35:23i'm a little bit nervous today because obviously didn't sell any of my deal of the day pieces
35:28so a little bit upset and scared to what's going to happen in the boardroom today i brought cornerback
35:34to the boardroom last week he's definitely going to bring me back if we lose it's game on i'm ready
35:39for a war i feel like i'm walking into a lion's den with nothing to defend myself with it is

35:44selling challenge i'm not sure if i sold anything so that leaves me in a pretty vulnerable position
35:49you can go through to the boardroom now
36:11so tv shopping um team alpha
36:16i believe that karishma you wanted to be the project manager is that right yes lord sugar but
36:23then again pasha you haven't been a project manager have you you kind of like ducked it um i was
36:29waiting
36:29for the right task i haven't got experience live selling however i do have a big following on tiktok
36:35and i do have a social media presence so you know i just felt like my skills and abilities would
36:42be
36:42best for this this sort of task so pasha's passion versus karishma's charisma yeah i've learned that
36:49and i think we worked really well together okay so product selection the structure that i went in
36:55with is i want a high cost item and a low cost item if we can sell just a few
37:00of the high cost items
37:01potentially that could be the reason that we win the task so what you ended up with was the headphones
37:07the water flosser um and table tennis yeah so where was your luck um karishma while this all this was
37:15going on so lawrence and i spoke of the jewelry expert we were also joined with rothner and dan
37:20um we kind of were competing to get the product we wanted um we expressed our interest in the mid
37:26-range
37:26item you mean the ring the ring the tanzanite ring i was watching you uh selling that stuff apparently
37:33there was 11 in stock or something like that is that right yeah yeah um there still is 11 in
37:41stock
37:41there is at the moment yeah because i'm afraid you didn't succeed and then one of the reasons i think
37:46you didn't succeed was because in my opinion you missed out the point of who you were selling to
37:52it should be love it should be about you know a gift for somebody instead you start giving them a
38:00geographic um description of where it comes from who gives a about that not exactly lord of the rings
38:09there my friend not quite no i mean in fairness krishman knew a lot about the rings and i think
38:15there was a bit of scarcity because um it only comes from a very small area hmm anyway i think
38:21the first
38:21people on your team was you and you with the headphones right yeah okay and in the gallery
38:28was them two correct yeah and silence i heard you sat there doing nothing for a while
38:37krishman you were close to mike do you do you agree with that um so we were was you getting

38:44feedback initially um initially to be honest my earpiece was cutting out every it wasn't cutting
38:50out they weren't talking oh okay well i mean my noise cancelling headphones it sounded like you must
38:56have had noise cancelling microphones in there anyway let me come on to the flosser yeah i was very
39:03confident selling it just because i have it at home and i did want to have food there as well

39:09unfortunately i saw that you had some spinach you stick some in your mouth right and then you get
39:15the machine blow on it and then you take it out your mouth with your fingers again yeah it was
39:21very
39:21very very good yeah the water power coming out it was powerful i could use it to clean my car

39:28and then there's the ping pong i like that ping pong thing i was thinking of setting it up in
39:34here for me
39:34and uh to play um you sold 28 of those actually yeah anyway there we are so team eclipse now

39:46ended up with what i will call the core machine uh yoga mat correct boring uh and the shoe dryer
39:54unusual
39:55item right um so you start off um connor with the um the core circus you look like you're having

