01:23So this is a, this is actually a story told in five parts, we're going to release in one a
01:30month, and it starts out with, we have this battle between Gaivers and Gaivers, and it's like the end of
01:40the game, right at the beginning of the way to the game, it's like the start of the game, so
01:44LeChuck has captured Elaine, and he's doing some foul, moving stuff on the ship, and Gaivers is sailing into the
01:51rescue,
01:51and he does some of the game, and he does some of his usual improvisational substitution, puzzling type of stuff,
01:59and it doesn't quite really great, and so instead of a puzzle with Chuck to an explorer, basically what happens
02:06is just the voodoo part of him explodes, and it goes all over the way, and it starts to, it's
02:13like the beginning of Gaivers, so this is the end, it's kind of bleeding, and growing, I don't like what
02:18that was before, so it's becoming kind of me,
02:21and Gaivers himself, he's blown to this island that he can get off of, most of the first chapter is
02:39Washington, so it kind of starts you right off with a few questions,
02:45which looks like LeChuck, meanwhile, what's left of him is just this human kind of thing, so he's actually kind
02:51of studly, and he's a rich parrot talking voice, and he doesn't seem like a normal guy.
02:58Okay, so what's this about humans, so there's kind of a question about that, and where's the plane, and you've
03:08got to go back and find her, and see what's going on, and then eventually the quest starts off to
03:13essentially get the Fuhr,
03:16which is the Sea Spunnel, which is the Sea Spunnel, which I believe, for this pox, and then he's got
03:22all over the place, and it's kind of like, the entire area is in trouble, it's all happening, it's all,
03:27it's all, it's basically got to fix it.
03:30These guys on this island here in the first chapter are pirates, so they've been washed up there, and they
03:37can't get off the island, so they've sort of taken on different jobs now,
03:44like glass blowers and instruments and that stuff, but they're keeping their pirate traditions alive, and one of the things
03:50they do is they built this ship together out of fair parts,
03:52and they can't leave the island on it, it's the wind blowing, but they take turns seizing it from each
03:58other,
03:58it's just kind of the piratey thing to do, so the guy just gets in on that, and sees the
04:03ship, and whatever that piece is set on, on the epic.
04:09Meanwhile, there's the characters, there's Matt Sines is the upper kind of guy, he's interested in the guy,
04:16and the stuff that's going on, he's going to experiment on him, he's kind of your adversary, he's a bad
04:24guy, he's a bit of a foil for the movie.
04:27They don't either one of them seem to be, like, good or evil, he's that guy, a French poppy type
04:34guy, and they play off each other.
04:37Science talks about the season, as the season progresses, we'll find out other things about the chocolate lane,
04:47and there's sort of trust issues arise, and you have to work with people you don't like, and eventually save
04:55the day.
04:57Eventually save the day, because I know I think it's a big problematic thing in the final chapter, which I'm
05:03sure we're expecting.
05:05Although we haven't always done that with our games, I mean, this is really more of a story told over
05:09five months, as Dave was saying.
05:11Sometimes we've done more self-contained episodes, but this is really, you know, Monkey Island is such that it really
05:16needs to have that scope and grand scale.
05:18So, yeah, it's kind of the episodic format is what's allowing us to do that.
05:23We just made one last game and kind of told the story in three or four acts, and it would
05:27feel one way,
05:28but we make five smaller games and each one has the beginning of the beginning of the year,
05:32and we tell the story over, you know, kind of more like a penis.
05:35Then it's sort of a similar amount of gameplay, and also some real time between the episodes,
05:43where you're thinking about it, chewing up with questions, posting on the forums, asking other people what they think about
05:49this and that.
05:50It's kind of part of the whole experience of the story, but like watching Lost or Lost or, you know,
05:55something like that.
05:57So the voice is Dominic Armato from the earlier Monkey Island games.
06:02This score is by Michael Land, who composed the original Monkey Music.
06:05He's coming back and doing some new soundtrack for audio for us as well.
06:09Sounds true.
06:12This is actually not the new music, this is the whole music.
06:14It's familiar because it's just here for the demo, but yeah.
06:17This is the way you're watching, it's not actually quite a finished version of the game.
06:21We really do work up until the last minute we go, and still take it.
06:26Michael's actually not quite done with the music, so I will drop neatly into his...
06:34So that's our demo, the whole series.
06:36Thanks.
06:36Thank you very much.
06:36Thank you.
