00:02Once there was a little bear. His name was Zhao Li Wu.
00:06That name was quite a mouthful. So we called him Mr. Wu.
00:14Giant Panda Zhao Li Wu was born on July 29th.
00:18He is the sixth cub born to his mother, Bai Yun.
00:22Mr. Wu started life in a cozy den.
00:25He looked more like a white mouse than a panda.
00:29His eyes and ears were sealed and he depended on his mother to take care of him day and night.
00:38When the little guy was three weeks old, he got his first checkup.
00:42He weighed one and a half pounds and finally looked like a tiny panda.
00:46He even squawked at the veterinarian.
00:55At eight weeks old, he got his first vaccination to keep him healthy.
00:59He didn't mind the shot at all. He was pretty sleepy at the time.
01:09By ten weeks old, his eyes and ears had opened and he could see the people giving him his checkup.
01:15He had a lot to say about that.
01:25At three months old, the cub showed us his walking skills.
01:28He still needed lots of practice.
01:33People around the world voted for a name for our panda cub.
01:37The winning name was revealed during a ceremony at the zoo after the cub turned 100 days old.
01:42Xiao Li Wu means little gift.
01:45But would he stay little for long?
01:49Mr. Wu got his first toy, a hard plastic ball, when he was almost five months old.
01:55He loved it.
02:00Then came the big day.
02:02He walked down the tunnel all by himself and went outside to meet his adoring fans.
02:08There were lots of photographers there.
02:14Our five-month-old showed off his climbing skills.
02:17Mr. Wu even tried to climb on his mom.
02:25Xiao Li Wu saw snow for the first time when he was seven months old.
02:29He was nervous when he first touched it and ran up a tree to get away from it.
02:34But after a while, he came down and wrestled in the snow with his mom.
02:49Before we knew it, it was time to celebrate Mr. Wu's first birthday.
02:53Our nutritional services team made a delicious cake out of ice, apple slices, bamboo, and other goodies.
03:01It weighed about 200 pounds.
03:05His keepers decorated cardboard boxes as gifts.
03:09Xiao Li Wu and his mom opened the gifts first and then checked out their cake.
03:19A few weeks later, more snow arrived.
03:22Boy, did Mr. Wu get dirty that day.
03:29Pandas leave their mother when they're about 18 months old.
03:33And we allowed Mr. Wu to do the same.
03:35He got an exhibit all to himself.
03:41When Xiao Li Wu turned two, he received a beautiful blue birthday cake.
03:46And he didn't have to share it with his mom.
03:52Mr. Wu's father, Gao Gao, gets his blood pressure taken every few days.
03:57And Xiao Li Wu is learning how to do this too.
