00:01As new research reveals one in three young Brits want a career that works
00:05to tackle climate change, I'm here to discuss the skill sets of a modern-day
00:08dairy farmer and my role in helping to reduce emissions.
00:13But just how many people can guess my career?
00:16I think you do marketing.
00:19It has something to do with music.
00:21His career as a sportsman.
00:23Hiking brand, a nature brand of something.
00:27I think you're a lawyer.
00:28I'll give you statements to help you guess.
00:30I use data to reduce our company's carbon emissions and influence business decisions.
00:36We actually employ solar panels on our business to help reduce our emissions.
00:41You could run your own coffee business or a cafe.
00:45I've guessed marketing, business owner and someone that works with cars.
00:50All of those are wrong, so what are you?
00:52I am actually a dairy farmer.
00:54Okay.
00:59With the clue about reducing emissions and making it more sustainable, I wouldn't relate
01:04that to dairy farming.
01:06I think big beard overalls, boots.
01:11To a lot of people it seems like a rather dated industry and climate change is something
01:18that feels very recent so the two don't always seem to link in a lot of people's minds.
01:22The environment is the most important thing to me and environmental issues because that
01:28is all we have.
01:29Arla is working hard to inspire the next generation of farmers by talking about some of the exciting
01:34things that happen in farming.
01:35Whether or not that's using data or whether or not that's looking at using new technologies
01:40on farm and really kind of making the opportunities for people who don't traditionally think about
01:45farming an exciting and innovative way to be.
