00:12:41behavior is caught on camera first there's late for her flight karen who won't take no for an answer
00:12:48there's parking spot karen who thinks she owns the whole damn block there's traffic stop karen who
00:12:56believes the law does not apply to her shoplifting karen who's in deep denial and then there's hoa karen
00:13:04who runs the condo complex like a dictator now to help you get into character i'll let you fight over
00:13:13who gets which karen then later today you'll be shooting your viral videos with a pop culture expert
00:13:21who has a phd in karenology oh god i'm of course referring to me
00:13:31no way i can't get enough of these videos it's not just improv it's character improv with ru paul so

00:13:41got to keep up with her while staying oh my god this is this is a hard one bracelet start

00:13:48and made the best drag queen win
00:13:53karen get your ass on this girl this week's maxi challenge is an improv acting challenge karen's gone
00:14:00wild we have some things to sort out we have to decide amongst ourselves which karen each of us will

00:15:03going into this one the thing about improv is like you kind of you think about everything about improv is
00:15:08it's a team it's like a team sport it's a ball it's tennis match you have to like be paying
00:15:12attention to what the scene partner is saying so that you can respond to it in previous comedy
00:15:16acting challenges i have done very well i was in the top for rdr live and for the snatch game
00:15:22so going into this i'm feeling pretty good my favorite karen is the bath and body works candle karen
00:15:28appleton oh yeah that youtube video you've never seen this i don't think so can i be honest those
00:15:35videos stress me out i think i can't i like can't watch them um okay i'm not trying to be
00:15:42like a
00:15:42snob about it but they do just kind of devolve into screaming and rolling around just has that like
00:15:47jerry springer like quality and i'm trying to take my karen in sort of i guess a slightly different
00:15:55direction i'm kind of making her a bit kooky she's going to a girls trip in palm springs
00:16:01you're going to go do a tour of the rock formations snatch game was something that i had time to
00:16:07prepare
00:16:07for and think through before i maw you like a jaguar but this is more on the fly so i've

00:16:15quickly find this character i'm doing little bubble maps i am just making lists oh you made a tree

00:18:09the puppet challenge the thing is it was about framing it in a way for your personality to come
00:18:14out which leads me to this improv fit here do you watch the the karen videos what's the one thing

00:18:20these karens have in common they don't take no for an answer okay they want something yeah and they're
00:18:27not getting it that is key right there you have to determine what your want is in this and you
00:18:34really
00:18:34want to get those sound bites like ain't nobody got time for that you know if you have a person
00:18:39in your life that you want to pattern this person after that helps i mean when i think of karen
00:18:45i
00:18:45always think of my sister rozzy she would be late to picking me up but she would be mad at
00:18:49me she would
00:18:50always manipulate things in a way that she would wind up on top you see what the tactic there the
00:18:56psychological tactic so how are you going to make your karen funnier than what's on the paper i think
00:19:03there's something fun about watching somebody who's used to being in charge just be told no the
00:19:09more fleshed out the character is the easier we can rely on what how they would react in these moments
00:19:14yeah use your imagination to frame it in a situation that can create more i think some good advice that
00:19:21i got from you is that to just really lean into the absurdity and to like really let that fear
00:19:26of
00:19:27like it not going well kind of like just get in the back seat yeah lean into the absurdity with
00:19:32with the roast you just let it all hang out yeah that's what you got to do do you hear
