00:0015 to 11 on Peter's power rankings as we push into that the Astros are projected at 82 wins
00:06the Giants are at 14 Baltimore is at 13 the Rangers are at 12 and the Braves are at 11
00:13now I don't think you factored in Spencer Strider's oblique issue that Mark Bowman tweeted
00:17about on Monday morning you're way too high on the Braves and Rangers I like you're I that's
00:24what jumps out to me immediately you might be too low on Baltimore I think you could get away with
00:29having this part of the the power rankings inversed entirely and I would have less issues with it
00:35so give me your five how would you rank these five teams so I'd probably go Astros 11 Giants 12
00:40Orioles
00:4113 Rangers 14 Braves 15 I'm kidding for the sake of inversion I just went like the total opposite
00:46I think I would go Orioles 13 I would probably go or Orioles pardon 11 I think I'd go Astros
00:5512
00:55I'd go Rangers 13 Giants 14 Braves 15 now that's recency coming into play in the Murphy's law type
01:02of offseason that Atlanta has had but literally everybody's getting hurt for the Atlanta Braves
01:07and I just I can't in my good conscious say that they're the 11th best team in baseball on opening
01:14day they're running out a rough rotation that's correct it does not factor in Spencer Strider getting
01:20it oblique about 20 minutes before we press the record what's the point of doing the power rankings
01:24if it's not back to Strider's oblique I'm still holding true I still think that this lineup is
01:29really good I still think the bullpen is elite yes they have starting pitching concerns right now
01:34but eventually these guys will return right Spencer Strider's oblique is not keeping them out for the
01:39season Spencer Schwellbach is not out for the season right they have a lot of arms who are currently
01:43injured right now who I think eventually will come back and to answer your question on the Orioles
01:50everyone is just rushing to race the Orioles right back up into like one of the top spots in baseball
01:58myself included yeah the Orioles last year had a worse run differential than the twins and the White Sox
02:05the Orioles won 75 games I am in I have increased their wins by nine games they have certainly improved
02:14right it's almost a difference between the Padres getting lowered and the Orioles getting raised I
02:20could almost make the argument that the Orioles are too high based on they have to prove it Trevor
02:25Rodgers has to prove he can stay on the field for the entire year right they have a lot of
02:30guys
02:32throughout their lineup like Jackson Holliday who's already banked up Jordan Westberg who's already
02:36banged up they have a lot to prove and that bullpen worries me too because the rotation they have some
02:43nice looking names but they haven't been proved that they can eat innings consistently then what is
02:50happens to what I project as a below average bullpen and it's easy to forget that this Orioles
02:56offense ranked in the bottom seven of OPS last year they have a lot to prove so I'm not
03:02just going to race them up because they added Pete Alonzo and Taylor Ward I need to see more
03:09I think you're a bit of a hater um why are you so ridiculously high on the Texas Rangers
03:14I can I can kind of see it their rotation I totally see it but the bullpen and a lot
03:21of these guys in
03:22the lineup like I love Lankford I love Seager what I don't know they give me more pause than they
03:28give
03:29you so love the rotation Eovaldi deGrom gore lighter lats or rocker yep I'm in the bullpen
03:37it's hard to project because they overperformed last year but they did finish fifth in ERA third
03:42and whip like this bullpen was extremely good last year will they replicate it probably not but will
03:48they be a top half bullpen I think so and it helps certainly when you have a good rotation
03:53now in the lineup you say you like Lankford and you like Seager I like Brandon Nimmo I like Josh
03:59Smith I think Evan Carter could bounce back I think Jock Peterson he couldn't be any worse
04:05and Jake Berger kind of the same thing and then Danny Jansen another good thing about the Rangers
04:09yeah they run the base as well and they play good defense on top of it and they had a
04:14better run
04:14differential last year than the freaking Mariners and Blue Jays did I think you're I think you're
04:19undervaluing how big the drop-off is from Lankford and Seager to the rest of that lineup like the
04:25second name you mentioned is like I like Josh Smith it's like yeah I mean I I guess I like
04:30Josh
04:31Smith too three-win player yeah I just don't know if that was Josh H Smith if Josh H Smith
04:37put on a
04:38Bryson Stott jersey you wouldn't be able to tell the difference
