00:00When a Dallas area crossing guard's car broke down, a group of elementary school dads raised
00:04about seven grand to buy her a new one, and they did it in less than a week. Tricia Crawford's
00:09car
00:10stopped running back in October, and so she commuted to work first by taking lifts and then
00:14by the bus when she ran out of extra cash. For a while, nobody knew about her troubles, but then
00:19the dads found out. Now, this isn't a gathering of just any old fathers either. These dads have a
00:24club that aims to, quote, better the students and teachers' environments. The dads say Crawford is
00:29the linchpin for steady morning arrivals and afternoon dismissals. After their banner first
00:35week raising money, the group still needed a couple months to raise enough to buy a Jeep from a local
00:39auto repair shop, who, of course, sold it as a discount given the situation. They even had
00:44some leftover cash to cover the insurance. And get this, this wasn't even the first time this dad's
00:49club was able to raise money for Crawford. Back in 2023, her car was totaled in an accident,
00:54and they turned to GoFundMe to raise $5,000 that time, too.
