U.S. President Donald Trump revealed what he calls a “secret gift” from Iran amid rising tensions—allowing multiple oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said Iran initially offered “8 boats of oil” as a signal of seriousness toward a potential ceasefire deal, though reports suggest the number may have increased. The move comes despite public denials from Tehran, adding to confusion around ongoing backchannel diplomacy. Is this a real peace signal or strategic messaging?

00:00You know, I told you about a present, right?
00:03Steve, can I reveal the present?
00:06You can do anything you want to do.
00:10They said to show you the fact that we're real and solid and we're there.
00:18We're going to let you have eight boats of oil.
00:21Eight boats, eight big boats of oil.
00:23This was two days ago.
00:25And they'll sail up tomorrow.
00:27That was three days ago.
00:30And I didn't think much about it.
00:32And then I watched the news and they said, a very good anchor, actually.
00:39Happened to be Fox.
00:40But I watched it and they said, something's unusual happening.
00:45There are eight boats that are going right up the middle of the Hormuz Strait.
00:53Eight big tankers are going loaded up with oil right through.
00:56And I said, well, I guess, I guess they were right.
01:00And they were, they were real.
01:02And I think they were Pakistani flagged.
01:06And I said, well, I guess we're dealing with the right people.
01:08And actually, they then apologized for something they said.
01:13And they said, we're going to send two more boats.
01:15And it ended up being 10 boats.
01:18And I hope I haven't screwed up your negotiations.
01:20I thought it was appropriate to say, because I did taunt you the other day by saying they're
01:25going to give us a present.
01:27There's been a report that potentially the U.S. is looking at diverting some munitions,
01:32air defenses that were meant for Ukraine to the Middle East.
01:35Is there any accuracy to that?
01:36Is that something you're considering?
01:37Well, I don't have to ask me, but we do that all the time.
01:40You know, we have tremendous amounts of ammunition.
01:42We have them in other countries, like in Germany and all over Europe.
01:45We have, you know, we're packed.
01:47And we take sometimes, we take from one and we use for another.
01:51We help Ukraine.
01:53Biden started and he gave $350 billion away.
01:57Too much, way too much.
01:59And we sell it now to NATO.
02:02We sell it to NATO and they probably give it to Ukraine.
02:06Mostly, I think they give it to Ukraine.
02:07But we get paid for everything that we don't give anything anymore.
02:13That's a tough situation, that whole Ukraine situation.
02:16Very, very tough.
02:18We're working very hard on getting that one solved.
02:21It doesn't have any impact on us, virtually nothing.
02:24In fact, if anything, I mean, we sell a lot of equipment for that unfortunate war.
02:2925,000 people died last month.
02:3125,000, mostly soldiers.
02:33Some in the towns, but for the most part, soldiers are dying.
02:37Nobody's seen anything like it since World War II.
02:41It's a terrible situation and hopefully that's going to get settled.
02:46You know, I settled eight wars.
02:48And many of them, I think, were more difficult than this one.
02:51In theory, they were more difficult.
02:53But there's tremendous hatred between President Putin and President Zelensky.
02:57Tremendous hatred.
02:59I've seen it before, but I've never seen it maybe to this extent.
