00:00For many of us, this has no doubt happened at some point.
00:02You're waiting for an Uber to arrive, only for it to show up on the map,
00:05and then suddenly drive off with another passenger.
00:08Or maybe you've been that other passenger whose driver didn't verify you were the correct rider.
00:12Well, there is a way to avoid this ever happening again,
00:14with a little-known feature built right into the app.
00:17It's called Verify Your Ride, and it's a system which uses a security PIN number
00:21to ensure you're paired with the right driver.
00:23You can set this up by going to Account and Settings.
00:25There, under Safety, you'll find the Verify Your Ride button.
00:28You can even choose to only verify at night.
00:30With Uber writing about the feature on their official site, quote,
00:33it's easy to make a mistake and get into the wrong car, especially when it's late at night,
00:37or you're in a crowded spot and all the vehicles look similar.
00:40It's just one more safety feature the Rideshare app has implemented recently,
00:43with a company also adding an emergency button if you ever feel in danger during your ride.

00:51it will also give dispatch your live location, allowing them to get to you ASAP.