40:03argument with an ironing board actually yeah yeah i definitely um look i came in with high energy and
40:10passion and i was hoping to shift that by using my energy then you then you call upon dan he
40:15comes in
40:15done a few bits and pieces and then went off we were we were we were doing a couple to
40:22work out at one
40:22stage i was doing pilates and dan was doing some core exercises so yeah i do i do think it
40:26was sellable
40:27i just probably didn't do myself justice moving on from there then so you had the um bracelet you
40:36looked like you're putting on handcuffs at one stage a lot you lost the key you're fumbling around
40:44dan did very well also in terms of his engaging with the customers and saying their names actually
40:48saying which one of the key yeah when you that was it was quite clever that when we said thank
40:52you for
40:52the order and all that oh they got some orders did they oh yeah they got some orders yeah um
40:57i was
40:58extremely proud of dan for putting himself out of his comfort zone almost and really applying himself
41:02he exceeded probably all of our expectations oh there you go compliments there dan that's very kind
41:08compliments all right um moving on we've got uh kieran on the uh yoga mat yoga mat and that i
41:16mean
41:16i've got to tell you that was painful my friend painful did you say i'll i'll do that one i
41:22said
41:23i i i would do that one um but i also offered to it was like a thick doormat to
41:30me
41:32yeah as yoga mats go it wasn't bad yeah can i just add low sugar i expected that the boys
41:37would probably
41:38pick an item that they were personally really confident selling kieran's great at selling so i was
41:42pretty shocked that he was just going to be selling the mats but then he was confident he could sell
41:46them in large quantity okay well moving on we went to the most unusual item the shoe dryer
41:55uh which levi uh took the role that's right lord sugar yeah that's correct i mean it's an unusual item
42:01in fact i bought one from my wife for christmas so she's going to be delighted when she opens it
42:09up
42:10so she's going to throw that straight back at you yeah i mean you're putting shoes on the wrong way
42:15around pouring water in trainers um to be fair lord sugar and then um butch cassidy it comes running in
42:24at the end uh to help you out you know it were quite hard to get me bearings to be
42:29fair lord sugar it
42:30were in in gallery it sounded like somebody ate the microphone and uh people just shouting and then
42:37yeah it would it would hard to concentrate try and get a point across while it's getting loading the
42:41ear hmm right okay well um it's that time now let's have a look and see how we did shall
42:52we so um
42:56thing you should know about tv selling is that you may have expectations of what you think you sold but
43:05as you know people change their minds right so i've now got the real confirmed figures from the
43:13shopping channel so tim can you tell me the final results of your team well you mentioned a number
43:19of sales have been made but unfortunately not all of those sales went through including the one high
43:25priced item of the core crusher that was almost sold but somebody pulled out but they still managed to
43:31sell 18 products giving them a total sales on the day of 773 pounds and 82 pounds well done everyone
43:40right okay good karen same question how did your team get on well unfortunately not all of their sales
43:48went through either um including one of the high priced headphones um and their highest priced item alan the
43:56ring you know they they didn't sell any of those at all um but they did still manage to sell
44:0340 items
44:04across the hour totaling 893 pounds and 60 pence right well done team alpha your first time as a project
44:17manager and you pulled it through yeah okay make your way back to the house i'll see you on the

45:14then we're in the final file we just need to get there now one of the things though that i
45:22did say
45:22in strategy is like bringing high energy was great but i think ultimately what you two failed to do was
45:27to harness it in the correct way we sold me yeah and i accept i didn't you guys only sold
45:32two units
45:32each i had to roll up bit of phone mate connor sold nothing kieran didn't sell a lot and he's
45:36supposed
45:37to be an amazing salesperson and quite frankly i don't really know what levi is good at other than being
45:40a
45:40great guy the one person i was disappointed in kieran is you i have to say i've worked with you
45:44and i thought you're great when you're presenting i honestly thought you you'd do a bit better just
45:48because we felt the task for lack of instruction and no sales kieran loves to deflect and he loves
45:53to say he can't do something at the last moment he said he'd take a high ticket item just as
45:56we were
45:56heading out the door as he sounded enthusiastic about the yoga mat i gave it to him then he said
46:00maybe
46:01not i can't do yoga the reality is is that we didn't make enough sales it's down to selling i
46:05mean myself and
46:05rovner sold the most and i know it wasn't loads but we sold high ticketed items and sold multiple
46:10of them i would have thought with lower ticketed items we could have sold a few more the failure
46:14in this task lies with project manager connor and kieran the polar opposites they don't work well
46:19together in it and it showed in this task
46:33yes would you send the candidates in please
46:47well uh you lot lost by 120 pounds which
46:55it's not a lot of money now alpha sold 40 products
47:00and you sold 18 only so connor the core machine that you demonstrated the last time the professional
47:09presenter did it they sold 55. yeah so so my plan with the core circuit yoga was two two target
47:17audience the older or maybe new to fitness and then the more experienced user of fitness like myself
47:22i demonstrated as someone who's maybe avid in fitness and wants to use it to enhance their
47:26workouts maybe after a cardio session i think it implied you had to be very fit to use it yeah
47:31um anybody i'm not surprised you were sweating because you hadn't sold any yeah definitely i did
47:36give it my all it did give my energy and i hold my hands up i'm disappointed as pm that
47:40i didn't sell
47:41one item i mean dan walking in it looked like you called in a bloke from from it you know
47:46now then um
47:48um rothner and dan the bracelets um you only sold three they usually sell 21 in that slot i am
47:59disappointed that we only ended up selling three of them i did really believe in the product and
48:03i hoped it come across if you'd have got the ring and sold three of them yeah like you sold
48:08three of
48:09the bracelets you would have won so we didn't go why didn't you get the ring we we thought maybe
48:13connor
48:13might find the ring a bit too expensive he was quite clear about asking for a mid-range item but
48:18maybe he did when we know when i asked for numbers in the brainstorm he didn't give any numbers the
48:22mid-range my mid-range could be very different to your mid-range your role was to pick deal of
48:26the
48:26day so what what what she's trying to say is that it was left to our own devices to pick
48:30what we
48:30thought was the most sensible item that we could sell on tv but that's what that's why you replaced
48:35and you picked the cheapest yeah um now moving on the yoga mat this company has sold 390 in the
48:45last
48:45session you sold six and you say you are a um super salesman exactly i'm a salesman yeah absolutely
48:54um we didn't sell many did you so i did offer to swap the high-end item i was told
49:00no were you not
49:01extremely enthusiastic about the yoga mat i said i could never said i wasn't mate i've done the
49:05set ups i've done a few press ups exactly levi was levi come in to perform on the mat right
49:10at the
49:10end you should have sent him in earlier it were a bit painful to watch so i looked at galleries
49:14you
49:14were painful to watch my friend you were really painful to watch all the way around including
49:20the shoe dryer thing i mean what a bloody product that is and you know what they usually sell 300
49:26in
49:27a session 300 i've never heard of and you sold three i did try to explain about the shoe drying
49:33properties but when i had somebody like team shouting in my ears i had kieran walking towards
49:38me were very distracted for me well one of the comments from a viewer was that this is a joke
49:44i'm flabbergasted i can't watch it anymore they tuned out right and i have to say i was flabbergasted also
49:51i think it was diabolical i do believe that um on reflection it is um
50:00it's actually time i've won most at task lord sugar well no you didn't win them you didn't win them
50:06you didn't you was on winning teams so so you know what um levi um it is with uh regret

