00:01:50While many may know a few details of the story of Goat Man, the alleged spirit of a black goat
00:01:55herder murdered by racists in the early 1900s, what many are unaware of are the many disappearances in these woods
00:02:02over the decades.
00:02:03Tonight, we'll take a guided tour deep within this forested area in an attempt to bring our audience some insight
00:02:10on the history, the many disappearances, as well as the several murders within the area.

00:19:45A couple years ago, I was working for a new station back east.
00:19:51I was on my way up and chasing the dream of being a lead anchor.
00:19:57Notoriety was starting to build and I was one, one great story away from living that dream.
00:20:06A tip came in about an extremist group using a house in a residential neighborhood.
00:20:13And there was a lot of suspicious activities.
00:20:16So I gathered a crew and we staked the place out for a few weeks.
00:20:20But, sure enough, there were telltale signs of something not quite right going on.
00:20:27I mean, during the day, there'd be zero activity around the place.
00:20:32It's like one car in the driveway and nothing else.
00:20:36But, during the nights, the streets would be lined with these big trucks and vans and all occupants of the
00:20:45vehicles would be in the house.
00:20:47Added to that, the place had more security around it than a bank.
00:20:52I counted at least ten security cameras myself.
00:20:55Plus, beware of dog and no trespassing signs on the fence and the windows.
00:21:02Was this ever reported to the authorities?
00:21:05What did they say?
00:21:06No, it was.
00:21:07A neighbor brought it to the local police, but they said there was nothing they could do.
00:21:13We were next on the list.
00:21:16What happened?
00:21:20Well, I was a little too eager to break a story without getting all the information first.
00:21:27Over the course of our time there, we recorded large groups of people going in and out of the house,
00:21:33as well as hundreds of boxes going in and out.
00:21:38We went wild, speculating what it could be.
00:21:41And, you know, given the security around the place, our best bets, guns, and our money.
00:21:52But, boxes alone weren't enough to run a story.
00:21:56We needed something else.
00:21:57And you got that, I assume?
00:22:00No, we thought we did.
00:22:03Early one morning, when the normal flurry of activity died down, around four or so,
00:22:09two adults and three kids were escorted out of the house very quickly by two very large men.
00:22:17And they were shoved in the back of the van.
00:22:20It looked like a kidnapping to us.
00:22:23So we took what we had down to the police.
00:22:31Already a long story short.
00:22:35The family in the van were refugees, forced from their home and just, you know, trying to start over.
00:22:43And the guys in the house were helping families relocate for years.
00:22:48The security cameras, the no trespassing signs, etc., etc., were all just a front.
00:22:57And the boxes going in and out.
00:23:01Caned goods and medical supplies.
00:23:07No guns.
00:23:08No money.
00:23:11Oh, shit.
00:23:13What happened to the family?
00:23:15The, um, the cops.
00:23:19Caught up to the van and it crashed during the pursuit.
00:23:24The guys in the van were arrested and the, and the father, um,
00:23:31the father's body was found in the wreckage.

00:23:38All because of a nosy neighbor
00:23:42and an irresponsible and overly ambitious report.
