00:21The Incredible Hulk video game
00:23has its roots in the 1960s
00:26when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
00:28unleashed one of the world's biggest
00:29comic book characters
00:31when you take something that's a combination
00:34of Frankenstein and Jekyll and Hyde
00:36how could it not be good
00:4262 and 63 were really big years
00:44for Marvel
00:44where Stan Lee and company produced
00:46quite a number of our major icons
00:48I think the Hulk is our most
00:50childlike character in many ways
00:52because he's all about impulse
00:53and he's just one walking in
00:55and basically if the Hulk wants to smash
00:57the Hulk will smash you
00:58One of the funnest things to do in a video game
01:00is to destroy stuff
01:02and to you know blow up stuff
01:03and Hulk is the kind of character that
01:05just that's all he's about
01:07When it came to the philosophy behind the Hulk's origins
01:10Stan Lee turned to science
01:13You may not suspect this
01:15but I am not the world's greatest scientist
01:18when I got to the Hulk I said well the cosmic rays worked out pretty good
01:22what other kind of rays are there
01:24and I said gamma ray sounds good
01:26so I figured there'd be a gamma ray bomb
01:28and he'd be exposed that
01:29Now I have no more idea what a gamma ray is
01:33but it sounds good
01:36Many fans relate to the tragic and persecuted character
01:39and Stan Lee is right there with them
01:42I don't know who's more tragic
01:44Bruce Banner who is so deathly afraid of becoming the Hulk
01:48or the Hulk who is so endangered all the time
01:53and also hates Bruce Banner and doesn't want to be Bruce Banner
01:57and you wonder how we can sympathize with him
02:00he's the most pathetic monster on earth
02:02Either the monster's trapped inside of him
02:04or he's trapped inside the monster
02:06and he goes back and forth
02:07and really can't control it
02:09but it's all about anger management
02:11You know drop him into a situation
02:12drop him in the middle of a city
02:13what happens?
02:14I mean that's just the great thing about him
02:16he's kind of a demon in a bottle
02:17and he just blows up
02:18and you don't know what's going to happen
02:19and so that's the thing we really have to pay off on
02:21in the video game
02:22is being able to drop him in there
02:23and see what happens
02:24The only remaining item on Stan Lee's list
02:26for this new character
02:27was a catchy name
02:29I gave him the name the Hulk
02:30and I said but it seems to need something
02:33I said how about the Incredible Hulk
02:37In the next installment
02:39we'll examine the relationship
02:40between licensor Marvel, game publisher Sega
02:43and game developer Edge of Reality
02:45and how all three came together
02:47on The Beast Within
02:48the making of The Incredible Hulk
02:50the teacher
02:50and the Hulk
02:50and in the next часть
02:51and I was looking for a Murda
02:51and he was looking for
