Nahuel Molina a encore frappé, et cette fois en plein derby face au Real Madrid. Entré en cours de jeu, l’Argentin a inscrit un but exceptionnel d’une frappe lointaine d’environ 25 mètres, envoyée directement en lucarne, ne laissant aucune chance à Lunin. Un véritable golazo qui a permis à l’Atlético de revenir à 2-2 dans un moment clé du match.  Ce but confirme une tendance récente assez impressionnante. Une semaine plus tôt déjà, face à Getafe, Molina avait marqué un autre but spectaculaire, tout en livrant une prestation offensive très convaincante. Il s’était même montré proche de récidiver avec une nouvelle frappe dangereuse, preuve d’une vraie confiance dans son jeu vers l’avant.  Mais malgré ces éclairs, la réalité de sa saison reste plus contrastée. Car ces actions spectaculaires ne suffisent pas à masquer les difficultés défensives récurrentes de l’Atlético. Dans ce contexte, le choix de Simeone de ne pas titulariser Molina prend du sens. Avec des joueurs comme Vinicius en face, l’aspect défensif devient prioritaire, et Marcos Llorente a été préféré pour sécuriser le couloir droit. Cela montre bien les limites actuelles de Molina dans ce registre.  Le cas Molina illustre finalement un problème plus global. Capable de gestes décisifs et spectaculaires offensivement, il reste cependant un joueur sur lequel il est difficile de s’appuyer défensivement sur la durée.
