00:00Micro Machines seems like the perfect fit for a videogame.
00:03They're little toy cars that you play with on life size objects.
00:07Naturally, there have been plenty of games based on Micro Machines.
00:10And they all tend to follow the same basic formula.
00:13Top down view of vehicles on tracks that have everyday objects as hazards.
00:18Now, the console versions of these games are really fun.
00:20But how well does this formula translate to a handheld?
00:23Let's find out as we wind the clock back to Micro Machines 1 and 2 Twin Turbo on the Game
00:29Boy Color.
00:30So, this cartridge contains ports of the first two Micro Machine games.
00:34So, let's start with the first one.
00:37So, it's a standard Micro Machine game.
00:39There are many different types of vehicles to play with, but they all feel quite similar.
00:43And you get to play on many different tracks.
00:46The main problem with this game is that the camera seems too zoomed in.
00:51and as a result, you can't see the hazards until it's too late.
00:57Despite this, it's still fun to play.
01:00But there's no music beyond the title menu and the noise of the tires squealing is extremely irritating.
01:07Anyway, let's move on to Micro Machines 2.
01:11It's pretty similar to Micro Machines 1.
01:13There's a slight graphical upgrade and there are some different vehicles.
01:18That's about it really, but the game is worse because the camera is even more zoomed in.
01:25This is really annoying and seems to be a recurring theme on Game Boy Color games.
01:30I had the same problem when I played Super Mario Deluxe.
01:35Anyway, all in all Micro Machines has its fun moments, but the zoomed in camera keeps it from being great.
01:40So don't go out of your way to get this game.
01:43Thanks for watching and I'll see you next time for another Wednesday Rewind.
02:10.
02:12…
02:24Grazie a tutti.
