00:09After the fall of humans and insects evolved,
00:13insects built upon the remnants of an old human city.
00:17Having just talked to some entomologists in the early stages of insecticide,
00:22we've seen stereotypes of bugs and insects being able to evolve more rapidly.
00:27In some ways, it's coming true.
00:29Well, yeah, the fun thing talking about powers is,
00:32I mean, somebody like Roachie, Chris's grizzled veteran cockroach partner.
00:36Us cockroaches may not have taken over the planet,
00:39but it still takes a lot to put us down.

00:44He's been shot, you know, 47 times,
00:46and he gets shot a few more times during the game.
00:49Cockroaches are tough, we all know that.
00:51So it's fun to play with that.
00:52It's like a superpower, you know?
00:55Can they fall off a 10-story building and survive?
00:57Well, sure, you know, bugs kind of have those different abilities.
01:02Humans have already started to devolve.
01:05You know, we've spent so much time indoors staring at a TV screen or a computer monitor,
01:10and less and less people are going outside to get exercise.
01:13and whether selection could act on insects in order to make them stronger and tougher,
01:18it wouldn't really be necessary because they're already strong and tough enough to penetrate all of our defenses.
01:24Bomb deer beetle has a chamber at the end of its abdomen in which it mixes several chemicals
01:28which explode vigorously out of the end of the abdomen.
01:38Bees are very weird in general, really.
01:40I mean, they're raised from a larval stage and the vomit of other bees.
01:43Well, a queen bee develops kind of spoiled by the rest of the colony and raised to be their leader.
01:48But in order to become a queen bee,
01:50the young queen has to slay the old queen or else drive her from the nest.
01:55And usually they won't give up their position without a fight.
01:57I can't let anything spoil my high fructose television extravaganza!

02:06We began development of insecticides several years ago,
02:09working on the story, characters, world.
02:12And then when we started game development,
02:14we partnered with Crete Studios from Russia
02:16to utilize their cross-platform technology
02:18to make a full 3D game on the DS as well as the PC.
02:22We've now finished the DS version
02:24and the two-part downloadable PC version should be coming out very soon.
