00:10So we're putting some really cool effects in the game
00:12now as well so the players have got more personality.
00:14So what is player reactions?
00:15If you watch any real football games
00:18you will see that the players are reacting
00:20to what's happening on the pitch.
00:22There's going to be six different
00:23animations called depending on
00:25what happens in a number of different states.
00:27The main reactions that you will notice
00:29into the game, so the one is when the
00:31players have a perception that
00:33the opposite player is in offside they will
00:35raise the hand asking for the offside,
00:37appealing for the offside.
00:39And then the other one that is really
00:41visible and helpful in gameplay is
00:43when the players are running
00:45into open space and they
00:47signal with the gesture with the hand
00:49that they want the ball there.
00:51Those are the two main ones but there are
00:53some others that are subtle
00:55like for example
00:56you have the last defenders
00:58that in a counter attack situation
01:00they are coming back to defending position
01:02and they tell the teammates to
01:04hey get back, get back.
01:06So there are many situations that the users
01:08will encounter and they will be surprised
01:10when they play the game.
01:12in Be a Pro we have reactions that are
01:15Be a Pro only reactions.
01:17In corner kicks or in free kicks
01:19you will see the player with
01:21the better hitting attributes
01:23so he will ask for the ball.
01:25If you are attacking you will know
01:27that that's the guy that you should target
01:29to and if you are defending
01:30you know hey be careful with this guy.
01:33Now reactions that depend a lot
01:35on the context. Let's say if you are
01:37you are attacking but you screw up.
01:40You have a missed shot.
01:41If it is not a really good match situation
01:43you are losing 1-0 or you are like
01:45pissed because you should be winning that game
01:47your teammate will complain at you.
01:49But if the match situation is good
01:51so let's say you are relaxed winning 2-0
01:53he will probably say
01:55hey good job, good try.
01:58Another situation that we have
01:59are the what we call
02:01complaint on the ground.
02:02If I tackle you even if it is a foul or not
02:05you might complain, you might tell the ref
02:07hey so what's going on here?
02:11The player reaction feature is not something
02:13that we had in mind
02:15just for this year.
02:16I worked in FIFA 07
02:19bringing something that was called the emotional engine
02:21that was trying to capture according to the context
02:25what is the emotion of the home team
02:27and what is the emotion of the weight team.
02:29But now in FIFA 07 we felt that
02:31we were ready for bringing those
02:33to a player base.
02:35We did a lot of research,
02:36watch a lot of games
02:37and we said ok these are the main things
02:39that you see players all over the world
02:42doing in a futile game
02:43and is that what we try to mimic.
02:46We have those two branches that we work on.
02:49So one is the animation, how it looks like
02:51for that we do motion capture
02:52we get actors and real players
02:55to perform in studio to create those different moves
03:00we capture those moves and then we see them in the game
03:03and we plug them in
03:04and the other one is the logic
03:06the logic
03:06when do we want things to trigger.
03:09For some are really straightforward
03:11for example calling to a player to do a run
03:14the player will signal ok so I'm going over there
03:16but some others like signaling ok I'm going towards open space
03:21it's not really trivial to compute what is open space.
03:25what I wanted to do is to bring those things from real life
03:29that authenticity into the game
03:32by mimicking what is going on a real pitch into our game.
03:36So to bring more soul and emotion into FIFA.
03:42One of the fondest memories I have so far of the gameplay
03:46was probably the first time we saw a goal ricochet
03:50off the crossbar over the goal line and back out again
03:54and then one from the post to the post and out as well
03:57which was really cool
03:58first time we put the new ball physics in which is pretty special.
04:01My favorite team is Tigre, Club Atlético Tigre
04:05we were in first division just for a year now
04:10so we were playing before that for 27 years in lower divisions
04:14in Argentina
04:16but now I'm really glad that we're in first division
04:19so first tournament we finished second
04:21now the second tournament was not as good
04:23but the important thing is that we keep playing in primera division.
04:27What is the game
04:27if you hold there for what you understand?
04:28...
04:39i am very pleased ID
