Spain’s PM Pedro Sánchez has ignited global debate, calling the Iran war “far worse” than the 2003 Iraq invasion. In a fiery speech, he warned of deeper, wider consequences—economically and politically—while taking aim at US actions. His remarks have gone viral, putting fresh pressure on Donald Trump’s war strategy. As tensions escalate, Sánchez’s blunt message is reshaping the global narrative around the conflict and raising serious questions about where this war is headed next.

00:05it is truly important to remember never to forget so we don't repeat the grave errors committed in
00:10the past and most unfortunately history is once again repeating itself but this time it's not as
00:16a farce but rather as as a profound tragedy because Asnar has been replaced by Mr. Feiju
00:21and Mr. Abascal and Bush has been replaced by Donald Trump and instead of Iraq we now have Iran
00:27it is important to note ladies and gentlemen that Iran is a country with a population that
00:32is twice the size of Iraq's and its overall economic influence on the global stage is five
00:38times more substantial a country that possesses more regular soldiers distinguished members than
00:45Germany France and Italy combined that is the mission the military power that Iran currently
00:52possesses with incredibly advanced technologies as we are clearly seeing they are capable of
00:56destroying aircraft in mid-flight of launching ballistic missiles from a distance of 4,000
01:00kilometers and of controlling the Strait of Hormuz even with the presence of the American naval fleet
01:05ultimately Iran is a military power and has in fact spent 40 years preparing for a war like this
01:14what I want to tell you with all this is that we are not facing the same scenario as in
01:21the illegal Iraq war
01:22we are now facing something considerably worse indeed much worse with a potential for a significantly
01:29broader and considerably deeper impact and it is crucial to recall honorable members how we have
01:35in addition come to this very situation
01:39to all of you who are following us through the various communication channels and our social media platforms
01:45you must remember that on the 22nd of June of last year
01:50while Israel was devastating Gaza
01:52the United States bombed Iran's military complexes
01:57specifically Fordow, Isfahan and also Natanz because according to them
02:02the Ayatollah regime was and I quote very close to enriching enough uranium to build nuclear warheads
02:08the honorable members
02:13the question I believe most citizens are legitimately asking is what purpose all this destruction is serving
02:21what consequences has this first this first month of war had
02:26and I believe the data are very clear because there have already been almost 2000 confirmed deaths and
02:34probably a thousand or thousands more unconfirmed more than four million displaced people in Iran and Lebanon
02:42an emboldened Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu whose explicit objective is to replicate in Lebanon
02:50the very same destruction and suffering that was inflicted upon Gaza
02:54a cruel and illegal response from the Iranian regime to its neighboring countries
02:58which of course we condemn and reject
03:00because one illegality cannot be answered with another illegality
03:04approximately 12 billion euros or dollars
03:07to be more precise
03:08of public funds expended on military operations
03:11a severe contraction of the tourism industry
03:14of maritime trade
03:15and of global air traffic
03:18we've seen a dramatic increase in the price of hydrocarbons
03:21of fertilizers of
03:24of helium
03:25of essential raw materials
03:27for the proper functioning of the global economy
03:29and also for the food security of millions of people
03:32and here in our country diesel and gas have risen by 35 and 95 percent respectively
03:38the IBEX 35
03:40just to give one example
03:42has seen a cumulative drop of 9 percent
03:44which effectively means that Spanish companies
03:48in merely one month of conflict
03:49have lost more than 100 billion euros in less than a single month
