're just lounging around the house in it, you can probably get away with three to four wears before
00:36washing.
00:37And for outerwear, that means you can get away without a wash even longer.
00:40They also add that if you wear suits, you're likely dry cleaning them.
00:43But the pros at A Cleaner World say,
00:45You can probably wear those three to four times before getting them cleaned as well.
00:49If you're going to be wearing a garment again and again, experts recommend hanging it up to let it air
00:53out.
00:53Outside is best if you have a laundry line.
00:55With cleaning pro Becky Rapinchuk telling HuffPost,
00:58You can also toss them into a dryer with a damp towel to refresh and de-wrinkle previously worn items.
