00:14He was in a battle with Mike Tauchman, who now will be out with injury after tearing his meniscus.
00:20Carson Benj, he had to pop out and show that he could get this done.
00:24And in the spring in the Grapefruit League, hitting over 360, 435 on base percentage, 15 hits, 874 OPS over

00:33He had a couple of extra base hits, and it doesn't even include the home run that he had against
00:37Team Israel in an exhibition game.
00:40But the main thing for me with Carson Benj that I look at, yes, the numbers are dope.
00:44You love what he did there and how he produced on the field.
00:47But you also hear the things around the Mets organization and from people who cover the team about how he
00:52carries himself with such maturity.
00:54That's the kind of moxie, that's the kind of presence that you want to see from a young player who
00:59wants it.
00:59And now he's got a great, tough first half.
01:01So you like him having a test.
01:03He's got to face Paul Skeens, one of the best pitchers in baseball in his first game.
01:07And we will see how he does.
01:10This is a kid who's checked off every box.
