00:45It's a mocap
00:47The mocap experience
00:48relies on the power of imagination
00:51So you have to have a great grasp
00:53on what you're going for
00:54and what is real
00:55And it's important for actors to be grounded
00:58before they throw themselves
00:59into a mocap experience
01:01which is quite different from being on stage
01:03Surrounded by cameras
01:05Everybody's talking to you
01:07Everybody's trying to give you a note
01:08It's unnatural man
01:09You know stacked up with all this gear
01:11and it gets in the way sometimes
01:12and you still gotta figure out a way how to make it work
01:15and you know really be in the moment of the scene
01:17Nobody's coming for you
01:19Harrison Ford got the benefit of you know
01:21being on that set in that location
01:23and he puts on the jacket
01:25and he puts on the hat
01:26and he has the whip
01:27What we do
01:29all of those things are gone
01:30and all I have is Velcro
01:33and a grey box
01:34and a camera
01:35hanging off my head
01:36about six inches
01:37Best part is
01:38fits great
01:39Doesn't change the performance at all either
01:41And so for me
01:42it's always
01:43more important about
01:44understanding
01:45not the shoes that I have to fill
01:47but
01:48just the character
01:49that's there to inhabit
01:50that exists outside
01:51of all those trappings
01:52Indy doesn't wake up and go
01:54I'm not Indiana Jones
01:55until I put on the hat
01:56He's Indiana Jones through and through
01:57Do you have any idea how old that was?
01:59Wow I guess the most fun scene to shoot was
02:02almost any scene with Indy and Vos
02:04because it felt like a boxing match
02:06and I think that's what a good scene should be about
02:08it should feel like a boxing match
02:11One of my favorite moments is
02:13Alessandra and I
02:15who plays Gina
02:16It was one of the first big scenes where
02:18we get to really kind of understand
02:21who each other's character is
02:23and in that we're also kind of getting to know
02:25who each other as an actor is
02:27it's a dance
02:28and you want to kind of figure out
02:29who's leading
02:30and what we discovered is that
02:32both of us like to lead
02:34Let's see if you can keep up
02:35What do you mean if I can keep up?
02:38So you create this connection between
02:41everyone
02:42you have so many cameras all around you
02:44that you actually have
02:46everybody playing their parts
02:48at the same time
02:49so when you are acting
02:50and you turn around
02:51they're all acting with you
02:53at the same moment
02:54and it's so real
02:56Our stunt crew would do an incredible
02:58way of playing a multitude of characters
03:00We made it Henri!
03:02We were aware I think at all times
03:04that we're working on
03:05Indiana Jones
03:06but still we were able to keep it light
03:08and actually have some fun with it
03:10but to really have the freedom to explore
03:13that's important
03:13We all have a lot of fun
03:15hopefully everything is like that
03:16I don't know
03:18You're jealous
03:19You wanna do it too
03:20Everybody that is
03:21that is stepping foot on the stage
03:23is doing so because of the love that they have
03:25for this character and this franchise
03:27and nobody here wants to mess it up
03:29Everybody here wants to get it right
03:31from the top down
03:32and all they want to do
03:33is make the kind of game
03:35that somebody goes
03:36this
03:37this is the kind of game
03:39that have been waiting to play