51:19this particular task it was the worst tv selling i've ever seen in this whole process the worst
51:25painful anyway kieran i mean he's a chirpy chappy he chirped a lot but he didn't make the sales
51:31the important thing on this task was to convert the products to something that the audience wanted
51:37and unfortunately he made such a hash of that mat nobody bought anywhere near the numbers that you
51:43said you got from the channel themselves then the man obviously they sold three bracelets had they
51:49instead of chosen the ring and sold three rings they would have won i mean he was with rothner when
51:55they picked it maybe they didn't engage the buyers as well as they could have um connor well connor's a
52:01great talker he emphasized his ability in front of the camera but he wasn't that good behind the camera
52:07unfortunately a lot of this does rest on his shoulders could you send the three of them in please
52:24so on this task connor you were the project manager you've been a project manager twice right
52:33and regretfully you lost twice why have you brought these two back in then um when i made my selection
52:40i reviewed the entire process that we've made it here um when it comes to kieran in fairness to kieran
52:45kieran has grabbed the bull by the horns and he's really applied himself but at times he's been
52:49called difficult to work with and disruptive so in terms of looking for your next apprentice i just
52:53don't know if he would be the correct candidate everyone works with people differently correct yeah and
52:59that's that's not my decision to make but that's just my perspective when it came to dan dan was
53:03slow to get into the process and maybe didn't apply himself every week to the extent that me personally
53:08has well i mean this was a selling task um myself i sold 300 pounds worth of stuff they sold
53:1360 pounds
53:14between both and i think throughout the whole of this process i know it took me a little while to
53:17settle
53:17into it but this has been a big learning curve for myself i've developed a lot of skills i've learned
53:21how
53:22to work with people but i wouldn't necessarily usually work with and i think i've really grown in this
53:25process in terms of becoming a better business business person for yourself lord sugar hmm kieran
53:31super salesman sold six been on the losing side five times yes lord sugar i've put myself forward for
53:41a lot of things i haven't shied away i've give everything my all some it's the team effort not
53:46just an individual effort so where i might have small wins the team may not always win hmm right
53:53well here we have a dilemma really i have to make a decision lord sugar if i may yes i've

54:00project manager twice on the same task and you won once by default arguably a one a win yeah yeah
54:09if i stay in this process i would like to be the project manager on task 10 to prove to
54:14you
54:14what i can do if i lose we shake hands i walk out all right that's very interesting anybody else
54:21want
54:22to make that offer uh i don't feel the need to you can i can if i want to i
54:26felt that i over the last
54:28eight tasks i don't need another task to prove myself i have given myself one you lost you know
54:33you've lost five you've been in the losing team five times correct and every time within those tasks
54:38the project manager has usually always had a very specific role that they've wanted me to excel in
54:42and at numerous times within this process i have excelled i don't need a tenth task to beg you
54:46to to take me you don't i don't i don't think i do what about you dan i feel like
54:53over the past nine
54:54tasks i've really kind of proven myself in many different ways um i i do believe that ultimately
55:00you've got to decide who you want to go into business with i know that i've only ever worked for
55:03myself i'm an entrepreneur through and through that's all i know and the industry that i'm in i know it
55:07so
55:08well so it's whether you think there's great potential with my business that i've got and if it's
55:11something you want to join me on the journey with i have observed you over the past nine weeks um
55:23dan
55:26you're going to remain in this process okay thank you lord sugar um this leaves me you too

55:48at this stage connor it's been very nice to uh meet you and be associated with you
55:54but i have to think about a kind of a gut feeling okay
